And honestly it's okay to want length... Am tired of everyone being like "health is what matters!" Um some of us want both 😜
Right! 💯
PERIOD! 💯
Yes..that's when sometimes you gotta cut the damage off to get both ugh...but its worth it at the end!
Omg same! All about health but want that tailbone length hair 😭
Right!
Who else has felt like their curls have been the same length FOREVER? 🙋🏾♀️🥲
Mee😩
Me!
Meeeeeeee, it’s such a struggle
Meee
i feel like the front of my hair has been the same length since i’ve cut it but the back of my hair is long
I just have to say how much this women has inspired me to not be insecure about myself and to be happy to be me and to feel positive about life in general so I just want to thank you Lisette for your inspiration and more😁🤗😍
EXACTLY!!! Such an inspiration xxx
11:44 Be patient!
6:15 stopped coloring after bleaching to restore broken see-through ends
7:11 stopped getting professional haircuts to restore length
7:47 five minute scalp massages
8:05 leave hair alone, including protective styles (except for occasional wigs)
8:24 clarifying shampoo
8:37 wash hair once a week, with thorough lathering shampoo to reduce product build-up
9:49 not picky about conditioners or sulfates, but use leave-in before styling / 10:57 deep condition for 10-15 min in shower
10:19 let scalp breathe sometimes
11:30 low heat with diffuser
Good luck on your journey girl! Beautiful hair and channel!
I had to pause mid video and say this... Sis, I'm so sorry we made you feel bad about your hair. While our intentions were good sometimes we as people don't know how to say things in the most kind way. I was definitely one of the people that mentioned the damage, and I'm sorry it didn't come out right and as result hurt you.
It takes a lot of character/maturity to realize your own mistakes and to hold yourself accountable and most importantly to apologize once noticed. I give you probs for that girl 👏🏽
Your hair has definitely gotten so much fuller! You can really see the health. It’s so pretty! Great tips!
I see how much her hair has grown . Her hair is so curly.
So stunning ✨✨✨✨
Omg HEY GURL HEYYYY I haven’t been watching your vids lately but your 5 am morning routine has helped me wake up early I don’t wake up at 5 but that vid helped me be productive:))
OMG Natalie watches Lisette!!😍😁!
Natalie is the sweetest always commenting on her fellow UA-camrs friends ❤️😍
Omg hey I love ur videos sooo much u are so beautiful!
I watch your videos all the time!!
I definitely agree with you about not needing professional haircuts all the time. Like you said I feel like my shape looks a lot better when I have regular cuts but I always lose a lot of length. I only cut and colour my hair every year and a half or so. Your hair is looking so beautiful! 😍👏🏽💖✨✨✨
Wow you have beautiful hair
the curly hair diaries always continue 🧡🧡
Yayyy💞I just did the big chop 6 hours ago
Omg congratulations👍🏾😄 how did it feel
@@Shxnty_sd good, but I'm regretting it now, because I can't get my 4c hairs curls to be defined. I literally look like a boy😭I was going for that type of side part, super cute defined curls and cute edges type of look, but NO looks like my 4c hair ain't cutting on that😔
@@Shxnty_sd and I'm going to school tomorrow 😭
@@P_inktart I feel you that was like me 😂 trust me it’s rough at the start but if you leave your hair alone Or do you some protective styles it will grow so fast that you wouldn’t even know noticed that you cut off your hair
@@P_inktart do you have a wig
i wish i'd have your hair , they are SO pretty, i mean these CURLS are ....
Every one's hair is beautiful ❤️ in the past I wanted my hair to look like others but then I realized that it is not possible. Embrace your hair!🥰
@@adikalilaabraham3198 you are SO right
@@adikalilaabraham3198 yeah used to do the same thing and it did NO favours to my hair. When I stopped doing that and actually looked at my hair for a second I realised how beautiful my hair was and I did not need to try and get it to look like other peoples.
Omg. This video is a must! I started my natural hair journey months ago. I'm a little down about it bc of the two textures but patience is key! Btw love your content.
