  • With my grow room finally finished; I am getting all of those hardy hibiscus seeds I collected last summer and fall started in my new grow room!!! I can't wait to see the results of all of those crosses I did last season. Stay tuned for updates throughout the growing season. A BIG SHOUT out to my cousin, Rob, with ‪@brownthumbnursery‬

I just watched this one again. I’m anxious to see your trial garden to see what those are looking like after a couple years of growth!

Thank you so much for presenting this information. Thanks to you I can't wait to try some cross pollination of my own this summer. So exciting :) One question, will you be pinching your seedlings at all? Also, may I ask how regression works? One question is turning into three... Do you think it makes any difference which flower you use as the male or female in the final outcome? Thanks again, love your videos!

You're welcome! I hope you give it a try. I really enjoyed giving it a try last summer and I am looking forward to seeing my first blooms very soon. I will be posting more updates as they begin to bloom. I didn't pinch back my seedlings, but I did cut them back recently because they were becoming too tall. I stuck the cuttings in a cup of water and the cuttings have started to produce roots!!! This appears to be a very easy way to propagate hibiscus plants. Regression could play a roll in the outcome of what you are hoping to achieve. I'm not sure whether or not it makes a difference which flower you use as the male and female yet, but I hope to have an answer to that question when my seedlings begin to bloom. My hypothesis is that it does make a difference, but only time will tell with this experiment. Thanks for watching and subscribing to my gardening channel.

I ended up pinching mine when they were about the same size as yours in this video. They are leafing out nicely. Wish I had let some get tall and leggy so I could cut them back and propagate as you did. Loving this learning journey. Thanks for sharing what you're discovering and also for your reply.
