    Drill a couple of holes in the block grips and screw a lump of timber on the moving grip to shorten the distance that should work 👍

    • @hydrazzz1
      @hydrazzz1 3 місяці тому

      Do not do anything to it, you stack blocks side by side, standing up on their sides, it picks up 4-6 blocks at a time or whatever length it is.

    12:13 the best way is to flick the tilt locking catch across the base frame before standing the mixer upright, it takes out all the slop and makes it much easier to lift up.

    Hi Liam, right the elephant in the room, I'm a bricky! Lol I'm not going to say anything bad because anyone having a go is good in my eyes so can i offer a tip or two? If you leave mixer longer it will loosen up and become more workable, it's easy to out to much water in. When setting out bumping up your beds to gets levels is fine, but 10mm beds are what you should aim for on the rest of the blocks, think of it this way, if you do thick beds then it's more mortar and more mixing involved, happy building 👷‍♂️

      Perfect, that’s what I want to hear, good, experienced constructive criticism, less muck sounds good to me, how long are you letting it mix for mate?

    • @KingstonHomeMaintenance
      @KingstonHomeMaintenance 3 місяці тому +3

      @thegardenroomguru so the typical time is about 20 mins, this gives the plastiser time to activate and do its thing, after 20 mins if it still looks dry add a little more water, trust me though it will wet up.

      Let the mixer do the work for you, can add more water later but you can't take it back out if you add too much too soon lol that's what my old gaffer taught me 👍🧱

    hi mate..just a tip when u have a step in foundations try and make the step approx equal to height of block or bricks layed in your case flat say 140 plus a joint of say 20mm so thats total 160mm step in concrete...so when laying 2nd course of blocks its easier.
    all the best

    Im no bricky im a plasterer by trade but have always worked with builders and now im working for myself iv been doing garden walls and patching up brickwork ect.. few tips iv learnt along the way is 1 the mix, if you think it needs more water it probably just needs another 5 min spinning and 2 when it comes to building the walls if you corner up a few courses keeping to your 10mm bed then use your laser to get the other corners the same you will end up with level and consistent beds. Good luck with the build and if you need a hand for a few hours one day il jump on it with you 👍

Everyone is out for themselves, I’m not pointing the finger at anyone in particular especially him, because I’ve only just come across the guy this week, but there’s plenty other trades that follow me, some even liked the post, others seen it, but none shared, it just shows me how init for themselves some people are. So, unfortunately my faith in humanity is not very high and unless someone changes my mind, you won’t see any collaboration from me, you’ll see reviews on products that work, but that’s about it I’m afraid
