I am a very lucky person and got my black dial ceramic stainless steel Daytona brand new from an authorized dealer yesterday and in person it's even more beautiful. Excellent video! Thank you!!

@Sharon Plume it's the sound of the/his voice which sounds completely different. So unless he started this before hitting puberty...
The black dial is hands down much more manliest than the white dial. Black dial looks more race car oriented.
Watching this in 2021, I can see the vast improvement in narration and video. He used to be so rushed, packing in lots of words, and there wasn't any of the spectacular macro rotating videos
It's stunning, and yet also eminds me so much of my early 2000's white dial Tag Heuer formula 1 chrono.

Damn that is a beautiful, perfect looking watch IMO! I know a lot of the watch snobs hate on Rolex and Daytonas especially, but Ive always loved them and always aspired to a Rolex and to me the Daytona or Sub are the ones Ive always envisioned.

A beautiful classic. But difficult and too expensive to obtain due to the shortage of Stainless Steel sport models.

You missed a glaring difference in the new dials . The printing font is slightly thicker and darker . Its very obvious . Nice video though .

great video, I would prefer the SS daytona w/o ceramic bezel over the new ones.
It would be a first if someone does an in-depth review comparing the Daytona with the GS Dragon chronograph which Ariel of ablogtowatch speak so highly of. For a start, it has 3 more complications and more decorated with superior finishing not to mention its much longer history. Yet, the Dragon cost a quarter of the Daytona's premium price.
This kind of review would indeed be helpful for people who are into high horology beyond branding, but, of course, one need to be very knowledgeable, though it's hard to be in the league of Ariel who has handled tens of millions worth.
I still prefer to buy a Brand New Unworn 116520 for collection👌🏻

ceramic bezel is ACTUALLY larger... by 1mm (39mm dia) than the steel bezel... (38mm)

can i ask if there is a little defect on the ceramic bezel right on the "n" letter at "units per hour"? i'm asking in order to know in case i may be wrong or a brand like rolex may have missed that detail... great review btw.
Nope, no defects. Rolex build quality is incredibly good.

I've looked through and I see the part you mean. That's the just the bevel on the inner part of the 'N' reflecting the light back. If you look closely, you'll see that all the letters have a slight bevel rather being cut straight down, which is more pronounced on the 'N' because of the tight angle.

I don't know why you don't mention the 72 hour power reserve with the ceramic bezel? The prior Stainless Steel Daytona has a Power Reserve of less than 50 hours. Correct me if I am wrong.
The ''prior Stainless Steel Daytona'' you mentioned is the 16520 Zenith Daytona with the 4030 movement. Since the 116520, the power reserve has been 72 hours on the 4130 movement.
I have a 116503. Feel your finger round the crown and the guard, then the
pushers. Then, feel the edges. Now, i also have the Jade Dragon SBGC207. If you
have one, repeat the same. Now, you can feel the difference between machine
made watches and handmade watches. If you want to know what 'sharpness' mean,
you compare it with a Grand.
Also, my son get rashes wearing the Rolex but not the Grand. Strange!
It's because Rolex uses 904l gimmick steel with some possibly allergic reaction inducing metals. Would u day grand seiko is better finished?

Is that a "high-end" 35mm camera there on your "workbench"? What brand? Do you have the high-end flash to go with it or just the cover for the mount? Do you normally keep your "high-end" photographic equipment laying around with no lens cover while you play with your watches and practice your knot-tying or was this just a "spontaneous" video you shot as soon as "your" Rolex showed up in the "mail" that caught you working on your Merit Badges for knot-tying and photography?

At the unfortunate price of 15,950 GBP, 7,000 over list price. Get on a waiting list and sit it out until the hype dies down and Rolex make more available, as they inevitably will. Buy into the Daytona at this ridiculous price and you will never recover your money.
