I love this scene as he's burning and just getting his butt handed to him and he calls out for Alfred, so powerful and a lot of that emotion is thanks to this music.
I love this part in the movie. It shows Batman being drugged by Scarecrow, he is one fire, he has no one to help him and he is is reliving the worst memory of his life. Truly heartbreaking.
"Boo! Aw... having trouble? Take a seat, have drink. You look like a guy who takes his job too seriously. Want my opinion? You need to lighten up." - The Scarecrow
to me it describes Batmans pain that he's feeling during this part when sprayed by the fear gas. it's like hes feeling the same pain when his parents died. thats why it makes me sad and feel bad for Batman :(
I agree with that comment completely. Neither Hamill, Ledger or Nicholson are crap. They're all brilliant. You can't compare them, totally different interpretations of the character.
lol! i actually sleep to 'why so serious?' so i know how that feels when the music creeps you out! but i had two joker posters staring at me, and i lifesized cardboard joker cutout staring me down! XD
I agree... it seems like people thought it was a great idea to give Batman the little rasp Christian Bale gave him in batman begins, and that was great! but then it just seems like in the other movies he just went overboard with it :/
anyone know where the music when he throws joker off the cliff? I know its in this first movie too, when liam neeson meets his demise in the train. Its not on TDK unfortunately.
And Bear McCreary is Zimmer+Chopin. lol Idk. Hans Zimmer, Nobuo Uematsu, and Bear McCreary are my three favorite composers of all time. Hitoshi Sakimoto is up there, too.
@Taraka1 Then you like someone who used the same exact tone and pitch every time dubbing the character. I too love Hamill, but Heaths performance took A LOT more effort and balls. I'm SURE too many people like Hamill because they grew up with him in the 90s. You specifically wrote hes nothing compared to Hamill? That ticks me off beyond belief. Ledger put his voice, body, soul, movement into the character. Hamill? his voice? um....well no. Hamill is nothing compared to Ledger
@Taraka1 Sides, I never said I didn't like Ledger, he was great. I think too many people say he's the best simply because he died. But I loved his joker too. I merely like Hamil more.
@Taraka1 Ledger actually scared me with his take. Hamill, the laughing and the crazy voice was cool and interesting to hear but it never did anything for me. I think my dread for Ledgers joker was
@BaDumTiiiiish I wish Zimmer, or whoever names them would keep unique names like these, instead of being quotes from the films, as we've seen in TDK and Inception.
@TheBazman117 A real superhero doesnt show his true identity even in death. Superman breaks the rules and besides how can u resisit a badass who doesnt need powers to strike fear into a city......
@TheBazman117 yeah he maybe has underwear on top of pijama but atleast he hasnt got donkey ears!! and he doesnt put a mask cause he ist afraid to face the bad guys with nothing on his head
I love this scene as he's burning and just getting his butt handed to him and he calls out for Alfred, so powerful and a lot of that emotion is thanks to this music.

Batman (Crying in fear): "Alfred, help ... me."
Pos-- poio--- poison-- it was poison !
Broke my heart
he wasn’t crying
Blood poison... poisonous@@TheAngryHippie
@@zoxyy.1x he almost was
2:52 such pain, such sadness, he was set on fire.
This is still one of my all-time favorite movie scores.
Hans Zimmer - I can't do Batman on my own. Please help me!
James Newton Howard - No problem mate.
Other way around.
This is such a great track. Zimmerman really knows how to capture the essence of emotions. Absolutely genius.
VengefulWarriorRose zimmer*
Thanks for the correction.
+Black Rosé Bear in mind that Zimmer didn't do all of the work.
Some of the tracks are unmistakably not his style.
3:28 Alfred....HELP MEEEEE
I love this part in the movie. It shows Batman being drugged by Scarecrow, he is one fire, he has no one to help him and he is is reliving the worst memory of his life. Truly heartbreaking.
"Oh having trouble? Take a seat, have a drink. You look like a guy who takes himself too seriously. Want my opinion? You need to lighten up."
"Boo! Aw... having trouble? Take a seat, have drink. You look like a guy who takes his job too seriously. Want my opinion? You need to lighten up." - The Scarecrow
This is one of the times when you see just how vulnerable he is, in a way. It’s really heartbreaking.
to me it describes Batmans pain that he's feeling during this part when sprayed by the fear gas. it's like hes feeling the same pain when his parents died. thats why it makes me sad and feel bad for Batman :(
his batman begins voice was sooo much better than the annoying growl voice in TDK and TDKR.
they are different.
2:52 so emotional & dramatical!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This song gives me goosebumps the whole time.
James Newton Howard and Hans Zimmer work so well together
from 2:40 is the best part
Could listen to this theme everyday
I get the image in my mind of a young batman still learning his way when I hear this
I'm always a bit amazed at how self-professed Hans Zimmer fans can't recognize the parts of the music that are so obviously not by him.
I agree with that comment completely. Neither Hamill, Ledger or Nicholson are crap. They're all brilliant. You can't compare them, totally different interpretations of the character.
4:30 sounds like The Matrix.
AMAZING !!!!
I prefer the begin of the song, specially minute 0:34 when the music starts to be epic.
Sounds great.
You need to lighten up!!
if anyone tried to be like a superhero like batman in real life they wouldnt last that long
Mr. Magista never said impossible for such things because you never know what would world give and what would come from the darkness
@taurusinfatuation also the child flashbacks then him calling for alfred makes him seem like hes almost turned into a scared child
Batman Soundtrack 4-9:
"Barbastella"
"Artibeus"
"Tadarida"
"Macrotus"
"Antrozous"
"Nycteris"

