Dina tokio inspires me since my first day of wearing hijab , thats why i decided to make my own youtube channel , so that maybe i'll become an inspiration for someone else in the near future Inshallah
omg seriously the comments.. Its ok to style it a bit.. its not tight its not revealing..thats the purpose of abaya.. Shes covered up..that is what islam told us to do.. cover up..wear conservatively .. Its not about religion anymore, its about the sick heads that stare at women even if they're covered from head to toes (including face).. The problem lies within the people themselves. They stare and take things the way their sick heads want. Quran also asked to stop staring.. In the end, u have the option not to follow her style. -_-
Stop complaining, she apologises at the start and says that it's more a maxi dress than conventional abaya because it's tighter. She also says that most abayas are looser than the one she is wearing, so stop moaning and take the video in the way it was intended, that is for others to take ideas from it not for them to slavishly copy.
Dina, this is awesome! I really needed an inspiring video like this..I'm actually transitioning from jeans and short tops to proper hijab and maxi's and abaya's.. please pray for me, may Allah make this journey easy for whoever wants to follow this, ameen! :) Jazakillah sis, may Allah reward you enormous, inshAllah!!!
Adding to my last comment, I also like the slouchy casual look as well with the sweater over the abaya. I can definitely wear that on a daily basis. :-)
So cute I like that you have a complete different look same dress. So simple. Would it be ok to tie the plaid shirt? I bet cute with almost any sweater too
thank you soooooooooooo much for putting this. Im moving to Saudi (from the U.S............yes really lol) for a few years, and so depressed that i have to wear all black abaya's 24/7 whenever im out. this has given me HOPE!!!
Dina abbaya looks so good on u! I love this video, u should make more videos about the abaya. And it would be great if u showed us how u made it! Much love xxx
salaam i loved your 5 ways to wear an abaya i also wear an abaya and i mostly do it the simple way but when i watched your video i really liked your 4th outfit the jumper do you know where i could get a similar jumper like that? Thanks (Y) :')
okay this is odd i'm the first to comment! Salaams Dina! If I wasnted to get in cotact with you what would be the best posibble way? Hope youre in good health iA
Hey sis, I love your videos! Can you give me a list of all the place you order your hijabs from. I wear my scarves like you, voluminous and I like the detailing like the pale pink w/ tensils from your Spring OOTD & Rant vid. I live in New York so I prob wont find the same stores here unless theyre online. Thanks, much love.
How tall are you, I'm short and you seem small like me. In America the maxi dress are way too long for me, I suppose making my own is probably better than buying if most end up 12 inches longer than me. I have no frame and I'm very skinny and tiny. I always end up having to pick up my ling skirts and I hold them in my hand lol. I'm half tempted to put buttons on some to hold them above my feet.
Masha'allah sisters and maybe some brothers. This is the reason we're failing as a deen, we need to stop hating on our fellow muslims, and support each other instead
@princess2c of course you can be well put together. And what I meant was, for instance, not to go through the situation of deciding what would match with the other, what colours look good etc. And if i'm not mistaken, representing islam through the way you dress is to wear modest un-stylized attire, to be simplistic so as to not follow the latest trends, because it is your eemaan that matters.
Not all of her selections involved making the abaya form-fitting. She merely suggested wearing a sweater or a blazer over it to add a little flair to it. Fashion is not haram nor does it undermine one's modesty.
hey sis, could ya teach me how to make the abbaya your wearing since at the begging of the video you said that you made it!! which by the way is soo cool
Stop hating people, she's an amazing girl who actually wears a hijaab/abaya! Most Muslim UA-cam girls don't wear either and they wear such tight clothes and sleeveless tops/dresses. Btw Dina look no.2 isn't the best... But the others were great :) x
unless you're God, DON'T judge. Dina is inspiring soooo many muslim girls out there to wear hijab ..and STILL look fashionable, why can't we support our sister, she's doing something great :) she's all covered up! wearing a pop of color, or accessories is not a big deal. no need to be so extreme. as long as you're dressed modestly, it's all good, God looks at your intentions, and what it is in your heart. :)
If you're a new hijabi, please don't wear an abaya like this because it's not correct. I'm sorry but I have to tell it: Your hijab don't have to be like koufar, you can't show your figure even arms and you don't have to accesorize your hijab like this: BE SIMPLE
it's mostly a matter of choice... i myself don't mind taking photos... but i have friends who don't have a single photo of themselves..maybe so if the device goes into someone who is not allowed to see them, i don't know,,, but as i said it's a matter of choice
Masha allah sister u are very talented and vary beautiful. Can u plz do a video about a quick way of getting ready and being fashionable and modest? I am a very busy mother and a student so i don’t have a time to get ready on time and be fashionable at the same time, please help me sister and give tips and ideas. Thank u sister
see girls what ever we wear guys are gona look at you..so dosent means we wont look good or step out of the house..we shoukd dress up as modest as we can..guys looks will only change if ones the elders start restricting them and not the girls.
All im going to say is keep it loose were a blazer/jacket we all do it winter duhhh and nothing wrong with putting a huddy over your abaya/jabbah what we call it as long as its not figure hugging and inviting to the opposite sex and people who are saying fashion is haram is it not haram do it for yourself and husband but when you go out then cover it up and stay modest don't need to be dressed like your going to a wedding when your going college and its not our right to judge a swell like dina
I wear an abaya, it's black and plain.. just reverted 2 months ago. I actually love the abaya. very comfortable
You guys are criticising the video but she's making it easier to wear an abaya. And for some people it's very difficult to wear one in first place!
Dina tokio inspires me since my first day of wearing hijab , thats why i decided to make my own youtube channel , so that maybe i'll become an inspiration for someone else in the near future Inshallah
So sad..
omg seriously the comments.. Its ok to style it a bit.. its not tight its not revealing..thats the purpose of abaya.. youre absolutely right .
I still miss this era of dina
Dina, this is awesome! I really needed an inspiring video like this..I'm actually transitioning from jeans and short tops to proper hijab and maxi's and abaya's.. please pray for me, may Allah make this journey easy for whoever wants to follow this, ameen! :) Jazakillah sis, may Allah reward you enormous, inshAllah!!!