Your hair is so pretty. I need to stop being so lazy and washing my hair every 10-14 days and do it every 7-10 days cause I think that and lack of protein treatments (just got some curlsmith ones) is the reason why my hair is at a standstill in length.
Rice water
Yes, I use it every wash day!
@Peppa Pig right and some people have low porosity hair, and doing rice water might just make it dry and give it protein overload
Be careful so you don’t experience protein overload!
@@naomi8348 i seen a girl on UA-cam , I forgot her name.. but she had low porosity hair, and she used rice water and it works for her. So maybe give it a try just to see!! Cus I use rice water and it grows my hair so fast
the growth is incredible! After growing up bullied for my hair type, I started wearing wigs or perms or anything to change my hair from what it actually was. 3 years ago I stopped everything but recovery treatments and this year I’m going without the wig for the first time. Still working on being so self conscious but I love my hair more and more now
👏🏽 it's such a journey!
The sitting in the salon chair, seeing the stylist wreck your hair, and not say anything because you don’t want to come off rude is soo real. And you have that hope that it’s gonna turn out okay but it doesn’t.
I love how we’re going through a hair journey together! I got a big chop like at my shoulders in january/february and trying new products and methods and now my hair is already growing faster then it did before i did the chop so it really is a learning process and patience!
I’m currently on my curly hair journey after perming for yearssss and the curls have been coming in *QUICK* these past five months so far.
Good job hun💕
Any tips I have been Transitioning for 4 months any products?
@@zara_2403 To be honest, it all depends on how your hair reacts to products but for me, since I’ve been perming my hair since I was eight and I’m 18, these past five months I’ve been using Shea Moisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Restore line and that helps with chemically processed hair which is what I was dealing with. Maui Moisture’s damaged hair mask is good too.
@@serenityh. Try Olaplex no 3!! That works to repair damaged bonds in your hair, especially if your hair is processed. Should make a big difference!
On a serious note, watching luhhsettys videos from an insecure young age seriously motivated me to start acknowledging my curls rather than straightening it 24/7. 3 years later my curls are flourishing and almost down to my waist☺️
Coming from a girl that is struggling this is refreshing to see😭
I think we're all struggling😭😂
Having multiple curl types has been my biggest struggle 😂 for the longest time I thought the front of my hair was damaged but it's just different from the back. Thanks for the tips!
She’s just so pretty like wtf 🥺😍😍
Your hair looks amazing and healthy. Thank you for these tips Lisette. I am on my natural hair journey and my hair also has been damaged due to color/heat damage. It's been a year since I have gone natural and I can see the difference in my hair and curl pattern.
Needed this. I broke down and relaxed my hair last summer and after my most recent touch up, I saw how horribly damaged my hair is so I’m growing it out to do the big chop again. I miss my curls and I’m ready to grow them back healthy and long
same I used the pandemic to transition back to curly hair
I needed this because I recently just straightened my beautiful curls and damaged them so badly!😔😔 going to create a whole new routine to get my curls healthy and long again with the tips that you shared. Thank you!
“third hair journey” i felt!! 😭
we love to see growth🥰
I definitely feel you! In October, I colored my hair jet black after being blonde & I got it cut! That’s one of the best decisions I’ve made for my hair yet! Blonde will literally tear ur hair apart!
Your hair looks so full and healthy now! I love seeing curly hair progress 😍💛
The thing about silicones is that, its okay to use as long as you clarify your hair every *4-6 weeks*(NOT EVERY WEEK) to prevent buildup. But if you're someone who doesn't clarify with a shampoo that has sulfate in order to get the silicone out then you're gonna have buildup of that silicone.
