I love how the writers referenced movies/shows for some of the characters' dances and executed it perfectly! Tabitha's dance at 1:43 was from "Never Been Kissed", Jean and Amara from "Coyote Ugly", and Rogue and Kitty in a different episode from "Buffy: The Vampire Slayer". Production rocked this series!
I had this weird recorder tou that could record up to 5 audio clips 30 seconds long and I remember being so excited for this episode to rerun and recorded the song and played it back again and again and cried when the toy broke 😂😂
that's because the animators were movie animators before they did tv animations. one of their notorious animated movies is the swan princess franchise.
@@penny1545 yeah, I saw the episode recently but honestly for the era this was made ago, when everything wasn't political and there wasn't to many strong female characters that weren't tomboys, I feel this episode did pretty well with the female empowering theme, they didn't put down the man or try to say that girls are superior, they just made a group to be fun and show girls can kick ass too, simple message but again there weren't a lot of this type of scenes back then.

It always did feel a little odd to me that Charles runs a 'school' in the original show but we like....never see the mansion function as one. They take in Jubilee but then you only really see her doing X-men stuff afterwards. Even if we take the school as being ONLY concerned with teaching mutants to control their powers...that's never really shown outside of combat training in the danger room. Most of the time the X mansion basically serves the same function as the T tower in the Teen Titans cartoon, just the place where all the team live together at.

X-Men Evolution animators when animating girls dancing were on god mode
They would base it of real people dancing - like that time they took a dance scene from Buffy The Vampire Slayer.
They rotoscoped a scene from The Craft in this episode. They traced over live action quite a bit for this show.
