Yay, so fun!! Hopefully I can get to it in August, I really want to but I’ve been moving slowly this month and I have to prioritize my book club/buddy reads haha. Definitely planning to get to it sooner than later though! 😊
Such a good TBR for August! I’ve heard such good things about a lot of those books, but unfortunately I haven’t read any of them so I can’t share my thoughts. I can’t wait to hear your thoughts though!!! August is my bday month and hoping to share my August TBR on Wednesday! Also love the new video background set up :) ❤
Thanks so much for watching and commenting, as usual! ❤️ Ahhh happy early birthday, so exciting! Can’t wait to see your August TBR video! And thank you, trying to make things as cozy as possible in our small apartment 😊
Thank you, I hope so too!! Haha yes it’s always fun to see them! Reshi (the dark grey one) was basically kneading on the couch behind me the whole video, I guess it was relaxing to him 😂
Nice!! I’m so excited to read that one! And yeah I saw Remarkably Bright Creatures on your TBR cart, can’t wait for you to read it! Such a wholesome, cozy book 😍
Wow, that's an ambitious TBR! Some of those books are thickkkk 😅Really looking forward to reading Parable of the Talents together. I also spotted a couple of books on your cart that I really want to get to as well (Hello Beautiful and The Fifth Season). Happy reading!
@@Curious-Cat Yeah it is a bit ambitious now that I think about it… We shall see how it goes 😂😂 But yes I’m excited to read that together too and maybe we can do a buddy read some other time of one of those books you mentioned on my cart! Would love to get to those soon 😊 Thank you!!
@@LibrariesandLattes I'm all for ambitious TBR as long as it stays fun and games and we don't put pressure on ourselves to complete them ^^ And super open to future buddy reads! Part of me would like to get to Hello Beautiful in August. Another part of me is looking at the list of other books I'm also hoping to get to in August aaaaand I'm not sure it's going to happen, so maybe a good candidate :)
@@Curious-Cat yes for sure!! I can definitely put unnecessary pressure on myself sometimes but I’m learning not to do it as much, haha. And yes hopefully you can get to Hello Beautiful in August! Let me know if not though and maybe we can both tackle it in September 😊
I liked Stone Blind, but be prepared to not read a lot about Medusa herself. You read about her life for sure, but you mostly learn about all of the mythological gods and characters that surround her. It’s a really good book, but I was a bit disappointed by that cause I wanted to explore the character of Medusa.
@@BooksByAnneleen good to know, thanks for the heads up!! I have absolutely no expectations because I basically know nothing about the book, author, or Medusa, haha so I guess that’s good 😂
helloooo! you poppped up on my youtube page, and then I saw in the description about Ellen and Cat??? I absolutely love them as well 🥰 So I knew I had to watch your video 🧡 I absolutely cannot wait to see what you guys think about Parable of the Talent. I didn't pick that book for Ellen's book club -- rather I picked 1984. So I'm excited to see what y'all think! But for August, I am joining with Pachinko! If you end up reading it, I can't wait to see about what we will think about the book 🥹 I kind of want to read Sula as well for August... but it'll be a stretch goal for me. The Percy Jackson is a series! I'm currently buddy reading it with my husband (well, more like I'm reading it and trying to get him to read it 🙄🤣). It's fairly good for being a middle-grade book especially for someone who LOVES romance. Usually books without romance for me is harder for me haha. I see you have Butcher&Blackbird on your shelf and I LOOOOVED it. Was 5⭐ read for me, so maybe if you pick that 5 star prompt again, you can take a look at that 🥰
@@itsmimiduong Aww thanks so much for watching my video, so glad you’re here and that we have some mutual BookTube buddies! I need to check out your channel too! I want to read 1984 as well but am waiting on the audiobook hold. What did you think about 1984, if you’ve already read it? Yay for hopefully all reading Pachinko together in August! Feels ambitious but I definitely want to do it. I’ve heard good things about Sula too. Oh I love that you’re reading Percy Jackson with your husband! I assume he’s not much of a reader but you’re trying to force him into the hobby? 😂 And I feel you on the romance thing, I usually like to have at least some romance in a book!! And that’s great to hear about B&B, I’m terrified because of all the content warnings haha but I can’t wait to read it! 🎉
@@LibrariesandLattes Yess! And of course, I'm always looking for more people to watch 😍 1984 is a pretty solid read but I find it a little dense. There's a lot of surprise factor, and the Orwell's opinions on society is quite interesting when you compare it to today's world. Definitely a lot of "Oh wow" moment. Don't want to spoil anything! Let's do it! I can't wait to see both yours and Ellen's opinion in August. 🥰 I'm actually going in kind of blind, only knowing what Ellen has said in her video. But I had it added on my TBR for quite sometime now. I'm sure at one point, I actually knew the synopsis 😂 Not really... he said eh really liked the Percy Jackson series as a kid. Wanted me to read it, but I said I'd only read it if he reads it 🤣Though someone didn't keep their end of the bargain 🥲 Don't let the B&B content warning scare you too much. I think it's written off pretty well, and I felt like it was a lot less gruesome than I thought it'd be. But it might just be my tolerant. 😅
@@itsmimiduong good to know about 1984! I’m planning to get to it in the near future. And yes hopefully we can all read Pachinko!! I like to go in blind with most books anyways so I feel you there, haha. Wow, well at least he got you to read the books even if he isn’t sticking to the deal he made 😂😳 Classic. My husband and I have been going through the Stormlight Archive books together (it’s his favorite series so they’re re-reads for him) but I keep getting through the books faster and finishing way before him because I just read so much faster than him, haha. And that’s good to know about B&B, maybe it won’t be too bad for me then! I don’t really do dark romances or horror so that’s why I was concerned but I’m definitely excited to check it out 😀
i'm glad you chose love & other words!! it's on my TBR too this month as a re-read 😊 i hope you enjoy it too!
