Hi Scott. Everything you said is spot on. We work with the same logic. Hourly rates for regular work 💯 especially when employing. Businesses like ours don't need to find new customers every week
Nice work Scott, Good old fashion shears 👌, totally agree with what you've said, people expect loyalty from clients, yet few give that loyalty back, then wonder why they get cancelled, I'm the same as you, if a client wants something special done, I'll happily be flexible with my times. 👍👍
@@dagtailgroundmaintenance sadly so many seem to feel the pound is the most important thing, these days. In this modern world, old fashion values are few and far between, hope your having a good weekend mate
That type of work is the quickest way to fill up your schedule. Trouble is it can be frustrating in that your income tops out quickly too and is very difficult to scale up because you can't find people or machines to increase efficiency for that type of work. Great way to make a reliable income though.
@@scottellwoodgardening287 Wow. I wasn't really expecting you to tell me that.Thanks. We are just starting out so I was going to start with £30 an hour for two of us but we are inexperienced and won't be able to do a good job as you. I have now watched your pricing video which is helpful. Thank you.
@@olivia1uk pricing is always difficult. My clients are happy to pay as they are paying not just for the job but my qualifications, experience and knowledge of knowing plants and pruning times etc being a time served gardener. Would they pay another gardener without the knowledge and qualifications the same rate. Probably not. My advice would be either look into a qualification and read plant and garden books and broaden your knowledge as that will raise the amount you can charge and clients will value your knowledge.
A Proper actual gardener , Refreshing to find your channel, unlike alot of these so called gardeners channels. Just subscribed 😊👍
Thanks for the comments and for subscribing.

Staff is really tough and to get them to work to your standards is even harder.
would you do a video on a basic set for young people getting into this trade starting out by themselves
Yes Kevin leave it with me.
What do you charge per hour?
Site specific friend and on the equipment we use. Commercial can pay a higher ticket than domestic.
Hi Scott what make off shears do you use hard 2 get good shears regards
Burgon and ball shears. Great products I’ve used for years.
Hi, can you get a better rate doing private work than the commercial work? Im landscaping and thinking more about maintenance as i get older .....
Commercial does pay more but private is tidier nicer work to do.
What do you charge for a domestic garden like the one shown in the video?
Private regular maintenance in north east England £40 an hour. This is a weekly job all year.

This northeast weather is not making the job easy at the moment. Desperate to get the ground dried up
Tough at the moment. We probably need 2 weeks dry weather to help us.
