Eric Avery is the only one who tells the truth about the travesty/tackiness of what Perry Farrell has become. Eric was the deep, dark soul of Jane's Addiction.
He's the opposite of the Farrell show.
Really? Then who wrote all the lyrics, vocal melody, and the arrangement?
The bass lines Eric wrote are unmistakably part of JAs personality and best songs eg, Mountain Song, Three Days.
I was at the Sydney show and i could tell Eric did not want to be in the band anymore .... sort of stayed on his side of stage , stayed away from Perry . thanks for doing the Aus shows tho , amazing show imo.

I Like Em Big by Perry and Etty. I can understand why Eric doesn't like that. Personally, it's cool that Etty wants to be creative. I just think she should be on her own with other creative types without Perry's help OR involvement. Perry's creativity got unfocused when he veered into non- Jane's territory.

Eric is absolutely right. Perry's wife should absolutely NOT be dancing onstage with Jane's. Even Prince was smart enough to have his dancer Mayte STOP being his on stage dancer once they got married. But guess what...it's 2022. Eric is back in Jane's and Etty is still on stage with the band doing her dancing thing with two other females. Oh My F$#@ing God! Wonder how Eric is dealing with it NOW? LOL Here is my 2 cents...GET RID OF ALL DANCERS ON A JANE'S TOUR. EVERY SINGLE ONE...GET OFF THE STAGE! That being said, even if Perry wanted to stop using Etty and the other dancers, I don't think he could because of fear of destroying his relationship with Etty.
Why does Eric come off so burned out and like ummmmmmmmm?...Seems like a dude with such opinions would be more on it?
Because the whole situation is impossible and depressing and just emotionally wears you out knowing it could never again be as good as you want it to be. I relate so much to what he is saying, I was also bass player in a band with a delusional narcissistic maniac for a singer.
danswon He knew exactly what he was getting when he rejoined... And his output artistically hasn’t exactly been amazing or prolific in his later years either so?...He was a huge part of Jane’s and I will always respect that ...but coming back and than shitting all over it because it wasn’t what he expected or wanted is petty...One last twist of the knife!!!
I will agree that Eric was probably too uptight about things. I think it's possible both him and Perry just have too big egos and just don't really like each other at all.
danswon they don’t. Perry posted a pic from 1990 a couple months ago on Instagram. He says “‘nothing’s changed except Eric.” Lmaooo
To me it reads as thoughtfully pausing to reply honestly, but bummed about the whole sitch. Everyone’s perspective is different but Eric seems very open.
