He’s right of course regarding Golden Age greats all having their own tone and style. You still get this with the likes of Gilels and Michelangeli, and up to Glenn Gould, who by this metric could be the last authentic genius of the piano. There clearly have been plenty of fine pianists since, just not as memorable or instantly recognizable as the greats of old.
So marvelously talented, cultured, disciplined and sensitive. Just love his love of music.
