I do miss the old days when you had to go to a record store, pick a bunch of cds based on how cool the covers look and spend the afternoon listening samples to find hidden gems. How ever, randomly going through youtube at home with Lagavulin 16y isn't bad either. Example: this here song.
This album is absolutely stunning. I love every second of it.
Been waiting for this... 1:25 wow, production sounds good, structure is amazing, chorus will probably grow after multiple listens, their sound has definitely evolved. Overall pretty amazing, hope the album will also have faster songs though.

The sound is little bit different and here's why: "IN MOURNING commented: "The new album is called "Afterglow" and its story takes off from where "The Weight Of Oceans" ends. It’s a bit more complex than our previous albums and it has got a bit of a different sound than the older ones, a bit more alive like a band and maybe not always as studio corrected as our earlier material. However, the foundation of the music is still what we’ve always done and the key elements are pretty much the same but with some new additions and a few new twists and turns of course"."

I have been waiting for this for too long, but I wasn't disappointed one bit once it arrived.
This track stands out, by it self, as one of the best tracks that In Mourning has so far produced.
It is simply amazing. The lyrics are epic and the melody is just as progressively complex as expected to be.
But seeing to what In Mourning historically has offered us, i am guessing that once we get the complete context of the entire album we'll be seeing this song in an entierly new way. Probably even better than how we're portraying it in this moment.
Now..., If only it could hit 13/10 then this song would be able to compete against "Colossus".
Non the less a more or less flawless tune that only could be complemented by other "surrounding" songs.

Yeah, so far so good =) I like the new Omnium Gatherum record, cannot wait for the new Katatonia, Fallujah, Insomnium and Wolfheart ... but In Mourning are on a whole different level (at least in my opinion) =)