I clarify every week due to scalp issues lol
Yes you need sulfates to remove that silicone or else it’s just gonna build up
@@stariehearts2366 good for you, hope your scalp gets better
@@sonrisaverdean757 thank you I really appreciate that. Hope you have a blessed day ❤️
perfect timing i just cut my hair.. again😂
same
Girl fr. But I got braids and got two inches of new growth already 🙏🏽😭
@@trinitystout6779 yessss
I literally gasped at how amazing your hair and color looked at 1:13. But either way that you style or color/not color your hair, you are so naturally beautiful that it doesn't matter. Thanks for sharing
i love this so much my hair was breaking off in like 2018-2019 but when quarantine hit i learned more about my hair and now im hair is so much healthier and stronger. So glad we both got to go through our hair journey together!!!
Oh wow, I love the fullness of your hair. I feel like I attended a class with a hair specialist. So sorry for what happened to your hair. I am also on a hair growth journey.
Hi Lisette you actually posted your video of your big chop back in the day in the same week I did mine. It is nice to see how similar our natural hair journeys have been. My hair also started to flourish in 2020. Thank you for all your updates
Anyone else notice how absolutely amazing she looks in all her videos. I have barely gotten out of bed the past week.
Same lol
I've been wearing a bonnet on all my work calls, with the camera off obvs 😭
I paused at 11:12 to comment ❤❤❤ You're doing wonderfully!
I personally do the exact same steps. I remember when I was about 15-16+ (am 20 now) being interested in dyeing my hair to change it up, but ever since my aunt (who has cosmetology experience) & my mom advised me over how my hair's naturally as-is beautiful; to reconsider, - I actually ended up growing to recognize my natural hair color & loving it instead.
So, I made an oath to actually not dye my hair & overtime, I'm happy on said decision. I've come to realize, there is not a single hair box dye that compares nor ever beats my own natural hair color. So that's my personal experienced intake over it lol, am grateful.
I just got my ends evenly trimmed a few days ago, but told the stylist that I wanted the growing front sections of my hair (exactly relatable to your situation; I accidentally had a bangs-gone-wrong case of my side hair + front pieces cut into bangs & they were growing great until I had my stylist in the past cut it to even it out which helped greatly but also affect my length regrowth- Anyway, I told her to not cut the front but to even out the back only & thankfully that worked out for me).
I've noticed, products surprisingly grease up my hair, which used to not happen as much. And plastic combs ie create stringy and/or static hair on me. It's like coming to realize I've developed fine hair overtime, likely in due to heat styling, and my ends also got mistreated, so I've recently got a clean trim for it which helped a Ton. Thankfully my ends grow quickly. My bangs' front area is what I'm really wanting to grow out again... I feel it'll take at least another year or two to have it more ideal.
I did a coconut oil treatment, clarified washed about 3x & deep conditioned + then airdryed & styled it to where it lasted me a very long time. Until the said haircare salon appt I had recently.
Hair growth' an interesting journey.
I feel simply eating up our proteins, drinking Lots of water, resting up as we can, and simply not focusing on it as much... To also following said steps, will be what helps our hair grow. Treatments like coconut oil every now & again as prepoos, genuinely help. I left it in for 2 hrs+.
💯💯🙏🏼♥️
I feel like the "lazier" a person is with their hair the healthier the hair is.
I don't know if it's just me but I hate detangling my hair with conditioner, I have to detangle it with shampoo. I don't know why but I just have to.
Yes!! In the beginning of my journey I was doing soo much to my hair and it would not grow. Now I do the bare minimum and it works so much more!
I agree 100%. For years and years I was following the CGM or an all natural routine, I was doing masks/hot oil treatments, protective hairstyles ecc. and my hair was not growing at all. I later noticed that the less I wash/touch my hair the more it grows! All I need is a conditioner, a leave in and a gel. Period! And the weird thing is that my hair grows like weed when I use silicones 🤨🤔
@@ilariaf.7421 Products with silicones also seem to work better on my hair than the ones that don’t have them.
MEEEEEE!!!
@@shezmeister2771 I can relate so much! The climate were I live is full of humidity and with out silicones my hair would be too frizzy.
I soon as I started watching the video I literally said 😍😍 omg her hair looks so much healthier and beautiful 😂
When you stopped bleaching it I knew you were serious about growing it out
Same here, and this is why I love you and your channel because it's honest, real and amazing. And really happy for you!
