You are *not* complaining, Tom. I don't know how you can keep everything straight that you do in a day. It would be equivalent to a *month* in my world.
I really thought doing a video each day was an awful lot.. if you just do a how to series like you started..as you can get to it...we'll be thrilled. We love Rusty Judgement.❤ Jane in SC
Hey Tom, it’s all in the way you spin it. Today you’re teaching us how to handle a dozen projects at once and still maintaining your cool. All your videos are educational.
You're such a good dad, running that equipment is a confidence builder, your boys are going to be fantastic men because of the confidence they have and their can-do attitudes.
Tom, You’re doing a great job. You’re a husband, father of 4, and you are rehabbing, building, general contracting and you have to sleep once in awhile too. Don’t be so hard on yourself, we love ❤️ you unconditionally ! P.S. Why not have that guy with the goofy sunglasses help you out ? We haven’t seen him in awhile. 😆🤣
Tom, we'll happily watch any videos you are able to share with us. You never need to apologize for not keeping up with the one-video-per-day schedule, I know that isn't something any of us could do with your unpredictable schedule. I loved seeing the huge grins on your sons' faces as they were operating the small excavator. I hope you and your family are all having a great week. ~Margie🤗
The smiles on the boy's faces when operating the mini excavator says it all. What a thrill that must have been for them. You are such a good Dad/teacher. But any time you want to throw in another "how-to" video, I'll be waiting!
You're not complaining!! Your brain is processing out loud as you share all the things you have to do and in so doing you are coming up with the best order to get things done!! Processing out loud and Journaling are 2 powerhouses that helps the brain order what needs to get done...it is an added visual process in Word form or written form!! You are doing great!! Post your videos when you can...no pressure here!! Hope Gauge feels better soon!!
Tom, don’t get me started!!!😂 😂😂 I am 62 years old and I came up with hard working parents and grandparents and was taught a good hard work ethic and was taught and learned from them to finish what you started, if you borrowed and broke something you had to fix it. Folks took pride in their work…. You saying having to “babysit” workers was putting it kindly and mildly as far as I’m concerned. It’s hard down here in the panhandle to even find workers to do anything then afterwards kinda wish you hadn’t as it usually turns into such a hassle and hardly ever done right. It’s a scary deal how things are going. Hope your little one feels better soon.
I guess the only nice thing about this is that I can see it's everywhere and not just where I live. The work ethic is for sure not what it used to be. Not showing up, not communicating, lying about things they supposedly did & a 2-3 day project taking about 7 months! Crazy... yesterday I seen one of the pieces of siding fell off. I mean, why? Could it be because they removed said siding 3 times as they stated they put up barrier I paid for & is codes and didn't. Then when they "did"... they only did some! Workers actually took pictures of a piece they did & sent it to their boss saying it was done. Shady!
Tom and Dawn… your children are already and going to be such an asset to your community as adults! The discipline and wealth of knowledge you both instill in them is inspirational! 🎉🎉🎉
So glad you are okay, Tom. You are in the busiest time of life, and your'e killin' it and makin' it look easy! Love all your projects, but more than that, I really value your integrity, honest work ethic, and dedication to your family. Love this channel!
Your ceiling fan installation video gave me the courage to install one I bought 6 months ago. With the pride boost I got from succeeding in that install gave me the courage to build shelves in my children’s closet! Even if you don’t do more videos on how to, you have already made a big impact on at least this one person’s courage to try projects that before felt overwhelming and difficult.
I’ve been looking for this video. You’re worth the wait. Sometimes we learn the realistic limits by trying something challenging. Much respect for trying daily videos! It’s especially hard when counting on others to show up when they say they will. Things just change all the time. You do an amazing job of juggling things and making everything work. Glad to see you again and always appreciate all you do!
#1-so jealous of those kids working that front loader! Looks so fun! #2-I gotta say it’s so validating to hear you report that you also have to stay on top of anybody who does work around your house. I thought it was only me!😂 another reason why I want to do everything myself. #3-I love all your videos and content and I will take them and enjoy them whenever you send them! Thanks for all you do!
Same on #2!! You think you pay someone they would do the work.. not so. We had a granite instillation business. We always made sure the work was done on time, even if we had to stay out late.
So much patience with these projects…(I’d be going out back and screaming to let off steam). Omg. So great seeing the boys with the equipment 😃. Your children will have such a variety of experiences in their pinkies when they become adults!!
Tom, I think you're terrific. You work so hard, you're a great dad and loving husband. Don't be hard on yourself. Every " normal" woman is looking for a man like you. You and Dawn, and your wonderful kids, are so blessed!
Tom, you are so sweet and humble. Life happens and if you run out of time to make a video, your viewers will understand. We love Rusty Judgement in Michigan!