I cant wait to get my hands on Batman Arkham Asylum.
Love It
I play this music while playing Batman Arkham Asylum. I play the music from Begins and TDK.
this track makes me feel sad... and i like that
Batman forever
lol! i actually sleep to 'why so serious?' so i know how that feels when the music creeps you out!
but i had two joker posters staring at me, and i lifesized cardboard joker cutout staring me down! XD
@Taraka1 i just could have never thought that ledger would pull that off
it begins to play at the part where batman first encounters scarecrow and gets engulfed in flames.
i love
"Alfred.....help me...."
CHILLLING!!!
ive seen sunshine and 28 days later.... and not to mention red eye. =) yup, ive seen all of those.
I DARE someone to crank up the music starting at 2:18 at night and not feel a twinge of fear.
oh, cool! that's fitting
@Taraka1 agreed, it's sad though that ledger died. the world lost a great actor, a great joker and a great sequel
It's an amazing game; I'm not a big batman fan (other than the latest movies) - but the game rocks BIGSTYLE.
i feel the way as well
molto bello
很棒的配樂
"He's here...."
Who
THE BATMAN
Whats the song when Alfred save batman from the burning building in the first movie? I can't find it anywhere! I mean the soundtrack name????
I agree... it seems like people thought it was a great idea to give Batman the little rasp Christian Bale gave him in batman begins, and that was great! but then it just seems like in the other movies he just went overboard with it :/
the batman franchise reli has lifted off since Nolan began! i admit i have always been a batman fan :P
whats the soundtrack of the train¿
"Is it true what the say about him? I heard he can fly!"
“I heard he can disappear”
;o, Having Trouble Take a Sit Have A Drink Looks like he takes his Self to Seriously
Thanks for my opinion no you need to lighten up
I could listen to the part after 3:50 for hours.
anyone know where the music when he throws joker off the cliff? I know its in this first movie too, when liam neeson meets his demise in the train. Its not on TDK unfortunately.
It's called "train fight" from Batman Begins
@A7XRules4life Agreed in every respect.
3:18
ALFRED!! ALFRED!!!
A real superhero? I was not aware there was a manual for how fictional characters had to be created in accordance with. Oh wait...
Batman Begins and TDK would've still been killer if all there was, was to walk in the theather and listen to the sountrack.
2:21 Scarecrow!
2:50-3:50 favourite ^^
fuckin brilliant scene.
wow from 2:52 it feels like its a fight for survival or that all hope is lost
@Taraka1 so true
@TheSouthernPsycho
I think you just said it better than anyone dude. I totally agree with you.
where do they get these names :P?
they are species of bat...
greek I've heard. They're parts of the bat I think.
yes the joker in arkham asylum and hamill also was the joker in Batman The animated series.
And Bear McCreary is Zimmer+Chopin.
lol
Idk.
Hans Zimmer, Nobuo Uematsu, and Bear McCreary are my three favorite composers of all time. Hitoshi Sakimoto is up there, too.

this song is great, while playing arkham asylum looks great.
to pick ourselves up again
@Taraka1
Sides, I never said I didn't like Ledger, he was great. I think too many people say he's the best simply because he died. But I loved his joker too. I merely like Hamil more.
I throught he was good in 28 days later.
Alfred... Alfred...
Creepy Im watching the movie... I clicked on to this soundtrack and guess what scene was on? The alley scene this music was from :)
@Taraka1 Ledger actually scared me with his take. Hamill, the laughing and the crazy voice was cool and interesting to hear but it never did anything for me. I think my dread for Ledgers joker was
Who says the British cant make great films when we made Batman Begins and The dark knight.
Hamill has the best joker laugh, maybe if they did a batman when his 50 years old they could have hamill play the joker.
this scene is so creepy
@BaDumTiiiiish I wish Zimmer, or whoever names them would keep unique names like these, instead of being quotes from the films, as we've seen in TDK and Inception.
i think you're looking for myotis from the batman begins score
cillian murphey who plays the scarecrow is british =) i'm a big fan of him
batman begins was shot in the united states, i believe
@TheBazman117 A real superhero doesnt show his true identity even in death. Superman breaks the rules and besides how can u resisit a badass who doesnt need powers to strike fear into a city......
U need to lighten up
Want my opinion? Ya need to lighten up.
what's with the weird names on the songs?
beeniestudios I've understood they are the scientific names of the different species of bats.
@DoubleOCJ Challenge accepted.
2:24 - 2:42
@tiiito1988 a freakin greed
@TheBazman117 yeah he maybe has underwear on top of pijama but atleast he hasnt got donkey ears!! and he doesnt put a mask cause he ist afraid to face the bad guys with nothing on his head
You want my opinion? You need to lighten up!
Now i met
well at least after 2:15 it does.
@tiiito1988 Both have great stories but TDK was great, but also kind of depressing
@stopmotion1001 they would. if they could afford all the cool shit batman has that dosent exist :)
well....i suppose