seriouly love ur videos dina!
LOVE THIS VIDEO! Thanks for this I wear abaya and I wanted to learn how to 'dina' it up ;)
@smashnoor1 no not really, its never sleeveless, specific material, like you cant find dresses with that material sometimes...
The abaya was designed with the intent of providing a way of dress that is not form-fitting. It doesn't have to be simple.
Masha'allah sisters and maybe some brothers. This is the reason we're failing as a deen, we need to stop hating on our fellow muslims, and support each other instead
please make a part 2 of this video i loved it who agree with me ?
i was thinking to wear abbaya everyday and adding something on it but not like this way it doesn't look like abbaya actually :/
What is the actual difference between an abaya and a long-sleeved maxi dress? Amount of ease?
nothing really
an abaya is supposed to be loose and not show ur figure, whereas majority of maxi dresses are quite figure hugging
And what watch are you wearing please. Thx Ramadan Mubarak

hey sis,
could ya teach me how to make the abbaya your wearing since at the begging of the video you said that you made it!!

Mashallah you are so creative Dina.

Btw Dina look no.2 isn't the best... But the others were great :) x
My favorite outfit overall is the monocrome business look. I
slm dina. how do you secure the end of the belt if the abaya has no loops? doesnt it hang out?
luv the beginning u should keep doing it
The point of wearing abaya is to hide your figure. That doesn't mean that you cannot add your own personal touch of style to it.
the 5th one is the best :)
unless you're God, DON'T judge. :)

what kind of fabric did you use to make this abaya???
Love this, I'm so gonna try out no. 1, 2&4 33
There is nothing harram with wanting to look smart and presentable. Its far better than looking the opposite.
it's mostly a matter of choice... i myself don't mind taking photos... but i have friends who don't have a single photo of themselves..maybe so if the device goes into someone who is not allowed to see them, i don't know,,, but as i said it's a matter of choice
Can you give tips on how to sew jersey without the material looking pulled?
Masha allah sister u are very talented and vary beautiful. Can u plz do a video about a quick way of getting ready and being fashionable and modest? All im going to say is keep it loose were a blazer/jacket we all do it winter duhhh and nothing wrong with putting a huddy over your abaya/jabbah what we call it as long as its not figure hugging and inviting to the opposite sex and people who are saying fashion is haram is it not haram do it for yourself and husband but when you go out then cover it up and stay modest don't need to be dressed like your going to a wedding when your going college and its not our right to judge a swell like dina
