I Still want the London Town and Back to the Egg Archive collections
You are absolutely correct! It is essential to release the "Let It Be" film as it has footage missing from the "Get Back" doc. Here's why.... In the 7-hour "Get Back" doc, five songs were missing (Long and Winding Road / Two of Us / Let It Be / For You Blue / I Me Mine). Now, if we combine both "Get Back" and "Let It Be" docs, we finally have the full, complete experience of those legendary sessions with ALL the songs. Looking forward to the Blu-ray release (hopefully this year). I will buy both "Get Back" and "Let It Be" Blu-rays and have a big Beatles party. Been waiting for this for 50 years! Thank you, Andrew, for all the Beatles news! Cheers!
That's true but I also think that become another reason.to see it. Peter jackson.knows exvatly what he's doing..every time I watch the original let it be ( I have a 6 DVD box set ) Michael Lindsay Hogg is always standing around chatting with the Beatles was it really him
Directing or the person .filming deciding what to put in ?
My favourite Christmas was 1979. The Beeb showed all the Beatles 6 films including Let it Be. I had just bought a video recorder and played them over and over with friends. Yes it was in mono on VHS and a small telly, but this was Nirvana! 🕉 And John was still alive too. All these years later and still interesting stuff to look forward to. ☺
also Beatles biography, which was good....Kampuchea, 79 was my main learning of The Beatles, I was putting it together, also Dollar - I wanna hold your hand; and John Lennon tribute, when he was tilll alive, which most p don't know about, which I'm sure was on TOTP ...79 was my year of Beatles education,,,,and what did the Clash say - nonsense.....
I remember that Christmas. Last time I saw Let it Be.
what's "the beeb?"
i have the original "let it be" released on betamax. bought back in 1980. transfered it to vhs a few years later but still have the original beta tape. also bought "mmt" on beta at the same time. this was back when "a hard days night" and "help!" were tied up in litigation and being denied release. then, they released those 2 movies and took "mmt" and "let it be" out of circulation. the whole thing's one BIG CORPORATE SCAM!
first of all the corporate partnership between the beatles and disney MUST BE DISSOLVED! what the hell was mccartney thinking giving disney, one of the most corrupt and dangerous corporations on the planet, the rights over beatles material. mccartney sold us out! its a move i'd expect from such hacks as kanye west, any rapper or taylor swift.
2nd everything officially labeled "the beatles," including all images, music videos and films, should now be available to be downloaded from the internet FOR FREE! or at least at cost. that would be a truly revolutionary move and a HUGE THANK YOU to all beatles fans world wide. mccartney's a damned billionaire. he doesn't need to steal anymore of my money!
i love the beatles. i've been a loyal beatle aficionado for 60 years and i don't appreciate them being exploited and their life-long fans being abused like this. thanks for the video.
i remember it
well
Yes me too . I was 10 and my mom and dad didnt approve . It changed my life from black and white to color
I've only ever seen Let It Be on a very crappy bootleg DVD, it's going to be such a thrill to see it!
One hand clapping?! This is so out of left field! I am super excited but I am hoping the archive collection isn’t dead.
One Hand Clapping - yes! STILL bothered by no Archive Series announcements (London Town, Back to the Egg!), but any old McCartney is welcome! Picking up the glow in the dark Lennon for RSD, too.
THE QUESTION IS WHERE IS LONDON TOWN ?, AND WHERE IS BACK TO THE EGG ?
I still would prefer them to be released as well.
50th anniversary of Dark Horse tour... C'mon! Let's get that concert film out.
Andrew. Glad to get some great release news. Can’t wait to hear a cleaned up One Hand Clapping to get an official release!
i guess the production is why “33 & 1/3rd” is my very close second favorite (ATMP is my first) George album, because that’s when the production really improved.
Hi Andrew! I would love to see a George Harrison beatles box set with all his songs with the group including some of his demos from white album and later years… I guess that’s something every Harrison fan would be fascinated about!
