- Today is part 2 of my eyeshadow palette collection and declutter. I started with over 800 palettes and was able to get rid of more than 300, so I was able to make a lot more space and get organized. It feels so good to get this done!

Hi, my name is Jen I am 44 and live in Connecticut with my husband and 8 year old son. I am a stay-at-home Mom and full-time UA-camr with a degree in business with a focus in marketing. Before leaving work when my son was born, I was a commercial lender at a bank. I also worked at Sephora and Macy's doing visual merchandising.
I have dry skin with some hyperpigmentation and fine lines. I love natural makeup looks but occasionally go outside my comfort zone a little bit. On my channel you'll find lots of videos about drugstore makeup and drugstore dupes (those are my favorites to film!) but I also review high-end makeup as well. Jen, your content is just above and beyond. For example, going through the trouble to show us the Elf palette and what the topper can do to change the colors. Absolutely nobody else does this sort of thing for us in their declutters. As a stay at home mom and now I teach my son, I don't mind long content. I play while I do my stationary chores,
I would love videos of using older products! I think it's great when we appreciate what we already have, and sometimes I see people use something in a way I hadn't thought of, and it helps me appreciate my things all over again!
Absolutely. Not all of us were here when it was a "hot" thing. But I appreciate reviewers not showing us discontinued palettes.

Whew! I learn so much in your declutters. I buy lots and barely wear any! Going to try to use what I have this year. There are so many repeat shades in all palettes. The cost has gotten ridiculous for tiny amounts of colored powder!
It amazes me how thorough Jen is, even decluttering, we get mini reviews, comparisons, swatches, recommendations, and not only that, she remembers all those details about the palettes, the formula, the pigmentation (or lack thereof), how they blend, etc., it blows my mind 🤯... I was GLUED to the screen this entire video. It was great to hear about palettes I’ve never even seen before. This made me want to put eyeshadow on my eyes so bad haha
I love that you don’t throw out tons just to say you did a declutter. I like that you keep what you want. It’s your money. I think it’s so wasteful when they just toss almost their entire collection. ( plus it is your job!)
I’m taking a quick break 2.35 hours in to get a snack. Part 2 is even better than part 1. My blood pressure is 110/70 and I’ve learned a ton more about eyeshadow. Jen I love your special demonstrations and swatches and the fact you still show us palettes you already know you are keeping or decluttering. Face it. You love us!!!! 😂❤❤

Jenn, I always love your declutters and it doesn’t matter how long they run because eventually I’ll watch the entire thing- usually all at once. It is a bonus that you say a little bit about each palette. Very helpful, informative and interesting.

Wow, this reminds me of how a majority of palletes have shades that i will never ever use! I have mature (55yo) hooded eyes and warm tan skin. I dont use bold colors or glitters (only satins) , so I would say only about 20% of shades in a palette I would ever wear. The only palette i use 100% of is the 5-pan Bobbi Brown Bare Nudes Eyeshadow Palette. Beautiful formula and flattering tones to the shadow colors.

What an incredible collection you have, Jen! Thank you for going through each one and discussing pros and cons. You are right about some of the shimmers not looking anything like what they swatch. Good to know. I will bet you are glad to declutter some of these and open up some room for MORE palettes! grin.
I’m grateful to you for doing this-showing us what they are, why you like or don’t like them, and giving us feedback on formulas. This is the most comprehensive eyeshadow palette declutter that I’ve ever seen. And it helped me immensely. What struck me the most is how few of the expensive ones tempted me. I guess I’m thoroughly middle class with tastes to match, which works for me. What also became clear is that I don’t like the way many of the palettes were curated. There appear to be too many similar colors in many palettes and odd token cool or warm colors thrown into palettes for a reason that I can’t fathom. I was surprised, too, by how little originality there is in the expensive palettes. Even though ColourPop is guilty of reusing colors more than any other brand, from what I’ve heard on YT, they have some unique and affordable palettes that have made me regret purchases from other brands. Live and learn, right?
I enjoy shop-my-stash videos. They encourage me to use what I have instead of needlessly adding to my collection

