He claimed Kersee put him on a doping programme, and that the rest of Kersee's 'inner circle' were also on doping progammes. And what did Kersee & Flo Jo do? Nada. They called him mentally ill, but did not take him to court. For exactly the same reason JJK hasnt taken Conte to court. If fans think JJK was clean, they are extremely naive.
@@mavusana12Ben was just dumb. Out of competition testing back then was almost non-existent. Most athletes who used gear during the Pre-‘89 era timed their cycles so there wouldn’t be any trace of juice in their systems by the time the major championships rolled around.
For sure in 96 Olympic games I know that 6 U.S. gold medal athletes were guilty. I knew of a doctor who quit before the Olympics because he could not sign off on it
Flo Jo went from a nobody to the fastest woman in history then retired at her peak earning potential when new drug tests were coming in. Died young because of what she did to her body. That’s who he means in 1988.
The athletes do not care . They all know each other are doping and it’s standard practice . The IOC also know and they only pretend to care for the public’s sake . The IOC kick a team out of the olympics most games just to show the public they are onto any doping and the majority of the silly deluded public think from those actions the games are clean . The sacrificial lambs are sent home and shamed by the very same authorities who allowed tests to be tampered with . You will never stop doping in sport because athletes are corrupt , their given country is corrupt and the IOC is the most corrupt of all . Where there is fame and money there will always be corruption .
Let's face it, JJK's surreal WR was set 30 years ago, and no woman has got anywhere near it, the next best is 259 points behind! It is in the same category as Koch's WR, as Kratochvilova's WR, or Lisovskaya's WR etc.etc. - all those WRs that were set in the 80s by doped athletes. At her peak during 86-92, she hardly competed on the circuit - in 1991 for example she did a 6.97 LJ in the heptathlon at the trials, then one other meet in July in Finland in 7.13....then low and behold comes out in Tokyo and wins LJ gold in 7.32. Same in 88 in terms of the LJ, she does the trials and one other meet, doesn't compete on the Grand Prix circuit, stays in the US then comes out and wins LJ gold in Seoul. This whole approach of virtually competing behind closed doors is not good. Flo Jo was no different too, with one or two meets on the circuit prior to Seoul and that's it. They were simply not making themselves available. The rumours as we know were that Flo Jo was basically told to retire. The IAAF and IOC could not face the other 100m gold medallist failing after Johnson, that would be a nightmare scenario. So even though she originally stated she wanted to try the 400m in 89, she had to go back on her statement and announce her retirement. Anyone who actually thinks Flo Jo and JJK were clean are extremely naïve.
So Victor Conte whom has made more money off of providing steroids for athletes all of a sudden is ready to get on TV and spill the beans on everyone else. This guy had NO PROBLEM providing athletes with drugs for over 20 years and now you all want to congratulate him? If find this very hypocritical.
I was legit just debating someone on UA-cam about this. Why are records especially women’s remaining untouchable? And his defense is they didn’t dope. And they trained hard etc. Idk what else to say
but noone today even tho training and diet etc. will ever get close to the records without cheating, all the old records pre- 2000 when drug testing wasnt great are all scrutinised
that's a powerful statement. I don't like to make heavy assumptions but every time i see those Flo Jo world records, something about her celebrations I see a glimpse of shame.
Why is he willing to talk openly about certain athletes but not others? Jackie Joyner-Kersee wasn't his client, but he's talking openly about her alleged positive drug tests. He says 19 other American olympic gold medalists were also positive, so he knows each of those names. Makes me strongly suspect that Flo-Jo may have been one of them. I wish this interviewer would have asked him directly about her...
@@lavonnealexander6936 More than what Conte said about FloJo I find her drastic improvement in physique and times leading up to the 88 Olympics to be suspicious, as sadly, her premature death. But of course, we'll never know for certain.... RIP
@@stonew1927 Peope often refer to Flo Jo’s changed physique as some kind of indication that she was doping, but she was actually lean and much slimmer than competitors today. Although I believe she doped, her body shape isn’t evidence of this.
