Thanks Scott for a good comment. Like you say if I was to stick to one era I think it would be hard trying to keep finding what to put in the video's plus not sticking to certain loco's give me the choice to purchase what looks good to run. All the best .Mick
you could run a heratige line so then you can runany out of service engine up untill the era you are modling (you may have to bend the timeline of railways a bit if you are runing *ANY* train)
Just found your channel. This is absolutely delightful, thank you for sharing. As an old man on the verge of dipping a toe in to the world of model railways, this is inspirational.
My grandad used to have a massive layout in his loft, he bought thousands of pounds worth of track, trains and other stuff. I was very sad when he passed earlier this year
Its unusual to see a railway like this as it allows for continuous running at the same time as some very interesting train movements. A great joy to watch
Hi Mick, good to see life treating you well after retiring from RM and love your enthusiasm and effort put into these clips. I may one day unbox my Flying Scotsman and track pack boxes I have in my loft! All the best, Andy Turpie
Hello Andy, nice to hear someone from the past. Brings back good memories. It keeps me busy and the mind active .Hope your keeping well and may be see you at a reunion. Thanks for watching and your comment. All the best. Mick.
Hi Mick as always great running session the 37 through 55 deltics have to be my favourite diesels...and I just love watching them on your layout...just brilliant...rgds Chris
Thank you for another cracking video. I do love the sound on the class 37. We have the Liverpool Street line at the bottom of our garden and it’s fantastic when the 37’s come through. Keep up the great work Mick 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Hello Mick, what an amazing layout. It is truly superb. Everything is so life like and accurate, I've spent most of my life working on the railways and you have got everything as real as the real thing. The locomotives, rolling stock, buildings , signaling ect are spot on. Well done.
Thanks Martin for a great comment from some body that knows the railway, if you can think of anything that I can had, please let me know. All the best. Mick
Hello Mike thank you for your reply. I was thinking of what I don't see on model railway layouts and I have come up with the idea of a DMU / COACH cleaning unit with revolving brushes that clean the sides of the rolling stock as it passes thru slowly, possibly on its way to the shed for refueling. I know you can't have water near electricity so if you had just a little bit of whispy smoke, like what is used to simulate locomotive smoke, that might look like water vapour. My local railway station has one of those and the units get cleaned before entering the shed. What do you think Mike.
Hello Martin. I do have a coach cleaning machine where the blue Pullmans are stored but this is not a working model, but your idea is a thought. Take care. Mick
First time viewer of any of your videos. Struck straight away by the level of detail. I particularly liked the Pullman carriages and the noises of all the stock. 👏
Wow! Very, very impressive. I have never seen anything like it. The workmanship and patience to do this is commendable. It must be a real joy to run these trains on the tracks and into sidings with all the points and signals. I am truly gobsmacked. Well done to you. Fantastic and thank you for a really enjoyable insight into your layout. 👏👏👏
Brilliant video Mick, a really enjoyable half hour or so. Could have watched that running session for ages. The layout is superb and the trackwork and ballasting are amazing. Like many other viewers, I particularly enjoyed seeing and hearing the 37s being given a workout. Roll on your next update. Thanks for sharing.
Superb Mick, I really enjoyed seeing the trains being shunted and then heading out on their journeys or off to work on the line. Your massive stock never ceases to amaze me. Cheers, David.
Hello David how's things with you hope your well. Something different to keep the video's going and to keep it interesting. Thanks for the comment. You take care. Mick
Good evening!! Glad to see you’re using DCC. I’m very much into DCC myself and am adapting my micro layout of Walmington-on-Sea to be completely DCC, including the points. The layout is of the location of the television series Dad’s Army. I have all the vehicles to go with it.
Hi there. Yes I went DCC in 2009 on my first layout, have not regretted it. Hope you will show your dad's army one day on UA-cam. Take care and thanks for watching. Mick
A very nice running session thank you, Michael. Just one thing I noticed and it might be worth checking. When the Northern Belle left the station and went over the first set of points, I saw the bogies of the Loco and the Coaches jump and it looked like the blade of the points wasn't touching the rail. Martin. (Thailand)
