It is not sur real, it is sore rel. For those who do not know sorrel is made from a flower that is boiled and desired spices added. It is a Christmas specialty drink in the past but now found in shops and homes year round. Many Caribbean people became innovative and drinks made from natural things like flowers such as the sorrel, bark of a particular tree we have mauby, bark from another tree called babwandey ( the latter is good for the man's sex life) What is the name of the apartment you are renting, and address?
Sorrel is a plant that is planted in a lot of Caribbean Island mainly Jamaica. Most people from other Caribbean Island use hibiscus flower the red ones as sorrel. Hibiscus comes in a variety of colours. We Jamaican plant the real sorrel, the hibiscus or shoe black is use widely, as edging in many gardens in Jamaica, and some Caribbean Islands. There is a big difference between sorrel, and hibiscus. David you are doing a good job exploring the different islands of the Caribbean. Keep Up The Good Job. Blessings.
