So based on my understanding, the source code is pretty much the base, or bottom line, or an entire program. So if someone takes a company's source code, then they have access to every single digit of data that company has, is that right? I've always been wondering what was the point in hackers stealing a source code whenever I saw a news article about a company's security being breached and the code stolen.
Not necessarily all of it. Most companies would store any important data in a database outside the main program, and most would use multiple programs to handle different tasks. The source code could contain connections to said database or other programs in case it needs to find relevant data, these would most likely require authentication like entering a password or such. The biggest risk is intellectual property. If I steal a programs source code, it means I have all the unique elements that make it function, which means I could then copy or reverse engineer said code and use it for my own purposes (creating a competing program, leaking to a rival company, etc).
Big companies don't just hand out their proprietary code to every & anyone. They provide open source code- is available to alterations and changes I think.
@marioguy119 where did you start off learning about coding? I'm an industrial electrician and robots will be running industries in the next 15-20 years and I'll be right there when those robots break down or need reprogramming. I've become even more interested to help my son is a freshman and taking basic electrical engineering classes some of which are basic coding. Plus I have a hacker I can't shake and AT&T & Samsung don't care so I'm eager to learn and know how to protect my electronics and computers the d*ckhead has gotten in and and made himself Admin somehow on my PC and laptop(s). He went to far and deleted my Xbox games and system data completely.
no the source code is for the application, company data is normally stored separately in a database. If the database details are also obtained they can take company data, but otherwise they just have everything to create the app itself.
CD Projekt are all liars...and yes I'm snitchin since my world keeps glitching CD Projekt are all liars...oops it just imploded guess we must reload it Like a marathon it will still glitch on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on AND OOOON AND ON AND ON...and on and on and on *OH GOD*
what will the new code be Writting, if not a number? we tether its functions to a symbol to keep said process/chain moving? in this era have we not made progress to a new form of writing in its systems
Straight.. Simple.. Specific..
Thank you 🙌
Thanks for watching!
Now I know why people are saying CDPR is screwed!