I needed this video. I feel like my hair has been stuck for about 2 or 3 years now and I’m like damn what’s the issue. It gets really frustrating. Thanks girl! 💞
🎶Well, black girl magic is sometimes blue 🎶
🎶Might break a hairband or two 🎶
😍😙❤
this was so informative! now we need to see your updated curly hair routine!🤎🤩✨
I just have to say, whatever hairstyle you have and no matter what colour it is, you will always be beautiful. Thank you so much for this tip video. it's great to hear that you had a lot of support from the right people❤️
Your makeup, your hair, and your outfit just makes you look absolutely ✨beautiful✨
WOOOOOO.... THE QUEEN FINALLY BACK👑❤️❤️
Gorgeous every since the day I’ve discovered you. 😭🙏🏼🥺
Health leads to length. Make sure your scalp is healthy. It is the foundation to growing healthy hair. I hope everyone reaches their desired hair goals 😀
lisette, have you ever tried rice treatment before? it could benefit you, since you're trying to healthily grow your hair out. please try it after researching! i love your hair so much, i wish you well on your hair journey! :)
I have been watching you for YEARS and every time you make a hair struggles video or anything I love it because my hair/head is the same way and this is always so helpful when idk what’s going on with my hair
i lost at “it started to get see
through” 😭😭😭
Was just browsing through your videos...definitely noticed the growth...your hair looks so bouncy and long in the last video aw🥰😍🤗
I definitely needed this video Lisette! I feel like your journey is soo similar to mine... I've been obsessed with bleaching and dyeing my hair for the past 6 years just becuz blonde hair looks good on my complexion and I get bored easily. After I got highlights for my birthday last year, I made the conscious decision to give color a much needed break. I've been natural my entire life with the exception of some silk presses and my hair hasn't past collar bone length.
Not youtube notifing me about Lisette's new video as soon as I start watching the truth or drink video! 🤩
It’s so crazy how long I’ve been watching you. I swear since like high school. And were the same age so damn near growing with you. Your hair has come so far. Proud of you boo! 😘
Yesss😍 we all have noticed your hair journey. Glad you’re in a better place✨✨✨
i know this is an old video but this video helped let me know i’m not the only one to go through this turmoil of color damage. i only bleached my hair once by a professional but my hair was damaged as if i did it a million times. after, 4 months im finally seeing some progress with my hair. this video helped me look forward to the future of the health of my hair and that my hair can look like yours one day with a good routine. thank you lisette 🥺💕
girl Ive been watching you since middle school and I still watch these videos to this day even tho I know how to take care of my hair now (literally because of you) you always be giving new advice and tips to do and their the best!
Protective styles can change your life! Keeping my hair in sew ins for 2-3 months at a time grew it so much. And lots of braids!
I’ve been following ur channel forever and I’m so impressed by how long ur hair gotten
i have a similar problem where edges grow a lot tighter and slower, and it’s so much shorter than the rest of my hair so ty for this video!!
Hii Lisette,
I just wanna say, thank you so much! From a young age I started watching your videos. In 2013 ( i was like 11 years old) I saw this video of you and you had your big chop. I was so inspired by you that I also did a big chop. And now 8 years later in 2021 my hair is soooo healthy and long. It has never looked this good! Thank you for helping me to embrace my hair just the way it is❤
girl i was around during 2018 and ur hair now looks so much healthier and i’m happy that ur happy ab it 🥺🤍🤍
Thanks Lisette. You're the only curly girl with 3c hair that I can trust on YT. Our hair is kind of the same length, too! I appreciate your honesty and your content. Even just seeing you chilling with a bedhead bun is a relief, because I can see myself in that, too!
I be wanting to know how to start my curly journey ✨💯
The encouragement I needed! Ive been feeling so sad about my hair because its just straight up damaged and I have no idea what to do
You’re always so pretty but also, all black curly hair would look so fire on you as well!! Something new :) or even brown. Love how your hair looks currently
Your makeup is ON POINT today!
