  • In this video, I show you how to fix the squeaky noise that comes from the front power seat. All you really need is a 10mm ratchet and a $14 dollar part (part number TK81--88-0D1 from realmazdaparts.com) and it takes about 30 minutes.

This was helpful. I just took care of this on my 2016 Mazda CX-9, and it saved me $1,000 compared to what I was quoted at the Mazda dealership. 😅

Thanks for the solution. I do have a much easier way to do this however. No need to take any bolts out and it takes about 5'. 1. Raise seat all the way up (both front and rear). 2. Move seat all the way back. 3. Under the front of the seat, remove the three plastic push pins holding the fabric upholstery and then push upholstery to the rear. 4. Move seat all the way forward. 5. Lift upholstery up to expose the part needing replacement. 6. lift part out of holders and pull out. 7. reinstall new part. 8. Put upholstery back in front and pin it in. 9. Done

I didn't want to buy a new part. So i tried lubricating it and re-installing. No more screeching. I didn't remove the push pins, and pulled it out from the front which was probably a little more annoying and my legs were flailing like something out of a horror movie. But it's done.

I have exactly the same car and the same problem. My seats are bolted in with the bolts that look like a reverse torx screw. I only tried one with a 10mm and may have rounded it. Anyway it looks to me like raising the seat all the way up will give plenty of room to remove the cable without removing the cable. Hopefully this works. I may try lubricating the cable first. Wish me luck. I ssume the cable is flexible enough to pry it up in the centre to free the ends?
