    Hey Jonathon. It’s actually more spacious in the aft Berth of the S28 than the popular SC29, we looked at an SC29 and rejected it due to the fact that your face was almost up against the port hole window facing the aft cockpit. I had a Kad 32 we replaced the turbo on that 2002 amongst other things. Engine bays on sea lines are notoriously difficult to keep clean due to belt dust we found, another great film chaps.

    I wish we could see more boats like this in the US. Had a Canadian built Doral 2000 270 SC similar to this, a great trailerable distance cruiser, but this slightly larger yacht is better, if in the same trailerable class. Hmm.. Lots of potential for trailerable boats like this!!

    I made it to end of this video and found it one of the better reviews out there. We are looking to upgrade from a very smart Crownline 250CR to something just a little bigger. Our boat has been dry stacked its entire life so it's as clean underneath as it is on top. The lift guys say that their lift is capable of lifting 10 tons but like to keep it to around 6 tons. They also don't like to go above 30' so it looks as though the S28 fits in nicely with that spec. Ours is fitted with the later Volvo D4 engine and we have no experience of the KAD's but there are enough boats out there with these units so they must be OK. Based upon this video an S28 could well be on our radar. Thanks guys.

    Love the video guys. Good info on a lot of boat. Though your use of left and right sound channels nearly sent me to buy new headphones 😁

    Not sure if it's just me but those of us with surround speakers, the sound from each of you talking keeps changing speakers left/right depending on who is speaking. Nice vid 👍

      Thanks for the comments, it is a setting in the microphones that we use which I’m going to have a look and see if they can be balanced. All the best, Andrew

    it would be nice to see the entire space down below and not just the one side showing the galley. Is there a couch on the other side?

      Hi, the other side is the shower room apologies if this was not made clear.

    Is it just me or does a 60000 pounds boat that is nearly 25 years old and only 28 foot long sound expensive

    Great comment, videographer a bit lazy. The commentator has to point at stuff we don't even see, next time please move the camera a bit more

    Excellent video with really good explanations. However, a lot of money for a project boat that needs work doing. 1998 in year is too old.

    “Might be a simple fix it might not “….. well that’s tosh isn’t it ? If it was a simple fix the vendor would have fixed it.

    • @ParkerAdams

      To be fair the previous owner never even turned on the radar so was unaware that it didn't transmit, It may well have been a simple connection but was sold saying it didn't work.

      @@ParkerAdams You don't believe that surely. He definitely would have checked and knew that it didn't work. I suspect that it'll be very costly to repair, isn't this something that you'd find out about?

    • @ParkerAdams
      @ParkerAdams  3 роки тому

      @@tonycamplin8607 many owners never turn on their radar and so to some they are invaluable to navigation. Offers can factor in the costs of repairs if it concerns the new owner. The boat was not advertised with Radar as it did not work when tested..

    • @tonycamplin8607
      @tonycamplin8607 3 роки тому

      @@ParkerAdams Thanks for replying, you certainly advertised the vessel correctly and honestly. I still think that if you, ie the owner, were selling such a vessel he would check everything first, it makes one wonder what else might be faulty. Hopefully anything wrong will be picked up during the survey.
      Afraid I'm getting very cynical in my old age.

      Prices for used boats like this are ridiculously high now but they are still selling fast. Maybe there'll be a correction coming at the end of the season, when some "new" boaters re-think costs against frequency of usage, as the weather turns wintery. I hope so.

    • @SurreyAlan
      @SurreyAlan 3 роки тому +1

      Boating isn't cheap. It seems you always get your money back on a well looked after boat as New boat inflation makes prices rise. Running costs if you keep this in a marina on the south coast are going to be what 10 grand a year based on nick Burnham's costs with his boat in a cheap council marina. It's actually cheaper to get a private pilots licence and fly every weekend. As Richard says, when a new boater sees what it costs for a few weekends a year they might be happy but what about the wife?

      Owned boats my entire life and I know what to expect but I simply wouldn’t spend exorbitant amounts on an old hull.

    SOOOO it is a POS.. but it floats eh? Alcohol and boats.. just about as good as alcohol and cars huh... there's a nice bit of wood here.. and a tinted window door.. and there is a power outlet in the shower incase you want to shave while you shower. Should have picked a better boat fellas...
