  • What is the Yoke of Matthew 11:28? This is one of the most misunderstood concepts in the Scriptures. However when we understand the Hebrew Biblical culture and background, behind the culture of a yoke, it all makes sense. This video will make this part of the Bible come alive to you.
The Hebrew rabbis had their own system of teaching or hermeneutics that would guide the Hebrews in understanding the Scriptures. It was called a yoke. So, the Passage is not an invitation to trust Christ as Savior or to get saved, but to become a disciple of Christ. You want to watch this video here to get the basic idea on what is a disciple and what is a rabbi.

So, there is only one Solution left. And that is Jesus Christ. He took your sin, your shame, your guilt, and your punishment. He died on the cross and rose from the dead. Another good video, thank you Kees.
I'm Dutch, so the idea of just being able to disagree and discuss and still respect one another sounds wonderful!! It might also just be me though, not me being Dutch 😅
Anyhow I've already been bingewatching your videos today, so it's nice to hear about your playlists. You give a new perspective on things I already knew and am now trying to dive into. Thanks so much. God bless.

You're welcome. Yes, in the Hebrew culture the idea of arguiing is much more acceptable. Even right now, Israel is the most direct country in communication in the world. Holland is the second. My ministry here is in a country where they are all indirect. They tend to not say what they mean.
Thank you for watching and commenting on my videos!

Hi. "My yoke is easy and my burden is light" comes straight from the culture of slavery. The "yoke" was a wooden device that extended both shoulders outward so that the burden could be balanced, half on either side. This avoided putting a twisting force on the spine muscles, a major source of back pain. It's also why water carriers traditionally carried the load balanced on their head. Culturally, when the Bible refers to "servants" it means "slaves". Cheers, P.R.

Thank you, I hadn't heard that before. In the Hebrew culture, when Christ used it, it was referring to a system of prioritizing the Torah....

@@TheKeesBoerMinistryChannel Hi Kees. And thank you, I hadn't heard that. I guess "prioritizing" also means "don't put second year students into PhD classes. Jesus said, " I have many things to tell you that you cannot yet bear" (John 16:12-14) this can be interpreted as a "not until you're ready" statement too. To be honest, I think this is of the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth that leads into all truth. Cheers, P.R.
