To fix all these problems we need to stop being at each others throats politically. We need to drop extreme partisan talk and find the common ground to move forward. We are so hung up on so much social crap that in the long run doesn't matter. My view is as long as people aren't infringing/hurting on someone else they can do what they want. We also desperately need term limits for Congress and end lifetime appointments for the Supreme Courts. We need a big push towards trades, farming, cops, and healthcare. We all want the basic stuff, and to work towards that we have to drop the petty differences.

@barn talk So I agree with your take on it being a bad business decision for Travis Kelce to go with the pfizer commercials (i literally put my head in my hands when i first saw it). However, I think it's pretty unfair to call a man disingenuous or "not real" because he believes a vaccine is good for the public. Just like noone should call a person who wants to be unvaccinated a "quack" or "uneducated". You can make a point (like the bad business decision point the son made), without attacking someone's character because they dont align with what you also think.
Great podcast with lots of knowledgeable for young or old. Very patriotic but in a way that’s healthy. This is the best podcast out there and it’s because these 2 guys put time and effort into this.

Keep up the podcast. Ryan here with the nursery questions from several episodes ago. Our barn is half built now,took your advice. Can you guys elaborate on your plan to separate your manure? Mostly curious on the process and how you get the water clean enough to give back to the pigs.

What variety of beans are common in the Midwest? In Idaho under irrigated land the best beans are 35 per acre.
Casey’s is a classic example of corporate failure. It’s most common with private equity managed business entities. But corporations in general, just ruin everything. It’s very common in our industry (ag). Look at International Harvester, it was just erased from the market place. How was it even possible to lose with a name and reputation like they had? A lot of other names either don’t exist, or are in name only.
The big money goes after these companies and uses the reputations to sell product, all the while, cutting corners, saddling the companies with debt, and sucking all the cash up to the parent unit. Then, those companies aren’t the same companies they were when an individual or family built them.
For your info, that amex uber credit can be used for uber eats.

I grew up farming in Iowa County, but live in a city right next to Madison. You could have stayed with me at my house and I would have driven you. I haven't been to WDE since I was Secretary in my high school FFA. "Here by the ear of corn..." You wanna talk expenses. I wanted my kids to eat rounded meals. I introduced him to Bacon-wrapped Fillet Mignon. Now he loves that at least once a week. Teens and eating 😂😂

@@macbrowning well yeah, it's called Midwest hospitality. Hos I was raised. If a neighbor needed a hand, we helped. If the town needed help, we volunteered for the Fire Dept, bring in crops, help repair things, plow snow, milk, put up hay. My Grandparents all lived through the Great Depression. They taught human nature principles.
As far as being a complete stranger. I must have missed the part where the hotel and four different Uber drivers were long time friends. Every time I have stayed in a hotel, used transports, flown overseas, rented vehicles, I never knew the owners, the pilots, the drivers, the company operators. They were all complete strangers. Heck, unless one grows all their own food, the farmers that produce the foods, are complete strangers.
Everyone is a complete stranger until you take the time to know them.

I love the way you guys look at things. Your concept of the European energy crisis is great not accurate but great fun. The problem as I see it is that in the upcoming presidential elections you have a choice between two geriatrics who are both years past their prime, most of us in Europe don’t think that either have the capacity to govern. I am at a bit of a loss what is the problem with some sports star promoting vaccines ? Are you guys antivaccers? We got hit pretty hard over here with the virus but the antivaccers have mostly gone quiet ( a lot of them died)

I really like listening to the the farming discussions. Sometimes the politic talk just feels like a regurgitation of Tucker Carlson with less polish and really hampers the experience of listening to the pod. A lot of these topics have so much more nuance than is portrayed in these discussions and it sometimes feels like listening to my crazy uncle rambling about something he heard on fox news. It's a free country and ya'll can discuss whatever you want, but maybe you could add timestamps in the video so we can skip sections like politics and get right to interviews and other farm talk for those of us who don't want to listen to politics.

Seems center left generally except on topics that impact them directly. Like for example taxes and agriculture trade policy, then they are more right leaning. It’s a mixed bag though imo.