You will have to pry those Milani soft&sultry and pure passion palettes out of my cold, dead hands. Why milani ever decided to discontinue those and change the formula is mindboggling.

wow 515 eyeshadow palettes...it means you can use a different palette each day and in year and 5 months you would get to use the first eyeshadow palette again :) That must be over 6000 single pans of shadow if we count the average palette as having 12 eyeshadows. Wow....mindblowing! It is cool to see all those shadows in one place.

I have several of those revlon quads and love them!!!! They are sooooo good!!!! Revlon has quite a few wonderful products that no one talks about!

I’ve found some of my best pallets from watching declutter videos. I learn about brands that I’ve never heard of before. And I thought I had a lot of eyeshadow pallets. 😲
I have wanted the UD Naked 3 since it came out. I have discovered that the ELF Rose Gold Nude is basically a dupe (just 2 less shades) which I didn't realize when I bought it (just thought it was pretty), so I will probably never get the UD now.
I always love hearing about your husband getting the Vice palette for you. It is so sweet.
I got the naked 3 at Ross for under $15 so if you still want it then you may as well peek.
Rimmel also makes a pallette that is a dupe for UD3. Not that I need it, I keep eyeing it.
I myself have quite a lot older palettes and I do find that they stay good and well performing much much longer than most formulas today!! ABH was on of first brands where quality seriously declines after a few years but before shadow was fine performing for years and years. Which might not be relevant for people who don't use palettes that regularly or constantly throw away and buy new ones but I still find it interesting. It's nice in my opinion that things didn't go bad as quickly especially if you really like a palette. And companies really do that to force you to buy new stuff

Pretty Grunge is great for people who thought the Empowered palette was beautiful but knew they’d rarely wear it because of how warm it is. I don’t remember who said it, but they called Pretty Grunge the Empowered palette’s cooler toned sister. I was tempted by Empowered and ND My Dream Palette, but held off for that reason, so Pretty Grunge kinda fills that slot for me. It’s warm, but not so warm that I wouldn’t use it much.

Jen you inspired me to do a declutter of my entire makeup collection, thank you. As far as "keeping palettes for the sake of comparison", there really is no need to hang onto any palettes that have been discontinued. Understandable to want to keep certain palettes for sentimental or nostalgic reasons, totally get that. Have you heard of Project Beauty Share? They take partially used makeup and toiletries. There is a woman's shelter not too far from where I live and they do the same. I would recommend donating your decluttered makeup items instead of just throwing them away, unless they have gone bad.
These were the first videos of yours I watched, and I did watch all of both!! I am so happy to see someone with a collection even bigger than mine!!! I just got number 616 and am still buying, just not as many as I used to! I have yet to do a declutter, like at all, but I feel like it's time. I am such a collector, I have a really hard time getting rid of things that aren't doing me any harm, they don't take up valuable space in my home, and haven't caused me to go into debt. My collection is all contained in my sunporch that I converted into a beauty room with my vanity and my Stranger Things collection of various items. It is my happy place and no one can take that away from me!!!

Wow! What a haul! I watched most of this last night and finished it this morning. It's amazing how much accumulates over time. I have probably just a fraction of your inventory, and every time I go through it, there seems to be something to say about each piece, and that has been fun! There is always a bit of "no I want to keep it," but I'm just out of room, so out it goes! I took a pictoral inventory of what I think is the final decision on what I'm keeping, and I'm still thinking about cutting more out. I'm doing that with a lot of other types of items at home too. While kinda bittersweet, it's been a lot of fun too. Way to go Jen!

One thing for sure Jen, I own six Moira new bigger palettes, few came with greeting cards insides, they are so beautiful and the formulas are as good if not better, IMHO, as high end.
