No Till Pumpkins

Happy Fall Everyone! Check out these no-till pumpkins planted by Stan Kaczmarek and his cousins! After 2019, the soil loss from the heavy rains led Stan to rethink their pumpkin plantings. In the spring of 2020, they frost seeded oats to keep the soil on the ground. After burning it off, they no-till planted their pumpkins into the cover crop residue. Hopefully the pumpkin carvings turn out as great!

I am doing 3 no till pumpkins this year. LOL I just use some cinder blocks to create 3 small pumpkin beds by dumping some half composting tree leaves into them. Then top dress with some cured quail manure every couple of weeks. They are growing ok right now. Hopefully, I will get some 10 to 20 lb pumpkins by fall.