@@Nii1978 Of course, all of this is just supposition. Looking from the outside. No one truly knows. But I disagree with your assessment about her physique. Even by today's standards she became quite muscular. But the issue isn't in comparison with other bodies over other eras. The issue is the transformation she experienced physically in such a short time, practically from one year to the next. I've seen her competing in early events and she just "bloomed" in time to peak for 1988. That, together with her jaw dropping times that have proven unattainable to just about every great athlete since, makes her doping highly likely. One must go on the preponderance of the evidence. Her early retirement the following year, the very year they were to institute much more regimented testing procedures, makes her whole story suspicious in my view. It doesn't help that she would die only 10 years later of seizure disorder. Such a healthy, athletic person succumbing in that way. It's possible she would have died anyway from the seizures, or maybe the PEDs exacerbated her condition and contributed to her early demise.... You are welcome to think whatever you want. Obviously its all conjecture, but given all the circumstancial evidence I am inclined to believe she used drugs, as disappointing as that is for me and others to conclude. Also gotta remember the context she was competing in, in the height of the era of PED usage. So many athletes from around the world trying to figure out how to get that extra edge and being deceitful about it, trying to outwit authorities. Many did. Some like Ben Johnson got caught.....
Every Soviet athlete that ever medaled was doped, according to the IOC. They decided not to alter the standings because it would have just been too embarrassing.
Both superpowers systematically used drugs in an effort to gain supremacy. Those who wish to continue being in denial are entitled to their blissful ignorance.
The US ego will always make excuses to cover up their constant cheating. A cheat is a cheat, regardless of another country's athlete also cheating. STOP CHEATING!!!
@@waterboys3001 look maybe she set that record legitimately but we have heard zero about testing and I feel like the testers know not to challenge the US athletes. Wilt Chamberlain was the one who started the Women’s 80’s track team with Bob Kersee that consisted of Jackie Joyner-Kersee and FloJo. When Wilt found out about Bob giving those drugs to the athletes, he quit sponsoring them.
It is pretty obvious when when looks at 1984-1992 games athletes who was roiding hard. But yeah, it is clear Carl Lewis, Kevin Young, Flo Jo, Linford Christie, Drummond, JJK (probably via her coach), etc were roided out. When Marion Jones admitted she was enhancing, that was it for me. Broke my heart and shattered my optimism.
“ Somebody somewhere did something. And somebody covered it up. I’m just speculating here. I can’t be more specific. Except for all the shit I did. But I’m not gonna talk specifically about that.”
The records of Jackie Joyner-Kersee and Florence Griffith Joyner (her sister-in-law) need to be removed, they are ridiculous and still stand 30-35 years later. Anyone with half a brain knows they were both juicing hard, just like the East Germans. Those records will never be broken by clean athletes.

I don't believe she was dirty either. They tested her over 30 times in 1988, and they got nada/zilch/zippo. I could see the drug charges if the U.S. committees were covering for her, but she was also tested at the Olympics and World Championships. As I said before, the 10.49 100m she ran *may" have been wind assisted. But she also ran 10.61 which is pretty close to the 10.5 mark. I had heard somewhere she had seizures and/or lack of coordination during the Olympics, and that may have precipitated her retirement. A lot of people forget she had been eligible for 3 Olympics, but 1980 was boycotted so no U.S. athlete competed there. It reminds me of back in 1989 when Darrell Robinson (RIP) accused Flo Jo & her camp of taking HGH. Dont forget this man trained under Bobby Kersee too.

She was in a abusive relationship she left that got married switch coaches in the rest of history....that's just dumb for you to say that ...you sound like a failed athlete ....you look stupid too.. where was Shelly Ann 2007... She was at 11.34 her time had come yet.. 2008 she runs 10.78 and wins the Olympics.... Where was Usain bolt 2007. He was at 10.05 ..one year later 2008 he runs 9.69 slowing down batten his chest.. you sound like a failed athlete man ..you are a failed athlete ...
