Got an H code 383 HP engine in my 68 Sport Fury. Engine is original on bottom end with 122K miles. I put a new lunati 256 cam/lifters/double roller chain in it earlier this year. It runs great, especially given it's age and mileage. Great oil pressure at 50-65 PSI. Great motors...I've really enjoyed working on mine.

That’s great to hear! Glad I picked one with an engine worth having. It wasn’t far from throwing the #5 rod when I got it but I think I’ve got it in a state where it can be enjoyed again. Also glad to hear you put a lumpier cam in it. These engines sound great with them.

I tell ya...my Lunati gives just a slight bit of edge to the 383 but it still idles great at 650 RPM in neutral (I have a 4 speed car). Sooo much torque from this cam...works great with my 4100 pound car. I recently put an overdrive gearset in the 4-speed and it pulls hills with ease in OD.

Awesome man!! I’m happy to help however I can if you need it. But sadly I am more import engine oriented so I had to seek a lot of assistance. But hopefully I or the vids can help get you most of the way.

Thanks man! Not the most exciting thing in the world but we will get to more fun and funny stuff after the virus stuff subsides.

BreadenBertt I enjoyed it, it’s not everyday you get to see UA-cam videos about people repainting engine parts or trying to color match the block to original, it was very interesting and the way you want to paint it is going to make that car stand out from the rest of them

I have the ly rods and they are fine, 12.90s 6,000 rpm in a 413.

Yeah personally I was fine running the coated rods. But Jerry is the expert and I was there to listen to his word so we just went the route he wanted to take. This thing is low and slow anyway lol. 12.90 is cookin’

Just found your channel, I picked up a 1967 Plymouth Sport Fury that was found in a barn out in Iowa with a 383 that's all original top to bottom that was a bit of a special order that I'll be having to do a bit of work to so this'll be an interesting set of videos.

That’s awesome man! It’s definitely in better shape than my old pile. But I’m thankful for your support and views. Hopefully there’s some entertaining and informative stuff for you in these videos. Also happy to help how I can! I’m not an expert on these cars by any means but I know people who are should you need some input. Great find on the car! Enjoy it! 🤘🏻

I'd rather have water in the exhaust than leaking thru a head bolt like chevy.
