I've been a professional Hollywood-based songwriter for many years. This song is complex and sophisticated in it's cool and purposefully imperfect rhymes, hypnotic timing, anti-chorus, lurid content, etc. Amazing that Kimbra wrote this at what...21 yrs old? What an awesome package this artist is.

This is a terrific song. It never fared well commercially. I honestly think main stream won't appreciate how good this song is... Jazz audiences would probably appreciate this more.

@@mikeburch2998 a bit of both really. If you look at her old music on here it's insanely good, like on this video. But if you see her live performances now and her recent videos they barely hold a candle, it's almost like she's a totally different person. It's not even the 'experimental' stuff, I'm down for that here and there, it's just the overall quality and passion.

@@Mr.Meme01 I actually just discovered her several months ago after watching the gotye video. She's been around quite a while but I had no idea. My UA-cam premium subscription allows me to listen to a wide library of music. Other new ones for me are Cannons and camera obscura. Maybe Kimbra reached a point of job burnout? She seems to have produced a lot. 🤷. The weather here is extremely hot with clear skies. It gets hot for so long that you can't get cold water out of the tap. 🤣. We are just east of Mesa.

Kimbra has everything: amazing talent, versatility, class, sex appeal without smut, beauty, creativity, expression, sincerity, terrific vocal command, a crazy rang of influence, . . . i could go on and on. I can only trust that she won't go the way of so many talented artists who ended up with the wrong crowd, putting the wrong stuff in their bodies, and spoiling an amazing gift. I'm looking forward to seeing more of her in 10, 15, 20 years, still doing what she loves and swooning us all.

I appreciate that about her more than almost anything. The fact that she doesn't care how she 'looks' when she sings, punctuated by the occasional grimace or whatnot whilst she is singing. Props to Kimbra. My favorite artist and by far the most beautiful/powerful female artist of her generation.