Love your channel and content🎉
To be fair, Living in the Material World sounds much cleaner than ATMP. By the early '70s mixing boards had moved from valve pre-amps to solid state pre-amps. I think also our ears are so used to hearing super clean recordings of this era that anything else sounds like a Robert Johnson record in comparison. That said, I can't wait to hear the new remix of LITMW.
I have a hard time understanding why in this age of modern technology it takes longer to put together these rereleases than it took to originally write, record, mix, master, and press the original releases. The hard part which is making the music is already done.

They (the studios) are purposely spreading them out in order to continue making money. If they released everything all at once (which everyone knows they damn well could) then how would make money in perpetuity?
It's a typical game companies play.
I agree.
The rooftopconcert should be available. I like the 'cut aways' too.
But it would be nice just to have the concert.
In 5.1, please please please!
The rooftop concert is on UA-cam and worth a watch.
All Things Despectorized would be a dream for me
Are the several new products really a big burner.? I don't know, because the "ONE HAND CLAPPING" sessions where on several bootlegs available, this time you don't get probably "YVONNE" on it, one of the best unreleased McCartney Songs ever, George Harrison camp offers always the same records: THE CONCERT FOR BANGLA DESH, LIVING IN THE MATERIAL WORLD, " WONDERWALL MUSIC, ELECTRONIC SOUNDS (Oh yeah you need every version of it) I don't count all the versions of these anymore. They are all no alternatives to a release of Archive Collections like "LONDON TOWN2 or "BACK TO THE EGG". The only highlights will be Ringo's new EP "CROCKED BOY" and John's "MIND GAMES" including the following book.
Excited for one hand clapping
I've still got my original Living In The Material World LP that (if I remember correctly) bought in 1973 for $3.88. I was only a kid back then and I remember looking at the Sunday newspaper sales flyers to see what LPs were on sale at a department store called "Ann & Hope" in Cumberland, Rhode Island (USA). They were regularly priced at $5.28 but when on sale the price was for $3.88. That's when I'd bug my parents to take me there!
Thanks for the update. It will be an exciting next few months of Solo releases.
What a week!! Can't wait for Let It Be, especially for a few scenes that didn't make Get Back, such as the band playing 'Besame Mucho' which I absolutely love. It isn't far away and the new Lemon Twigs album is getting released 5 days after Let It Be.
And the McCartney release is something else, I am absolutely thrilled for that one. I have been wanting an official release for one hand clapping for a long time - especially for 'All Of You' which is a true hidden gem. Very exciting time!!
Looking forward to the Lennon and Harrison releases too!!!
Great video as normal Andrew!
Love your enthusiasm Andrew it’s contagious!! This is all great stuff ! Ringo’s new song is great .. who would have thought this late is the game old Rings is killing it with new studio songs! Loved the last EP. Keep letting us know ❤!
Why is Record Store Day solely concentrated on vinyl? I believe CD releases should also be promoted. Anything physical is a must!!
Great video thanks.
One hand clapping is great news to add to your collection , it's a brilliant set !! I watch it regularly on YT !! THANKS FOR THAT Andrew !!
Looking forward to everything of substance...keep it coming
Our boys are forever!
How about:
Back to the egg
London Town
Press to play archives?
Wings over Europe stand alone?
Last flight in Glasgow?
Return to pepper land?
The Rupert album?
One hand clapping is kinda boring to me.
great shout - who cares about one hand clapping
Need to get Peter Jackson on that Bangladesh film.
Maybe...but what would be BETTER is to get his ass on the Hamburg Star Club tapes........
@@user-tl7mj2bm4m I’m not too interested in that tbh. Not much of a fan of the really early stuff. It just doesn’t do it for me. I respect the historical significance, but it just isn’t for me.
@@ericclaptonsrobotpilot7276 Understandable. Everyone seems to have their favorite time periods of the Beatles. I tend to favor the more early stuff up until maybe the last two albums. Are they fantastic? Of course...but I just happen to like the earlier stuff more.