Been waiting for this video for ages as I saw such a transformation in your hair and I’ve suffered hair thinning from 2020 stress and grieving that my hair has completely thinned 💔 Thank you for yet another helpful curly hair video, you’ve been my go to for curly hair tips for many years now 🥰
this video literally inspired me so so much I went through the same struggles she did and now I been doing the same thing leaving my hair alone putting it in natural box braids like my momma did when I was young and I’ve seen growth from the last time I did this style a couple months back 💞
Your hair looks a thousand times healthier! And if you miss color ors hair wax colors are truly amazing
THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS!! finally someone speaking up about that gap that devacuts leave you with! i thought it was just me.
omgg thank you for this!! my hair is so see through & I thought it was just me. i’m definitely going to try these. 🖤
I’ve been following you for years and loved this update!! xo
This was really helpful!! I’m definitely gonna be using some of these tips! Just looking at the pics & videos of how your hair used to look has me shook at your results now 😳 it definitely has grown & came a long way! You were so blonde omg but I absolutely LOVE the honey blonde color it is now, you should keep it this way 😍
Our journey’s have literally been the exact same since subscribing to you 5+ years ago. I’ve also made the decision to stop getting highlights and getting my 6mo devacuts. My goal is to retain my length and see it’s true potential as well. You got this girl!
Your hair looks so good 😍😍 I’m going through the same exact thing with my hair, definitely going to stop bleaching it
I’m so so so happy and proud of you and I can’t wait for the new hair routine vids to come 😭💞
Color affects my hair the same way. I have your same texture and pattern. I wear the blondes but now I use a curly wig or straight and have it colored to the death when I choose lol. And leave my hair aloooooone. Period. Nothing more beautiful than those brown natural strands that god gave us anyway ❤️
You hair looks so much better and beautiful.
Your hair looks absolutely amazing!!! Thank you so much for this video🤍
this is so helpful, this is what happened to me and i kept thinking my hair wouldnt ever grow back
This was so helpful!! Restarting my natural hair journey (month 2) and can’t wait to see my long luscious curls again! I always felt like our hair was just alike and I’m getting good vibes from this video!
This literally speaks to me. I had a lot and I mean A LOT of heat damage and I did a lot of the same things you mentioned here which really do work. Glad to know I’m not alone!
I feel like having completely dark hair would suit you so well❤️
You’re hair is absolutely beautiful. I can’t wait until my hair starts to grow more . Hopefully your tips help
Waiting on this video for forever !!! Hair is looking bomb
I don’t color mine but mine still looks like it isn’t growing 😩
You should try some hair masks or hot oil treatments :)
I feel like thats just story of my life with curly hair, then you straighten it and you're like 😱
How is it possible that she is THAT pretty?! Omg 💕
This video was so good for the soul rn 🤎 made me think about what I really need to do to maintain my hair journey!! 👩🏽🦱
lisette your hair looks so good with absolutely no product in it!!! you should try it more often, and maybe wearing it out because you truly look beautiful
OMG your hair looks SO good!!
YESSS since quarantine I've had to basically leave my hair alone and let me tell you the Growth I got was amazing !!!
I needed to see this! My hair is STRUGGLING and a lot of the things you said is what I'm seeing now with my hair. I'm going to try what you did
We literally have the same hair texture so I definitely know the struggle lol this is super helpful 💕
I actually needed this video🥺 thank you so much lisette💜
As soon as the notification came uppp squad😩❤️❤️
Thought i was the first but people do live here.😩
Omg I love the color of your hair right now! Not too blonde, but dark with golden and blonde highlights!
Okay, you made me feel better after saying you use silicone conditioner because I’ve never noticed a difference when I don’t use silicone. Maybe my hair is just used it. THANK U! 💜 Love this video. Much Needed.
Can you pleaseeee do an updated curly hair routine? My hair is “see through” and I just want it to grow and be long😭
So glad to hear this!! Love the journey
