  • Welcome back everyone!
In this video I go and collect a new 3 point tool for my vintage Nuffield tractor to make clearing snow a whole lot easier.
Winter has definitely arrived here now in northern Sweden. Snow plowing season is here.

Fab new toy!! That's going to be such fun & incredibly useful this winter, you made me feel very happy watching you laughing with glee at the end & now I'll get up & get on with my day.
Woke in South Wales to our first frosty morning with frozen bird baths, blue skies & sunshine, glorious good to be alive weather.
Have a great week Ash & give Bob & the cats a cwtch (cuddle) from me. ❤🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿❤

Ahh I kind of miss that slow transition you get in the UK. The gentle frosty morning that let you know winter is on the way. Here is like BAM -20 one day 🤣 thank you, you too!

Those Snow chain tensioning ropes.... Most of us who use ropes or ratchet straps, do it by running the rope through the wheel dish from side to side, tensioning as you go. Uses a heck of a lot less rope. when you take em off next spring, chuck the ropes away, as the winter will have ruined them.

I reuse my rope each year 👍

Use a decent powered leaf blower to shift the loose stuff

Yes an snowblower has an advantege if there´s come an amount of snow to a certien point. Over that you´d better stick to the snowplow. But congratiolation to the snowblower. With it you can showel away snow faster then with those small snowplows you have on that old tractor.

The main reason for the blower is if I use the plows too much on our track it starts to form walls at the side so the road gets narrower as the weeks go by 😅

I was amazed how the blower worked so well on trying it out for the first time. Great idea and investment, which should make snow clearing a whole lot more fun and easier. If you find no leaks in the hydraulic system, then it's probably best to leave any overhaul until it actually fails.

It was more a concern because I had issues lifting a full bucket so something is obviously wrong inside. Luckily the blower is light enough for me to leave it until next summer 😁

Boys with toys haha. Awesome bit of kit. Nice simply contraption that does an amazing job. That pto angle should be ok for the amount of time you will be needing it. New addition to the old girl 🚜💪

Well done, just a thought, I'd have thought this should be the other way round so the Y faces the snow so you advance into the snow to blow it away, as it appears, you will have to drive over the snow if you can, before the machine gets to the problem you are trying to displace. Just a thought......

Some of them can be mounted either direction but unfortunately this model is only pull. I think if the snow is fairly deep I could use the front blade at an angle to push to the side then the blower will collect it and fire away. It's pretty effective though. Will make more videos showing it in action

    Hello

Hope you get lots of snow now then. Seems like the shaft is at a pretty steep angle when the snowblower is resting on the ground. Be sure to keep the revs as low as you can at those angles the life expectancy of pto shafts is a lot shorter than at lower angels. A straight angle is not good either as cross joints needs to be exercised. But keeping the revs as low as you can is probably a good idea. Those shafts are certainly not cheap. Make sure to lubricate the grease fittings after every dozen or so hours of use. Good luck. 👍

A couple of people have said that now but I don't really understand how I would overcome that problem. It's not like I can run the tool higher or it won't be on the ground haha. Any ideas?🤔

@@ash.pollard unless you are clearing public roads all winter long I wouldnt worry about it. Just something to think about. Don’t run it unnecessarily fast, try lifting it to minimize the angle whenever you don’t need it clearing snow. With the few meters of road you have to clear I wouldn’t be surprised if the shaft outlives us all. 😂

Poor Bolski, he walks as if he's shit his pants..., kinda hurts to watch. I really do hope he's not suffering. Yep, Ash has yet another toy to play with.... and there was me thinking it was only Skiiers that prayed for snow!!

It's a pretty accurate way to put it unfortunately 😆 he's OK though. Regular contact with the vets and is doing a rehab thing. His back legs just don't work that well anymore

Still needed very much for when the snow is wet and heavy. Also can't get to everywhere with the blower👍