I have only recently heard both Bangladesh concerts were filmed and recorded. Maybe we will have a remix of both shows and footage from unseen one!
@@davidrowe7967 there are some low quality clips on YT. The band sounds really tight on Wah Wah and Awaiting For You All. I hope it gets a remix to fix the muddiness. Spector made it sound just like the original mix of ATMP.
Can't wait, I know when Get Back was first out I dug out my 1+ Blu-ray to see some different angles and full songs in comparable quality.
I recently watched a surprisingly good quality version of _Let It Be_ online, and I think it's a great documentary in its own right! To me, it's basically just a 90 minute cut of _Get Back._
I also don't think it casts the Beatles in any more of a negative light than _Get Back_ does. I mean, other than the one argument with George (which is also in _Get Back),_ I honestly don't know why it has such a negative reputation.
So glad it's finally getting an official release and upgrade! Can't wait to buy the Blu Ray and display it proudly on one of my Beatles shelves!
Plus, Sean Lennon and James McCartney have written a song together. 😳 The very idea gives me chills. And apparently it isn’t a joke…
Let it Be is such a sad movie. I’m glad they are rereleasing it, but it’s a real downer. I wish they’d rerelease the rooftop IMAX video. It was the most amazing thing ever. Really brings the rooftop concert to life.
what's "sad" about the "let it be" film? it brought me much joy everytime i've seen it. john and yoko dancing, the r&r segments with billy preston, the full version of "dig it" and the roof top session are PURE JOY!
i have the original "let it be" released on betamax. bought back in 1980. transfered it to vhs a few years later but still have the original beta tape. also bought "mmt" on beta at the same time. this was back when "a hard days night" and "help!" were tied up in litigation and being denied release. then, they released those 2 movies and took "mmt" and "let it be" out of circulation. the whole thing's one BIG CORPORATE SCAM!
As of the 23rd of this month, there has yet to be a “Crooked Boy” review on You Tube.
@cjmacq-vg8um - Wait...what's "MMT"? 🤔
@cjmacq-vg8um - Oh yeah, "Magical Mystery Tour". Never mind, haha.
@@BugRib ...mmt = magical mystery tour
Thank you, Andrew for the heads-up on all these releases that are coming out.
Fantastic as always Andrew - many thanks
Brilliant review great Announcements.
I think most hardcore McCartney fans would have preferred a London Town/BTTE Archive set, but One Hand Clapping is a definite upgrade from the lame releases we have been fed since 2021. This will be my first McCartney purchase since McCartney III.
Me too.
Will deffo be getting the 2 lp ep! One hand clapping..the ep is a proper EP 6 tracks nice!
Even a new lennon mccartney collaboration! Albeit the sons!
Always enjoy listening to Andrew , he is very interesting, knowledgeable about his subject, and is really good at keeping us beatles fans up to date with releases, projects ,books etc, in fact anything beatles!! Keep up the great work Andrew ,and look forward to your next update !! All the best to you !!
Thank you Stephen 👍
What a fantastic video have a wonderful day ❤❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😊😊
Thanks Andrew this info invaluable 😁
I remember seeing Let It Be in the theater in 1970. Years later, I bought the VHS release in the 80s. A Mind Games remix would be awesome! The drums are rather muddy, particularly on songs like Meat City. I had no idea that One Hand Clapping was going to be released in album form. You can see a good amount of it in bits and pieces all over UA-cam. I really enjoyed your video. Very informative!
I have a 23-track-bootleg of One Hand Clapping, actually quite nice...
Superb video bought the mind games EP and as you say it is wonderful. Very excited about one hand clapping release. That is unbelievably good! Also the George releases could be wonderful! I agree the mixes for living in the material world and Concer for Bangladesh Desh have room for significant improvement ! I bought concert for Banla Desh in 1974 as a 14 year old and was quite disappointed ! I still have the lp’s A also the More recent DVD release was not too wonderful . so would love to hear what the can do today . Big thanks for your videos so informative and your genuine warmth and enthusiasm for the music shines through!
