Anyone can make this stuff Trina! I appreciate the compliment...You made my morning! Do you have fun plans for the weekend? Are you going to make something?
You are so clever. Wish I had imagination like you. I just love this. I would probably cut myself with the sharp cans. Maybe I could do the same thing with plastic. Thanks for the idea. Very cute.👍🏻🥰❤️❤️
Aluminum flashing might be easier for you than cutting into cans. But I do think that you COULD use plastic, if you prefer! Whichever material you choose, this is another GREAT project from Mark Montano!!
Many questions that are not on topic exactly: 1) Will we ever get a tour of the Craft House? 2) What are you doing with all of the stakes/stems of your solar lights? 3) Do you photograph all of your hanging projects in the same spot? 4) Is that spot specifically set up for photographing hanging projects? 5) Who is the team behind Mark Montano? 6) Will you ever have a project that features solar stakes without the lights? (#6 is basically the same as #2, right?) I always figured you for a California boy, but your Wikipedia article says you were born in Colorado. It also says you are 55! I feel like this is impossible. But Wikipedia often has basic biographical data wrong. Have you done any videos that feature recycling plastic bottles like the kind that shampoo and lotion typically come in? I’m like you in that I like to reuse the containers that our products come in. I feel like all of those product containers have so much potential that’s being wasted. On a side note, even though most cans these days do not contain any tin ( though not precious, tin is still rare) it isn’t incorrect to call the metal housing “TIN”. Tin is also slang for moolah. I am now wondering if it is possible to punch plastic bottles similarly to tin cans to make lanterns. I like your lights but I’m happy enough with punches cans and my wire wrapping skills are sufficient to not need suspension holes in a can. A similar technique to the one you used to on the wire suspender could be used around a can so the beaded dangles could be suspended from a can. You could also just punch holes in the bottom of the can. Oh. An actual use for the stakes! Since those solar light stakes usually come in two pieces, you could glue the stake to the bottom of the can. That way you can make the light shine downward. I’m totally going to color a can with alcohol ink and a fill it with water tonight. I just finished a can of olives. Tomorrow I shall punch in a decorative pattern. Happiness is a cool craft project.
Ok, my mind just exploded! I do keep the stakes because I use them as garden markers plus there is this cool metal tube that's great for punching circles in clay and for rolling out clay and paper pulp. I was born in Colorado, educated in NYC and moved to LA to pursue a career in television which is where I currently reside. I'm not 55...But for some reason Google will not change it and I don't really care anymore. You can use plastic if you want.
