I only started last Saturday so I am almost loath to make any comment at such an early stage but I could almost cry at how differently I feel around food and generally. I have never not felt hungry before. I haven't weighed myself yet but, regardless of the weight I lose, to feel this different is worth it.
That’s awesome. I’m week 12 now and still feel exactly the same. I’d never believe anyone before it that how you feel could be even better than the weight loss but it is!
Its amazing! I started 2 weeks ago and Ive lost 11lbs!! and Im drinking 2 litres of water a day and eating healthy meals full of veggies, protein, fibre and vitamin supplements and Ive done zero exercise yet as my knees are painful but soon i will begin classes and i have weights to use at home for toning. Im 53 and 5ft with 7 stone to lose but im determined this time!
Im sitting watching your video, and i want to cry. I've been dieting since i was 14 years old. Im now 64. I've fallen into the eating cycles you described. Losing weight is on my mind from the moment I wake up until i go to bed at night. I was diagnosed with non alcohol fatty liver. I want to lose weight to extend my life. I started Mounjaro 2 days ago. I want so badly for this to work. I'm beginning to believe it might happen for me. Thank you for your informative video.
I totally understand how you feel. But don’t sabotage yourself, change the way you think everytime you start to think it won’t work change what you say to yourself it will work 🙏🏽🫶🏽
Not one medical professional provided me with ANY information when I was prescribed this medication for a medical condition, not just weight loss. Not even the basics that you went over at the beginning of the video. They just told me to take it and report any side effects. I think it would have made a huge difference in my results had I known any of this earlier. So, thank you for putting all of this out there.
Great video series, Emma! I’ve been on Wegovy since November 2022 and have lost about 55 pounds - - and maintained! Struggled with weight my whole life and it’s the first time that I feel as if this is a sustainable solution for me. I’ve always been pretty consistent with exercise, but this is really giving me the boost I needed! In the US, I’m required to check in with my GP quarterly (which I love) to make certain my insurance covers the cost ($1400/month). You look fab 😘
That’s awesome! And must have taken a lot of work 👏🏻. It’s reassuring hearing how many of our stories are similar with previous struggles. And it’s lovely to hear that you are feeling it’s sustainable- I hope I can replicate your success. 🥰
Thank you for all your tips. I’ve stayed on 2.5 dose and don’t feel the need to go up a dose. I’m also 5ft 2 and wondered about dose compared to taller and heavier people. My provider has asked why I haven’t increased but I don’t feel the need as I’m losing consistently without any side effects.
With our bodies there is never one size that fits all… that’s why every medication has a side effects list that’s as long as your arm- we all react differently to the same things. And with medications- less can often be more (though again not always) so why change something that’s working
I can’t thank you enough for your advice, I have been searching for genuine NHS guidance that unfortunately I haven’t been able to get from my GP. I am clinically obese and am making the leap to Monjaro. I have lost a stone this last year by making small changes which I intend to carry on with. Thank you so so much ❤
That’s great! - getting it going and staying in the right direction is hard. GPs are a mixed bag. Some will be awesome. Some are rubbish. And there’s everything in between. If you have an unsupportive one- change. Obesity is a health issue and it needs the same support as anything else. If you’re not getting the help you need or they’re not directing you to where you can find it (obviously not all GPs will be versed in everything) just know that it’s their problem not yours and someone else would love to help you
So happy you have made this, I have just ordered mounjaro after a number of colleagues have had success, I’m a little apprehensive after being a slave to SW for 25 years and 4 stone heavier than when I originally started it 😮 i feel I’ve nothing to lose (except lbs & £ 😂)
Thank younfor the advice. Got my pen on the way. Nervous but excited. But also a little sad, just found out from a ling xray that my heart is enlarged 😢 so need to loose the weight to help my health improve. P.s can i ask whats in the backgroup becuae it looks like notebooks and i looooove ❤stationery 😊 xx
I began my Mounjaro journey 22 weeks ago and 55 pounds overweight. I’ve lost only 12 pounds in 24 weeks despite eating a low carb , high protein diet and staying between 1200-1300 calories per day . I also walk 45 minutes per day and lift weights 2x per week . Would I be considered a non responder given my very poor results?
Enjoying your videos even though I'm not on a GLP-1. I am thinking about it as a possibility in 2025. In a previous video, you mentioned that you had some thoughts around ADHD and weight management. I am not diagnosed with ADHD, but it definitely runs in my family, and I suspect I am mildly ADHD (inattentive type), plus mildly anxiety-prone. As I am in a period of reflection at this time (taking a break from endless, decades long cycles of dieting and regain), I am wondering about a possible connection and would be very interested in your thoughts!
I am so sad that I am not loosing any weight on Mounjaro. I am now in the 5th week and now on 5mg. I workout and lift weight. I am happy for those seeing changes and I am sad that I am not seeing these big changes that are being reported.
I had my first jab last night . I’ve decided to tell people. I’d rather that than have everyone speculating about the cause of my weight loss. It’s not like this is the easy way out- I’m going to calorie count, eat clean, move more and drink lots of water. And have the jabs. Heaps of protein too.
I started last week expecting the stomach issues. Didn't happen! But hours later after 1st shot ,dizziness set in and hasn't stopped. Sugar lvl good, water intake ,pulse and bp fine.1500 calories a day. I'm so upset. Hunger went down by 50 percent. I can't drive due to this dizziness that stated 3 hours after shot. I m not taking it Wednesday . I still think people should take it. Not one stomach issue.
Been on this Mounjaro for eight weeks and lost only 7.1/2 pounds. I take off a pound or two, next few days I have put it back on, I’m on 2.5 and because of an allergy I have to have a blood test then wait another wait week for the results. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong I eat most of my protein first then add vegetables to the mix breakfast is a protein drink or bran with protein yogurt this is now my life wondering what and how to eat for success. I feel like one of the reasons I agreed with my diabetic nurse to give this a try is completely useless. I still think of food because the food noise is mostly is still there some of the time. I need to go up to 0.5 I can overcome it myself but what is it most of us on this for, so we don’t continuously think of food. I can’t win 🤷🏻♀️
You probably have not reached the right body weight as yet. The gradual increase is to prevent problems. Once you reach the right weight the food noise stops and you will struggle to remind yourself to get the right amount of protein in order to prevent muscle loose( weight train too of course). Hang on and maybe shift to a higher doseevety 2 weeks till you find your right dose
Oh I hope you feel better soon- it’s a huge adjustment. Good on you for having the confidence to go for it. I hope it works well. Give yourself time xxx have you come across a creator called katnipp who makes stationery- she had bariatric surgery and is inspiring to watch
A friend of mine had gastric bypass last January. It was tricky initially but its been great for her. She isn't having to inject herself weekly. Good luck.
I have had gastric bypass for almost 15 years now . I lost 41 kgs . Gained few kg during that time but I manage to loose them immediately while when it was before the gastric bypass I kept going back and forth struggling to loose 5 kg then gain them back! You will get used to it just give yourself sometime.
Hang in there, make sure you are eating plenty of protein (80-125gms+). and hang in there, everyone is at a different place metabolically, consider keeping carbs to 50 or less too, and walk.
👏🏻that’s awesome! And totally agree. I’m working a lot on that now. I don’t just want to eat more- I also want to enjoy what I’m eating and make it sustainable

Increase your water intake and proteins. Eat healthy food. Change injection sites as well.

My Endocrinologist prescribed Mounjaro with little to none background information.