Great news about OHC lp & cd.Pleased to have been able to get my copies of Lennon 2 eps & Ringo ep today. Looking forward to Mind Games lp/cds.
I was just watching some footage from "one hand clapping" last night, and Paul just officially announced it!
All items you mentioned is Fantastic ! Hard to put in words ! Ringo's song February Sky is absolutely stunning ! Can't wait to purchase Mind Games EP ! Thanks for sharing, Andrew.
Yes, February sky is really great.
When I bought my first VHS player, a company called Magnetic Video put out 50 titles. One of them was Let It Be. It was $90.00 but I had to have it!! I just added the cost to the cost of the player, around $800.00. It was so early in home video world, the remote was wired to the player!! Anyway, I still have my copy of Let It Be! Can't wait for it to be released on Blu-ray, amd see it on Disney!! Woo hoo!!!
Very excited about all this news! Especially the One Hand Clapping.
Say, did you hear that the Wondewall Music and Electronic Sound RSD are the first in a series of his albums for RSD. Sounds like they’re planning all of them in this treatment over the next coming RSD’s.
No one seems to be talking about the new Lennon/McCartney song just released.... Thank you for another great informative video Andrew 🙂
The Let It Be announcement is great news. I remember Hard Day's Night being released on VHS in 1984 on the 20th anniversary and at the time I thought it would be so good to have all the other films on their 20th anniversary like the singles being reissued in the 80s. Of course that didn't happen so many of us have been waiting sooo long! About time! Beatles monthly was my bible in the 80s and 90s! Still have all my copies.
Yep. I remember getting Help and MMT on VHS in 89/90. Always wondered why LIB never got a release!
i have the original "let it be" released on betamax. bought back in 1980. transfered it to vhs a few years later but still have the original beta tape. also bought "mmt" on beta at the same time. this was back when "a hard days night" and "help!" were tied up in litigation and being denied release. then, they released those 2 movies and took "mmt" and "let it be" out of circulation. the whole thing's one BIG CORPORATE SCAM!

Physical release for "Let It Be" will be Christmas. They aren't daft.
Lots and lots of good stuff coming 🎉
Thanks Andrew for this very informative video. I am planning to buy them all. Shame that I can't obtain the RSD-releases of John and Ringo. Cheers.
Yes I can’t wait for let it be on dvd
My wallet is ready! 💶💰😃 Excellent news! Thanks for the update Andrew.
IS there JUST SOMETHING WRONG with London Town? At this point why is so much other stuff out and he's made the decision not to do the full London Town reissue?
Definitely aiming for both versions of John Lennon Mind Games EP, Paul McCartney One hand clapping and Mind Games on vinyl.
Any mention of Billy Preston? The fifth Beatle. Can you imagine those last few hits without his keyboards?
So when will get the long overdue archive editions of London Town and Back To the Egg?
So excited for One Hand Clapping. I thought for sure the annoucement was a hoax!🎉🎉🎉
Saw Let It Be at the cinema and on BBC2. However you rate the movie it is still a historical document as such and deserves a physical release. The One Hand Clapping release will be interesting, and Paul Hicks (who worked on Let It Be Naked) is involved in George's remixes they should be good as well. (As long as If I Needed Someone isn't involved!)
Who’s „One Direction“?! 😂😂😂😂✌🏻✌🏻❤️
The Beatles camp is in full gear Andrew! This is great news Ringo Ep and country album! Lennon Mind games july Let it be May 8 now McCartney june 14 Harrison in October 2024 Beatles Rubber soul December 2024 a busy last 6 months !!! Andrew get your money ready!
What am I getting? In one word...everything. Take care Andrew
I've seen Let It Be movie in cinema quite a few times in Spain. Yes, these kind of things happen. First time in 1981
Hey. Love your videos!! I will be excited for Mind Games and Living in Material World remixes. I will buy much of the items as a fan. May pass on Ringo. Lets see how it goes....
