@@aayushimj i have no gift for listening , so i can be of no help except to say , i guess i'm just not cut out for it , because i can easily read spanish but when it comes to listening , i have to hear it over and over and over , the same thing , so that's what i do , I watch Lauras videos over and over and eventually understand everything she says .

@@aayushimjmy biggest tip is to stop translating it into English in your head. Instead I find it helpful to repeat what their saying in spanish in my head just like what we subconsciously do when listening in English. I hope this makes sense, I used to really struggle with listening in spanish until I started doing this and now listening is probably the easiest thing for me. 😊

I’ve been studying Spanish for 3 years, but since I was trying to learn all by myself and had noone who know spanish around me I was going on and off. I was studying for a bit and then get frustrated, stopping studying for a long term. But last year I was like “okay am I really gonna learn this language or what?” Then I immerged myself deeper into learning and that was when I found your channel. When I first watched your videos I needed the captions bc I understood so little, but now I can understand the whole thing without needing captions!! As a hobby in retirement, I've been studying Spanish by myself for about three, maybe four years. I study about an hour every day. Can I say that I'm fluent? No. But I can tackle some fairly difficult reading and I'm discovering that I can read subtitles from movies more easily too. I'm beginning to pick up the spoken language better too. Laura is a great teacher in that regard. Another one is Hola Spanish, or any of the Story Learning video's spoken at a slower pace.

I got sucked into the language learning UA-cam rabbit hole about a year ago. I have found MANY great, interesting, informative channels, but this one is BY FAR the most interesting, well thought out, brilliantly organized, informative, efficiently educational channel I have found so far.
One video showed up in my feed about an hour ago (my first intro to this channel) and I have been hooked since.
This is EXCELLENT content, so good, I’m not sure it should be available for free.

Igual suena a tontería pero últimamente me he visto disfrutando un montón de estos videos a pesar d que sean en mi lengua materna jajaja. No sé muy bien cómo terminé aquí pero por alguna razón sus manerismos y forma d hablar me son muy relajantes. A veces estudio con estos vídeos de ruido de fondo y siempre me hace gracia el humor y la confianza delante d la cámara. Entre eso y que estoy muy de acuerdo con su idea de como es mejor aprender idiomas (basándome en como aprendí yo otros, tampoco sé mucho más allá d eso), creo que este canal es una verdadera joya :)

Thanks for this channel. In the beginning, I could only understand if there were Spanish subtitles. Duolingo has helped me read but listening comprehension still felt impossible. But now I can listen and understand a lot more even without Spanish subtitles. Progress is slow but steady.
