    Thank you!
I got a Paramore shirt at my first concert when I was 12 and they gave me a large when I said XS and I didn’t notice until I got home. So it was thrown in the back of my closet and forgotten about until today. (I’m now 21 😂)
I had the sudden urge to make it look distressed and you made it look so simple and it really was. You helped me bring a meaningful shirt back into my wardrobe.

If it’s big enough you can turn it into a fitted dress! Use the torso for a tube dress and make the straps out of the sleeves or something like that? I always get my bandshirts in the biggest size so when they start to rip or whatever I can turn it into something else (backpatch, mini backpack, skirts or dresses etc)

OMG. I'm doing a dance showcase tomorrow (with a Nirvana song) -- and I NEEDED this so bad for my crop top. These shirts are expensive on Etsy or hard to find! Can't believe how easy it was. My shirt came out awesome. Thank you Morgan! You are a GEM

My shirt came out the same way after washing and bleaching it following an hour of beating out a grass fire. I also had a pair of distressed jeans as a bonus. LOL.

I have SO many amazing tshirts from concerts over rhe years...Metallica, Green Day, Smashing Pumpkins...a great Trainspotting T-Shirt and Bowie shirt. Typical fit T's just don't look great on hourglass gals...but add some cuts, distress and softener the edges and they take on a new life! I've always been hesitant to do this, but I'm so confident to do it after your vid! Thank you so much 🤘

I understand this, I would never distress a tshirt i got from an actual concert. I'm watching this to distress a Janet Jackson tee from the internet. But my tee from her actul concert I would NEVER touch!

Awesome! I'm going to try this this weekend. Since lots of people are super sensitive to bleach and the smell of bleach, I was thinking about how to wash the shirt. To keep the tearing from progressing, retaining the original look, wash on delicate in a mesh washing bag like the ones I use for my bras. If you have an extra rise cycle you can even use in-wash scent boosters! The beads never seem to dissolve all the way on the cold setting unless I use the extra rinse cycle. That's probably just my washer though. Thanks again! Can't wait to give this a try 😁

So I've seen alot of videos of people making the distressed shirts. I've noticed when some people are bleaching, some use peroxide after the bleach to set it. Does it make a difference using the peroxide after bleach or not? I'm trying to figure this out. I've make a couple distressed shirts but haven't tried the bleach yet.

My whole wardrobe is band tees, I wore them just how they looked, but after awhile I realized that regular shirts are not that good lookin' on me especially if they're baggy. So I distressed them and now they look epic!

  • @jenmontzingo

I think it helps to pay attention to where it would naturally bleach/fray before going buck wild. I find the more believable/natural distressed looks to have a certain pattern, rather the ones with TONSSSS of bleaching/distressing look fake/bought. Just my two cents.

    • @alexxiscoronado9139
      @alexxiscoronado9139 7 років тому +4

jenmontzingo many of my hand me down shirts get bleach on the back, shoulder and chest area mainly because all the ladies in my family bleach and color their hair. So making a distressed shirt I would totally bleach the higher parts of the shirt.

Hi! Love this tutorial ! So I'm having trouble trying to recreate this. I have done two different black shirts, two different kinds of bleach, both shirts are 100% cotton, and all the bleach spots come out a rust red/orange color. I can't get it to be that lighter yellow/white color. I let the bleach sit on one shirt for about 10 mins and then rinsed it, and the other I let sit over night then rinsed it, and the Same thing happened both times. What am I doing wrong ?!

    • @ooohlaa13

not all bleach is the same, the amount percentage of chlorine varies, some is watered down; chlorine is very toxic should be done well ventilated, also burns eyes and nasal membrane have been doing this for years found it by accident when i splashed bleach on my floor and mopped up with a tee shirt you can buy very good condtiion old tees at thrift stores instead of wasting a $13 tee from Target then it would be already somewhat distressed for 25 cents to $1. for real recycling rocks

    • @luanawilchek644

The final color you get is determined by the fabric and the dye used. Some fabrics are just going to.
      end up orange.