All good stuff. I'm skipping the exclusive RSD stuff, because, frankly, RSD can get stuffed. But from Dhani's podcast interview, it sounds like the audio for Wonderwall Music and Electronic Sounds has been improved for this release (remixed? remastered?) so fans of those LPs may want to grab them. Definitely looking forward to One Hand Clapping, and it shows that MPL is finding a way to release archive material that doesn't depend on an Archive Collection... which is fine with me. Time to make some room on the shelves!
Hi
I cannot understand people saying we don't need the original movie. For more than 50 years, we have been moaning rhat they didn't release it.
I am glad it will be released, and I think it will be released before Christmas.
The McCartney release One Hand Clapping is great.
You don't have to play the bootleg anymore.
Let's hope there will be a George Harrison release.
Take care.
One Hand Clapping Blu-ray PLEASE!!!
Will we ever get a Rubber Soul box set? Fingers crossed for later in the year🤞
Wait.
@@jamesmanon3000Until I come back to your side?
Thanks! I am new to your videos. Thanks for the fresh, positive and upbeat news. Finally just watched GET BACK and while l did not like much of the restoration (too glossy or muddy) the overall historical content was impressive. I was disappointed that there was NO additional look at the restoration on the discs, but l hope that is to come. Anyway, keep up the good work and l have subscribed!
Thanks for watching! 🙂👍
Have you watched the restored Let It Be yet?
just a bit of a moan we have got most of one hand clapping i would like to see a deluxe give my regards to broad street reissue something whats been missing from the cd racks for a long time everything what comes out as not got to be in a big box stand alone orignal track listing of london town and back to the egg remasted album and cd would be welcome as for george we had excellent reissues of the concert for bangla desh on cd dvd in 2005 2006 we had living in material world remasted with a dvd so how there going to in prove on any of those will be very interesting cheers
Was hoping you would do a summary of all the news that unfolded this week. You help clarify all the information. Wanted to briefly share. Today, Ringo & Linda Perry did a brief appearance & chat, along with a listening party for the new EP; Crooked Boy at Amobea Music in Hollywood, California . I could not attend but my partner did. By all accounts, ( in our humble opinion) this EP is one of the exceptional ones. Songs are very well crafted with fantastic production. BTW- Ringo looks amazing! There was also a very limited edition 7” red colored single of; “February Sky”. sold after the listening party. ( only from the Amobea store). Lastly, the news of George Harrison- Living in the Material World receiving special treatment is very exciting. ( a personal favorite of mine) One Hand Clapping is also a great surprise. The flood gates are open. 🙌🏽🙌🏽✌🏽
As great as these releases may be, we are still missing one of the greatest albums in the Beatles solo period to be remastered and remixed in Dolby Atmos “RINGO”… Now that will be great news…
on the fence with mccartneys release one hand happy for something new but sad no archive, must agree with you pauls acoustic version of peggy sue is great i allways loved that.
I adore the _One Hand Clapping_ material, great news Andrew. ✨
(Frankly I'd be up for a Peter Jackson restored, 3D glasses presentation of the _One Hand Clapping_ film too... )
Still no news on _Rockshow_ returning to streaming I suppose?
No Rockshow news that I've heard!
I like Johns estate more in terms of remixes and deluxe editions but on streaming they are counted extra and separately, while Paul just replaced the older remaster with the new archive collection remaster/remix. I think thats better because as a casual person you will only get to see the „standard“ version that in case of John is weaker than the ultimate mix.
The announcement thus far has been that Let It Be will exclusive to Disney+ unfortunately. Disney are really trying to get out of physical media completely in order to force people into signing up for their ongoing subscription fees. Based on what I've heard, the deals with Sony and All Interactive are only going to keep their older releases in circulation and it's only going to be very limited as to which titles will be available. However, Get Back was also originally meant to be Disney+ exclusively, but the surviving Beatles and Peter Jackson stepped in and insisted on at the very least a limited physical release. Hopefully they will once again be able to talk sense into the Disney suits, but Disney are really opposed to physical media because they know that they can make a lot more money from streaming. It sucks because fans want something to have in their own collections and physical media is actually better for the environment than streaming (which sounds backwards but it's true, streaming relies on massive servers running 24/7 around the world and as a result, it has a huge carbon footprint).
