I have this tent, but in the winter version and in brown. I don’t camp in the winter, but it gets cold in Northern Michigan, even in the summer. love it. It’s been through a couple of big thunderstorms and it stayed nice n dry. I use a polycro footprint and do use the tent bag. The stakes are great!
I always wondered how to do the seam sealing, so you only do it on the exterior but not on the inside, right? Also, do you re-do it after a thru hike along with the silicone spray treatment? Or do you have to do it in the middle of a hike like the AT since it rains so much? Excuse my ignorance. Thanks for sharing all this info.
It will last at least two thru hikes in my opinion but that may vary from one tent to another. Depends on weather, how you care for it etc. I had to be vague about that because everyone treats their gear different. Some don't use ground sheets for example in which case I would spray the bottom of the tent each year. It actually didn't rain any more than normal on the AT. I was hiking for like 180 days and I think maybe 12 of those were in rain. That's just a guess.
Right. As I said in the video my complete setup with ground sheet and stakes was 1189 grams BUT... I would never use that ground sheet at 168 grams. I'd use Tyvek or polycro at around 75 grams. This is why I weigh ONLY the tent. Other things are personal choice. You also have to consider that even the duplex at 17oz is only the tent, not ground sheet or stakes. So like I said in the video, 17oz for the duplex and 33.8oz for the Lanshan. 1lb difference.

I agree. This ground sheet is too heavy. I'll probably use Tyvek since I have lots around. Yep, good tent for sure.
Btw, is us$195 on Amazon. Not bad at all!
Ya that sounds about right with the exchange rate.
Nice review
Thank you! Cheers!

Thought you seem seal from the inside of tent?
Nope. I've always done it on the outside and it works just fine. Easier to manage too... lol
specs say 1155 grams - so 2 1/2 pounds
