Oh my goodness! I heard Samara Joy for the first time today when she appeared on Today's Hoda and Jenna. It's about time that a young person has shown the skill, and depth of voice range that this young woman has. I can only imagine how she'll sound after a few more years of singing will bring. She's already there. Bravo.

So many young singers are working in the jazz vocal field,with varying degrees of success. Samara Joy is by far the one people will be listening to years from now.I feel Ella, Sarah,Nancy Wilson,Betty Carter, Ms. McRae all smiling and wishing Samara the best. Thanks Emmet and co. for the tasteful and beautiful accompaniment.

It is rare that a young singer sings so far beyond her years. Her voice is exquisite, and her sense of timing and phrasing is impeccable. She combines the beet of Ella, Sarah and Carmen into her own unmistakable style. She is up for a Grammy, and I for one can’t think of a more deserving recipient.
WOW...I closed my eyes and thought I was way back in my day in one of the many cool jazz clubs. What a wonderful vintage voice in such a young person. This is real talent!
Samara's phrasing, musicality and range are outstanding. Musically wise beyond her years. So glad she is carrying on the tradition. 💕

Samara Joy has wonderful tone, control and delivery. This tune displays that. She has the ability to pull the listener into the song and feel immersed in it. A Wonderful rendition.

Samara has an immediately recognizable quality that comes along once in a generation. In the same way that Carmen MacRae or Sarah Vaughn were instantly clear from the first note, so is she. Impeccable time, tone, technique, expressive vibrato, and deep feeling.
This vocalist with this amazing group is such a reminder of the 'OLD' jazz classics...such a pleasant range, style with subtle textures blending beautifully with this superb group. Reminds me a great deal of the great Sarah Vaughn!! Emmet is so talented on the keys. Incredible listening!!!

Heard this lady for the first time last night on a local jazz radio program. Early this morning I tuned her up on the tube. Wow what a truly amazing wonderful vocalist . She simply is as good as it gets. Go on girl !
I just became aware of Samara today NPR. I could not believe what I was hearing. She has been infused with the spirit of the great ones.....Sara, Ella, Nancy, Gloria Lynn.
She mesmerises both audience and musicians alike.

The greatest, most beautiful and jazzy voice we can hear nowadays. I never liked this song which always bored me and made me sleep until I heard Samara's version. It's now one of my favorites and I came back to listen to it tens of times. I need to learn it in the same key right now. Thanks a lot for this great emotion !
I can hear my trombone along to this romancing Samara. Thing is, me like many, we were young once,and we hear a treasured talented voice, then the big joke is on me, I went into a different profession. Emmet you stuck with your dream, nothing better.

How many times have I heard Round Midnight? This version simply redefined it to my ja heart & soul.
🎼🌈🌺Samara Joy, une merveille de voix cette jeune chanteuse pourtant avec cependant beaucoup de maturité dans les plis de ses cordes vocales subtiles, maîtrisant le volume et l'espace avec art et de beaux silences. Une voix rare avec toutes les qualités du chant Jazzistique dans tous les registres. Une présence indéniable qui n'impose pas, sa voix unique suffit à nous donner le relief que ce sublime thème du grand Thelonious Spère Monk demande et qui est, à mon humble avis, au niveau des plus grandes comme celles de Sarah Vaughan,Helen Merrill, Jeanne Lee, Shirley Horn etc..etc.. , avec, est-il besoin de le souligner, de magnifiques musiciens à l'écoute sur un des, plus beaux thème de l'histoire du Jazz, un "Round Midnight" tout en finesse, tout en beauté. Oh, this is rich! Between Emmet and Samara, I could get lost in their exquisite dimension. What a singer! I hope the world gets commercially behind her and give her the feedback and bucks she deserves to keep that growth going.
It’s already happening! Eye has not seen nor ear heard and neither has even entered into her imagination, the amazing and incredible things the Universe has planned for this vocal prodigy! She is Divine and conjures up days of old and the musical greats who came well before her time but didn’t leave without passing the spiritual baton. Let the revival begin and continue to bloom.❤
