Not the churches I love. I would still go in hopes it would be as good as it was. Maybe I just went on a couple of bad days.
Churches has bad quality controls from franchise-to-franchise. BUT, when you find one with good quality standards in terms of chicken and oil freshness, it is truly delicious. Juicier and overall tastier than Popeyes under the conditions described, IMHO.
You can get those jalapenos at any store. Just look in the pickle section and look for San MARCOS pickled jalapenos or if they are out look for La Costena jalapenos. Here is a secret tip, if you like the hot sauce that a lot of real family owned taco and Mexican restaurants serve in little plastic tubs on the side, when you order your breakfast tacos. All you have to do is take the stems off the pickled jalapenos, and then throw all of the contents of the can including the carrots and juice into a blender, and blend it until it almost becomes liquid. The liquid from the jalapeno and not so much the pulp is what is treasured by Latinos. The vinegar, oil and heat is out of this world when adding it to any food. Since the jalapenos have the oil and vinegar, the hot sauce will last about 6 months in the fridge and about two to 3 months in room temp.
