Wonderful review of a beautiful bible. I have a Kirkbride 5th edition that I love. Please continue to keep me and my family in prayers thank you for all the prayers.
This one is the 5th ed. The 6th edition will have Comfort Print. The regular edition will have a 9.5 font. They haven't announced the release date yet.
I'm guessing you mean mid size and large? Reviewing to buy here Dec of 2022. How much of a difference between the 8.5 font and the larger 9 font? Is the larger worth the extra .5 of a font? The mid size looks like a nicer book as far as pictures on card stock and large book pictures are on regular page stock I think? If you get this thank you for the help.
You are right about bonded leather today. Most bonded leather today is similar in feel and flexibility to the old synthetic covers. I purchased a 1978 Ryrie Study Bible on ebay because I wanted the side column references. The new editions put them in the middle. I don't know why? The side column references are much easier to read. As are end of verse ones. After I received the Bible, I seen it could easily be mistaken for genuine leather. Softer and more flexible than many of the genuine leather Bible's I own. However it is not, it is spanish bonded leather. I found this interesting and thought I would share. Thanks for your videos and Bible reviews.
I am very tempted to buy this one but I saw in someone else's channel that there's another one coming again next year from Zondervan, not sure if it's true or what would be the difference. But indeed this one is still great!
The minimum I would call a "large print" is a 10 pt font. The 9 pt Thompson I have I call a "larger print" because it is larger than the regular 8.5 pt font.
@@NewLifeOfAlbanyGa I just use the simple fact that the Thompson chain publishers are the only ones I have seen call a 9 pt "large print" (doesn't mean they are the only ones, just the only ones I have personally seen)....everybody else (that I have personally seen), only 10 to 11 pt (sometimes 12) are called "large print", with 14 pt and higher typically called "giant print". This scheme I personally agree with in deciding what Bibles I purchase.
*Hello. I've recently watched several UA-cam documentary videos of discovery of the buried city of Sodom & Gomorrah! IT'S VERY FASCINATING & EXCITING!!!! I checked in the archeology portion of my Kirkbride NASB 1993 Thompson Chain...and unfortunately, (under Sodom & Gomorrah) there are no photos of the Sulfer-Brimstone balls or any of the other interesting finds in back portion of the Thompson Chain. *I was wondering if any of the more updated bibles have any photos or interesting finds of Sodom & Gomorrah are in there. I surely hope there is! If anyone has an updated Thompson...let me know! 😇 Blessings*
Holden and Geislers book has it. I’ve done a few podcasts on it on the Biblical Archaeology Today podcast with Steve Waldron, available on Spotify and others.
@@NewLifeOfAlbanyGa Holden & Geislers? I'll have to look check that out. 😃 But what I meant was...is it in the Archaeology section (towards the back) of the Newer Thompson Chains. Because I think I read that it was discovered in the mid 90s..so was wondering if this was in the updated TC's. To me...(after watching those videos on UA-cam) is a major find for me! Also the videos on finding Pharoah's army of chariots at the bottom of the Red Sea. UA-cam videos blew me away!
Beautyfull bible i'm going to Buy that bible thankyou pastor Steve.
Amen!
I just ordered the leather soft brown, large print, KJV version version. I was impressed with the bonded leather black, large print.

And so much depends on other factors, but your probably right

I think it's 9.6 font. I bought the bonded leather black, and can read it easier than my Kirkbride standard version.
I also watch Paul Harrel.🤣

Appears to be.
