It surprises me how many clients have told me that they wanted a look and their last stylist said no it wouldn't work for them. There is always adjustments that can be made so that you can have the look that you want! Time for a new stylist it sounds like.
Any kind of thinning procedure on coarse curly hair will ultimately lead to frizz. Once those thinned roots grow an inch or so, they will be at the top, causing trouble!
Her hair has been growing out for a while now and is BEAUTIFUL. As long as the cuticle isn't frayed (like they'd be if a razor was used), it won't be frizzy
Let me give an up to date comment. I am not a person with a lot of curly cut knowledge, but I can clearly see that this young stylist is vey talented with cutting curly thick hair. I have curly dense and porous red hair and it is very hard to work with, as I have much less curl from my temple up and forward to my face and a lot of curl from the temple down and in the back. I guess you could call me a hair hoar as I jump from one stylist to another trying to find someone who can give me a nice cut that matches my small face and also not make my hair look frizzy and damaged. I really would like a shorter haircut like this young lady's. Any recommendations for a stylist with talent like this in the Portland Oregon area, as it would be much convenient for me? Or maybe I will just have to take a visit to your Salon, if it's do-able? Thank you, I really enjoyed this tutorial and it gave me hope!
Yes how ever if its super find I would be careful with the texturizing. I wouldn't go super close to the root because fine and thin hair will be less forgiving if too much is taken out
Absolutely! I have quite a few clients with that hair type, who’ve gone pixie. It looks great, and makes their hair look thicker, and lets their curls pop. You also need the right products - water soluble and plant based.

Awww that's not uncommon. Most people would change something about their hair. That being said, I love curls. Try to find a style that will let you embrace them xoxo

it's difficult to see as the picture is so small. I've tried to make it bigger but it won't go.
