9 German Chirstmas Markets in 1 day | Cologne, Dortmund, Düsseldorf, Duisberg, Essen & more

- Today we are visiting 9 German Christmas markets in different cities in basically 12 hours one day!
All of the cities are located in the North Rhine-Westphalia region of Germany which makes it convenient to travel to them.
On this adventure I am not alone I am joined with 3 friends, plus Blitzen was the one who came up with this crazy idea. It sounded crazy enough to try it. And without these guys this video would not be possible 🙂
Our goals for each christmas market was to:
Take a picture with a christmas tree
Eat one Christmas market food. In final stop we took more then one since we were pretty hungry.
Since it was a Sunday the markets were open from 11.00 till 21.00 at best. So the time was limited. Initially we wanted to go to ten but with the trains being inconsistent and this short time span it was just not possible.
Please note that time limitation in each market was very limited so we could not explore the full potential in each city like Cologne or Mulheim. So my final ranking was what it was :D

If you come for Christmas, consider Dresden or Nuremberg; easily the best Christmas markets in Germany!
Dresden's is cuter and more traditional imo, but it's easier to get lost (in a good way) in Nuremberg's old town.

Christmas markets look warm, fun and festive. I'd love to see them someday. Also, it makes me happy to see you and your friends doing this fun activity, it reminds me of how I and my friends had so much fun during the month of March in my part of the world.

i come from schleswig(danish: slesvig)-holstein, the most northern state of germany on the danish border. in denmark, there is a little town called Tønder with a house called "det gamle apotek"(it means "the old pharmacy", but it isn't a pharmacy yet, maybe because of today's health regulations), with a basement full of christmas products all year round.

I was planning to immigrate to Germany but its language is the hardest language I have ever encountered. The only sentence I didn't forget for some reason is

So I decided to immigrate to Spain 🇪🇸 becuase this language is one of the eaisest language thank god It doesn't have that weird made up deutsch grammar .

How to edit your videos?
Love the medieval style cities. Makes me feel like I'm in a fairytale, Christmas is truly a hotspot in Germany. I would definitely go there for the cakes and music festivals. However most Germans are secular and do it cause it's just a tradition that they're used to. Same here in the US

I mostly paid with cash but I was really suprised that some (or even most) i could pay by card

As a native Mülheimer I'm sorry. Even Mülheimer don't go to the one you went to. There are other (better) ones: the one in the Old Town, the one in Saarn, the one in the courtyard of a medieval castle, and for a few days there is even a Christmas thing on a boat on the Ruhr. So you really witnessed the worst Mülheim has to offer and I sincerely apologize. We are lame, but not that lame.

Travel through the Germany by train... Ho are you doing this, guys? A few weeks ago I needed to get from Amsterdam to Frankfurt an we choose train. We bought ticket with no changing trains buuuuuuut, a few moments ago, after train started to move, they said, that train going only to Dusseldorf, we are late and we can change train on another, which are late too... We paid for booking a places......................................... And of course, after changing train, our booking was invalid. And this train late too, during moving appeared additional two stops and train been so full, that people sitted on floor. And 300km/h now saved the trip. Maybe, better not travel by German trains after huge train travel around Netherlands, but by the way, I don't want use German trains after this trip.