@gerry findon all right little Gary.. random drug test right... Flojo the greatest ever fastest female in the history of planet Earth... Retire February 1989... Random drug test came out was announced July 7th 1989 flojo was already retired man... and here's something that your stupid ass forgot or didn't know you didn't know you didn't forget you just dumb.... @@sinsin1697 🤣🤣🤣 no she wasn’t. You sound so ridiculous.
@@yankees29 that's a hell of a comeback..I
Don't know what the hell you talking about.I
Don't think you know what the hell you're talking about... I stated facts... Your response was no she didn't...
Great interviewer.
Who is he?
Everyone knows she was doped up c'mon they all were.
Why do boxers still work with this ped expert? He's rolled on every athlete. Throws everyone under the bus and snitches!
Whatever. Let them juice. Its more fun to watch. Anyway, if everyone juices, its a level playing field.
At this point, it makes sense.
Totally agree!
I agree 100%
I don't like to see or hear of athletes juicing, considering the long term effects of steroids. One wonders why Flo Jo passed away at only 38. Lyle Alzado juiced and got a brain tumor and died at 43. You're right about if everyone juices, then it's a playing field.
😂😂😂😂
400m hurdler from 1992. Kevin Young?
Ed Moses didn't need to cheat
How you gone name Jackee but no one else? If you gone run your mouth, tell it all or shut up!
Deals were made behind closed doors.
😂 Without Dope there is no Hope this goes for every damn sport you Dope. 😉
Lol. Good one!
☝🏽🎅🏽😂🤣
😂😂😂
Hmmm .. low life
Epoxy anabolic and steroids east German style
You can’t tell me with all the technology facilities nutrition, level of coaching etc that there isn’t a reason why athletes in this current era haven’t even been able to get close to flo jo’s record. Americans probably take pride in the fact that their juiced up runner beat the rest of the juiced up runners” but it’s simple impossible to argue that there wasn’t some sort of cover up to make sure she «never tested positive” cause you can’t tell me in the last two decades there’s been world records and Olympic records broken left and right in the sprinting events yet flo jo’s records remain untouched while no women has ever been able to touch them since.
Are you Jamaican?
Every athlete should just take steroids, so everyone will be on a level playing field
Reilly then we wouldn't have all this blame game 😒
THEY already dope 100% level. otherwise no selection for Team USA.
Sounds good in theory but in practise it would cause problems. Athletes are some of the most intense, unbalanced people you could ever meet. If drugs become permitted, then the game becomes “who can take the most without becoming ill” or “who is willing to risk their health on an untested research product”? Althetes will take this chance, they are obsessed. Only a matter of time before we have a dead young person who’s had a bad transfusion or early onset cancers etc. The Federations can’t allow that
That’s what was going on in the 80’s and 90’s.
Most athletes are using. They start early in HS. These kids are getting bigger, faster and stronger than ever. It's simply crazy to think their all natural. DL/OL in the NFL running 4.6/4.5 or faster. Everyone in Track and field recording sub 10 in the 100m..We should just make it legal, and ensure it's done safely. Chances are the top in athlete in any sport is taking PEDS.
You were never an athlete if you think these kids are juicing in high school. High school sports are as clean as it gets
Add Germany & Soviet Union to the list.
USADA and the Nevada State Athletic committee are just the opposite! Lol
So we never get a name, who is afraid of what
Every time someone of my color is on the top even in death. You have someone want to discredit them getting five minutes of fame. He is a wow.
I bet all the people jumping up and down screaming “where’s the evidence?” For JJK and Flo Jo are the same people that were doing the same thing about Lance Armstrong back in the day.
Quit the identity politics and open your fucking eyes
Just name the names, otherwise keep that shit on the playground. 💁♂️
I was told by an unknown person
Yea I can't possibly imagine a circumstance where someone may want their name to remain anonymous
I expect their was some nationalism involved, too. Beating the Soviets was such a big thing back then. Everyone knew the Esstern bloc athletes had a sophisticated doping program, so it became an arms race.
all of this but no concrete, hard factual evidence.
and even the Olympics said she never tested positive but sure, no one would have any incentive to lie 😒 where's the black guy who lied on them? Whole career in pieces
