- Today I can present to YOU the full Drive & Sound of the all-new 2017 / 2018 Volkswagen Polo GTI delivering 200 hp and 320 Nm of torque out of a 2.0 TSI (total weight: 1.355 kg). In our ears it does sound even better than the current Golf R...that's a surprise! And wow, this Polo GTI really rockets from the block. We did several runs and a time of around 6 seconds always was the result once using LC. Fair enough we have to mention that this GTI ran on sticky tires and had the advantage of the immense grip of a racetrack. Still, we are impressed! Absolut tolles "kleines" Auto! Ich feier sowieso diese kleineren Modelle wie Audi S1,Peugeot 308 GTI, Polo GTI, A45 AMG etc. . Kleine Kraftzwerke die einfach richtig Spaß machen :) und hier absolut tolle Arbeit von VW :)

St0rmW!nD ` Sieht für mich eher aus wie der Polo Cross damals. Und Kleinwagen kann man da auch nicht mehr zu sagen, die Kloschüssel wiegt ja fast soviel wie ein Golf 7 GTI.
dann besorgt euch nen gewinde und schraubt ihn bis ins radhaus... so hoch find ich ihn gar nicht wenn man davor steht
So schlimm wie der 6C GTI ist er ja nicht mehr, zumindest wirkt es nicht so. Aber selbst Serie 25mm tiefer wie jetzt wäre schön.
Wenn das Serienfahrwerk wieder so ein Mist ist wie beim Vorgänger, muss sowieso etwas brauchbareres rein.
Ich fahre ihn seit einem Jahr.. viele meckern über das 6 Gang DSG es ist nicht m perfekt aber hat auch viele Vorteile...das Fahrwerk, für einen Kleinwagen und Frontriebler ist richtig gut. Das DSG greift nicht zu früh ein kenne ich von Audi und auch Mercedes nur zu gut. Das Auto hat jetzt ca. 30.000 km runter noch nie irgendwelche Mucken gemacht. Natürlich wie bei jedem Auto... immer ordentlich warm und kalt fahren. Ölwechsel alle 10.000 km und keine Probleme. Als Vergleich ich hatte einen Audi TT 1.80.
Einen Audi TT 2.25..eien Porsche Boxster...und einen die 325 Diesel...und muss ganz ehrlich sagen alles zusammen auch Preis/ Leistung. Bisher bestes Auto..das sind nur meine ehrlichen Erfahrungen.

Can Apaydın golf looks way better and has proper diff, not XDS.
since when does a golf have a mechanical dif? A standard Golf GTi uses XDS. You would have to go Clubsport for a proper LSD and that is a very limited production overpriced car.
Flase, the performance pack gti has the same diff as clubsport.
Performance GTi still has an eDiff, not a mechanical one. But you're right: even a clubsport has that e-diff and not a mechanical one. You get a full mechanical diff in a Peugeot 308 GTi, Renault Megane RS and Hyundai i30N. Pretty outrages that you don't get one in a car that costs 25% - 40% more.
I agree with you. If I could buy again, I'd go for an i30N or the new RS

This is such a stealthy little weapon. Doesn't look like anything from the outside but I reckon if you get a Revo map (300bhp) according to them, this would beat a stock Golf R. Anyone know if it's 4 wheel drive as well?
GTI are never 4wd from Factory; only FWD.
Thats a bcycle miller engine best you will get from chip is "only" 260 horsies still 200kg lighter then the r should be in the regions of the previous Megane rs

MultiDunki er hat einen kleineren turbo als der gikf und leichtere innenmechanik in der Basis sind wohl ca 250 machbar ohne den Motor zu sprengen wenn du auf Haltbarkeit den Mittelfinger gibst

Yes. I got the info months ago from VW Germany (was touring Wolfsburg/release of T-Rock), confirmed by VW Australia when I got back and it's been in the newspapers. By the way T-Rock not comming to Australia before 2020, according to VWA.

The only official info from VWA is that the 2018 Polo GTI will cost more than the 2017. I'm in the market and have put off buying a Golf GTI. I'm hoping the Polo undercuts the Golf by $10K drive-away.
The DSG seems slow changing to me
DV TAP its the old 6 speed transmission it shifts fast but has some issues with sorting itself out especially in corners

its not... its only as heavy if you take the panorama roof (which makes the golf even heavier) other then that depending on trim its 1275-1375

Toller kleiner Sportflitzer! Ich versteh nur nicht ganz, warum man da auf einen so großen Motor setzt. Eigentlich sind 2,0L Turbo-Aggregate "die neuen Sechszylinder" in der Mittelklasse und haben Leistungen von 250 PS aufwärts. Zum anderen hat man 200PS Teilweise schon aus nem 2L Saugmotor rausgequetscht. Aber die Ingenieure werden schon wissen, was sie das tun.
ich gehe davon aus das du von der kleinen spaßrakete Renault Clio R.S. 2.0 redest. das ding war arsch cool hatte aber verhältnismässig kaum drehmoment. mit nem turbo musst du die kiste nicht so hoch drehen lassen und ich gehe davon aus das der kleine eher so in richtung 220 230 ps streut so wie damals der 5er golf GTI (vor allem wenn du mal nach beschleunigungs videos guckst reicht das von 5.9-7.1 bei gutem/schlechtem wetter GTIs neigen wie ihr äusseres eher zu understatment was ihre leistungsabgabe angeht ;)

0 100 6sek ist sehr stark...aber wie siehts mit 100 200?das sagt mehr über die Leistung aus...wenn der 0 200 in unter 22sek macht, dann hol ich mir den als Zweitwagen :D
Das wird, denke ich ungefähr hinkommen plus/minus. 16 oder 17 sek 100 - 200 wird der gerade so schaffen, könnte ich mir vorstellen.
schau dir die golf7 gti werte an und leg 2-3sekunden drauf
müsste realistisch sein dann
Der Vorgänger Polo GTI 1.8 bzw. Ibiza Cupra 1.8 TSI macht ca. 24 von 0 auf 200, denke der neue wird ähnlich oder minimal besser gehen.
