My understanding is that it can't pull in truly accurate data for 2023 as it only had access up to 2021!! Also, when I have asked it to cite references to back up the data included in an article, it produces links that are broken and show up as 404 errors. When asked about this, GPT acknowledges that the data is out of date and can't be relied upon. IMO you have to be really careful with any stats it produces after 2021, and it would probably be worth double-checking them. I'm happy to be told otherwise.
Yes correct, that's why I'd always get the sources and double check them before citing them, but its still great for pulling them out. Yeah its based on 2021 which is a downside for sure, but I believe its being updated to 2023 in the early part of this year.
@Flexxable hey Dan love your content! Since your last response, is it safe to say that open ai has already downloaded and collected data for this year, 2023?

As far as I know OpenAI is trained on data before 2020. It can’t give you data for 2023 so this data is not true and should not be used as a source.