Tom, life gets in the way when you make plans. No worries on the daily videos, I learned a lot from the ones you did. Never heard of a contractor not having a generator to work at a sight with no electricity. Those boys will be digging circles around you in no time. Love seeing them learning new things.
We understand. Life happens and you have a lot going on. We will look forward to your "Tom's How To" series continuing later. It was cool to see Corbin and Gage on the excavator. They are little Toms!!! 😂
It seems like when a project is going on, it's like a really looooong 3 dimensional chess game! "A" side has to wait for the "B" side to make a move that depends on "C" side and on and on!! I found that out when my husband and I built our house many years back! I enjoyed the videos with the electricity, I wanted to know about those things!! But you can do videos later if you have time in between all 4-5 projects going on in the winter. I'll watch everything you post!! And Dawn's posts too! Blessings heaped on your family! Liz
Tom, I am a 73 year old Granny, and I would give anything to do what your boys got to do! I am fascinated with power equipment. I must have been a construction worker in a past life. I most like demolition! 😅🤣
Tom, just glad you and the family are ok. Everyone is crazy busy but all the things you teach your kids, one of them just needs to learn how to edit UA-cam videos!! 😂. Happy to watch when you produce.
Love that you teach your kids hands on skills- and that they can contribute different things at different seasons of life. You’re teaching them an attitude that encourages them to try it! With the knowledge you’re there if they need you.😊
Hey Tom...what fun for the kids! We had a child size "digger" at the park and the kids would fight over taking turns! Always need to stay on top of the contractors. Good on you!
We don't want to break our Tom. You do whatever works with your not! minimal schedule, and your viewers will be delighted when a new video pops up. You have a lot of things going on all at once!
You are doing a great job handling every thing that pops up from day to day. Please take time to rest. I love watching your videos and Dawn’s also. Y’all and Cass are my favorites.
Hey my dear... I agree with the majority !!!.. we will happily wait until u have time to continue the service of teaching all of us us how to fix issues for ourselves.. 😊 Omg !! U are juggling soooooo many jobs & houses at one time, LOL.. & showing us all that 'nifty stuff' where we all think ~ "thank God that isn't our house to worry about" most days.. 😅😊 Enjoy this slide to 40, my dear .. & yes, it looks like it was a beautiful day there.. & that a bunch of little ends got tied up for you both.. ❤😊
Every little boys dream and big boys too 😂 It's fine Tom you work super hard and understand how much time this stuff takes. Always enjoy the channel look forward to the next chapter in whichever project your doing ❤
I think it's awesome that your kids are learning skills like that. These are things that most boys don't learn till they're older if at all. Your boys will have a huge advantage in the job market, whether working for someone else, or hopefully owning their own business. Plus they will have a more marketable work ethic, which is sorely lacking in society in general. Kudos to you and your wife!
You never disappoint Tom. We love the Madsen family and will patiently wait for your videos. You do you because you doing Tom and Dawn doing Dawn is just about perfect.😊
"Under promise and over deliver" is hard to do for creative people like you. Pls take the camera with you whatever you do. It's all interesting. It doesn't have to be perfect.
Tom , you are getting so much done. It’s a LOT tho ! You can vent with us ! I know you are just very conscientious snd you want to power through that long to - do list , right ? Stuff happens , and then delays happen. Your how to vids are great ! So appreciated ! However , I couldn't help but be aware of the huge time sacrifice it was. That concrete for the shop , & the heating cables for the floor, septic & plumbing for the cracked house … alllll need to be done before it gets cold. You know that you gotta make hay while the sun shines ! Annnnd you’re doing it ! Look at those trees. Great reminder of gradual but steady progress that is happening all around !! Happy Birthday to Dawn today ! And I hope Gage feels better soooon ! Now relax. It’s heading in to Friday evening. Well done, Tom ! Love your channel !
It’s ok we know you have a lot you are doing on top of youtube. Don’t be so hard on yourself! Got my husband to subscribe! Also l replaced a light fixture and we are doing new outlets in a few days after my husband finishes the backsplash 😊. Next project is hanging heavy tool organizers in the garage for my husband 🤞🏻🤞🏻
Aw, you had a cutie hanging out with you to help supervise and learn from his cool dad. And in-law’s generator for the win. I grew up with beautiful poplars at the end of the driveway. Love your channel. I’m entertained, encouraged, and learn new things. I may tackle some projects around the house.
Not complaining ... stating the facts for what they are is perfectly fine: It's not you, it's THEM [Contractors]. I agree with the others, we are happy with whatever videos we get; we know you are busy doing the stuff! It's all coming together nicely! The trees are great! I need someone to dig two Egress Windows for my basement!! I'll hire them!
So awesome to see your boys learning all these incredible skills at a young age! Well done Tom and Dawn! What I've learned about working with contractors is that half the job is on you to oversee them and bring them all the tools etc. that they somehow didn't know they needed.

