Man, I wish I could get every church musician in the world to watch this. Masterful as always however the skill of knowing how not to dominate a song, when you obviously have the skill to do so, is the real master skill here. Watch how many times the volume controls are adjusted when different technics are used. If he keeps the same volume throughout, especially when he starts to slap, it would dramatically affect this song. All the musicians in this video have this skill for that matter. This is just a small reason why this is by far my favorite bassist out of a ton of excellent players right now. #thatsabadman #favie
@Keith Fugate exactly! It's the subtle adjustments of his bass tone and volume that make his parts work in that they sit where needed in the mix! He knows that bass like a book! And that's saying something considering this is now his main bass rather than his famous red Fender Jazz. But yes, he COULD play all over the song and get a lot of 'ooohs' in the comments, but that's not what it's about. Sharay is a MASTERFUL player with perfect note placement an unique impeccable feel.
