    For the Milk and Butter option, the milk has to be room temperature and butter melted warm (NOT HOT), hot butter will curdle in the milk. If you maintain the above temperatures it will definitely mix, don’t forget to whisk while pouring the butter in the milk.
    But keep in mind this option does not whip.

    Just for your reference store bought evaporated milk can whip if refrigerated...and if you add some icing sugar is a great homemade ice cream :)

  • @courtneylia7383
    @courtneylia7383 3 роки тому +7

    I just attempted to make the evaporated milk and although I kept stirring the entire time, I kept ending up with the film on the stringy film on the top of the milk. Should I continue to scrape that off the top, or just continue to stir and skim it off at the end, or hope that it mixes together? Or should that not be happening at all? Any tips would be greatly appreciated! 😊

    • @MakeItYourWayy
      @MakeItYourWayy  3 роки тому +4

      For the evaporated milk scrape the sides and mix it back in the milk, that’s the fatty part of milk so mixing it back in will ensure a creamy thick consistency

      @@MakeItYourWayy thank you so much for answering my questions. That is greatly appreciated 😊 I do understand that raw, non-homogenized milk is the best and most recommended whole milk to use when attempting to make homemade heavy cream. My question is, is it even possible to do this with store bought milk that has already been homogenized?

I bought it at the supermarket, leave in cool refrigerator compartment for nearly a day and when opened the can, thick cream is alr on top. Just scoop it out and leave the water below.

      @@wxw4289 yeah this recipe doesn't get fluffy with whipping. i needed the cream to make fettucine so i just dumped the unmixed milk and butter concoction into my pan and added cornstarch to thicken up the base and it was pretty good! the butter didn't sit on the top after adding the cornstarch.

      This option doesn’t whip its clearly indicated in the video as milk is mostly water and butter is oil. This version to be used in recipe where heavy cream is needed in liquid form. Also did you use room temperature milk and slightly warm butter. If butter is too hot from melting it won’t mix with the watery consistency of milk. Try mixing and if it keeps separating use a double boiler to combine them with a whisk.

      @wendy try the whippable options, the milk and butter option Does Not Whip as mentioned.
      @taesfilter what you made with the cornstarch is a roux that’s base for any creamy sauce, try to heat the milk butter mixture over a double boiler while whisking if it stays separate. If you are using this in liquid form in your recipe roughly mixed butter and milk will just do the job.

    Heavy Cream is Dairy- so this is not a non-Dairy whipping cream. My wife is in stage 5 Kidney failure and cannot have dairy products. We are trying to find a true non-dairy whipping cream that she can use instead of Cool Whip.