No worries, Tom. We just like watching whatever you have time to show us. ❤
I 100% agree. We love your content whatever and whenever we get it. ❤️❤️❤️
Agreed!

Hi Tom, don't sweat it! We love everything you put on here so take care of what you need to take care of!
The kids probably enjoyed the real heavy equipment than any video game they could play! They are gaining so much useful knowledge!!! ❤
Was going to say this!
Hey Tom, it’s all in the way you spin it. Today you’re teaching us how to handle a dozen projects at once and still maintaining your cool. All your videos are educational.
I was sad when you didn't do a daily video but I am sure everyone understands. Do what you can do when you can. We will still watch 🙂
I actually couldn't keep up with the daily videos 😅
Let’s all recruit some new subscribers, too ! Tom’s Bday is approaching ! 😍

Love it when parents are involved and teach their children useful skills!
Very good parenting To do this!
No worries. Life happens!! We will be here when you put them out. Thank you for all the how to videos, whenever!!

Im 63. I totally agree!!
Good thing Gage doesn’t get car sick. Bumpy truck and back seat and not feeling well bad combo in my world. Feel better Gage!
You are giving your sons life experiences. I love it. Love your videos. We know you are super busy.

A cap with rusty judgement on it would be cool!

Oh gee so much to get done before winter
Good Contractors are tough to find. Thanks for posting. Life is busy.

You're doing great, Tom. Whether you put out 1 video or 7 videos a week we are gonna be here for it. 👍🏻👍🏻

Wow! That’s so cool that the boys got to do that! My daughters would be so excited to do that too!
Our family motto: "if it's not fatal, it's no big deal".😊😊❤❤
What a great daddy you are! ❤️❤️❤️ You & Dawn are great parents, your precious kiddos are blessed!❤

It’s wonderful that you teach all 4 of your children life skills.
It’s ok we know you have a lot you are doing on top of youtube. Don’t be so hard on yourself! Got my husband to subscribe!

Your kids are the cutest. The boys are little versions of you. They must’ve loved using the real machines. Haha. A kids dream come true.
Don’t burn yourself out Tom. We appreciate whatever you can do. ❤
Love your videos. Your sons handled the equipment like pros.
What a dad👏👏letting the little guys run the excavator 😊
What amazing dad. I wish my kids dad would teach them stuff like you do. I wish i had more knowledge to give my kids on home improvement.
I think it is awesome that your kids get these opportunities!

Thats so fun Corbin and Gage playing around in the mini excavator!!! :) They are learning so much from you!!! I love it!!!
Oh how fun!!
Your 2 young men will want to help every chance they get now!!
That is great experience...way to go Dad!!
So much more fun than the one at the playground. 👍😉
The end clips of the boys make my heart happy!
Tom, you’re so busy and we get it! You are rocking it!
Loved watching the boys on the excavator! You have taught them well, they did a great job!
Sooooooo jealous of the boys!!!!!!!
We love watching your videos no matter the content or frequency. Love hangin' with you and your family. So don't worry about us.
Gotta love this nonstop guy..no worries ever!
Videos while driving make me so nervous. God bless you with safety!
So awesome to see your boys learning all these incredible skills at a young age! Well done Tom and Dawn! What I've learned about working with contractors is that half the job is on you to oversee them and bring them all the tools etc. that they somehow didn't know they needed.
Hi Tom please don’t worry, any time you post is great. I did think you were putting to much on yourself. Don’t burn yourself out it’s not worth it xx
I totally get your frustration. I frequently have tradespeople show up to do a job and ask me for tools. They are the professionals - why am I supplying them with what they should have. And yes they never can finish the job.
I was looking for your videos & then I thought, wait, I'll bet Tom is super busy! It's that time of year where everyone wants to button things up before winter.😊
You poor guy! Please don’t get sick. You needed to vent. Glad it was to us who love you!!!
It’s OK 👍 When life allows it would be great if you can continue through the list of “How To Fixes” from viewers. Even if just once a month - really enjoyed ur instruction, surely a help to many. God Bless you on all ur endeavors.
Agree! Also, it would be nice to get a view of yours and Dawn's new offices in their working environment (just another project!)
I just love watching your kids ❤ they will be able to handle tasks in there future because of everything you guys have taught them ❤❤❤❤❤
