本曲以浙江民间小调《知心客》为素材创作，乐曲在由苏州民谣连缀而成的《大九连环》中娓娓道来，一派草长莺飞，杨柳醉春烟融融之景。乐曲以优美的旋律，清新的格调生动地描写了江南水乡春回大地的温暖与生机。