It looks like the London Town and Back to the Egg Archive collections have been shelved. These archive sets have become prohibitively expensive with each successive archive collection and my guess is that the market for it has dried up.
We are the market, not yet crenated here...
Also, forthcoming collaboration between Paul and John's sons.
I feel.we've been waiting for Paul McCartney archive collection.to release London Town.and back to the Egg. ' i'm sure its made and ready to go.c'mon.already
I'm most excited about Mind Games coming out in June (or July) because while I liked the original mix, I couldn't stand Yoko's idea of a remix in 2002, so I was thankful the 2010 remaster was the original one. She made hers too reedy, too much on the high end, and re-edited certain songs, fading out early, sound effects on the title track - I didn't like it at all. So I'll wait til the proper box comes out - I'm planning to sleep til noon on Record Store Day. If it says "RSD First", then I wait...not IN LINE IN 50 DEGREE WEATHER feeling like I'm homeless.
Thanks Andrew! Exciting times for us fans!
I think there is heaps of releases ready to go sitting in warehouse somewhere ready to go.... Just need a green light for it to get it out.... ❤
The date of the Disney rebroadcasting of 'Let it Be' coincides, as near as possible, with original date of the original 1970 New York premier of of the documentary. Whilst looking up 'Let it Be' I also read that the first, rough, cut of the film was at least an hour longer. one wonders if the there are records of what was in the rough cut, and whether that material might be reassembled. Maybe.... I was pleased to hear one of the new Ringo songs, where he sings without auto-tune, he sounds so much more honest.
I have the original Let Be movie DVD I got from Russia, I had to sign for it when it arrived
We need as physical release of One Hand Clapping
Andrew, I have yet to see a review of Ringo’s “Crooked Boy” EP on You Tube!
I would have done it but my local record shop didn't get their copies in on time, I'm still waiting!
Let It Be was released on VHS in the US.
I think that was back in the early 80s? The instance I mentioned relates to a planned re-release in the very early 90s that didn;t go ahead, around the same time as Help! and Magical Mystery Tour were released on VHS (in the UK anyway, not sure on the US)
Thanks for the extra info. I probably found it in a video rental place sometime 1985-90. The image quality wasn't great.
We need tue BlueRay!
That’s very exciting news about One Hand Clapping! Was the cover you showed in the press release or is it a cover of a bootleg?
The cover I showed was used in the press release 👍
I think Let It Be will come out physically, my bet would be November.
Best UA-cam video of the month!!!
The release of OHC is such good news, but Andrew, correct me if I'm wrong, I haven't seen the piano medley on the list. That has always been my favourite bit of the documentary.
What's on the list shown is the most accurate news we have so far.... until the pre order pages are up I guess.
Thank you. Really enjoyed that
I seem to remember that Let It Be did come out on VHS Andrew.
I think it did several years before the very early 90s planned release I was mentioning here 🙂👍
Is this concert for Bangladesh going to be a 4k release of the concert or an album ?
Not known yet
Is the One Hand Clapping an extended version of what’s on the Archive Collection of Band on the Run on CD and DVD?
Yes, check out the full track listing at about 5:30 in this video 🙂👍
I would love a surround sound DVD release of The Concert for Bangladesh.
Finally have my copies of Mind Games EP (dark vinyl) and Ringo´s EP. Mind Games sounds great. I never was the biggest fan of Mind Games but the remix made me really interested in the new release because all releases by John from 1972 till 1975 really need a remix. And Ringo is a born country performer, so I am happy with Crooked Boy too. And...wonderful news about One Hand Clapping. That´s again the typical McCartney surprise, you never know what to expect by him. So obviously no archive edition, but one hand clapping and hopefully a new studio album. Fingers crossed for that and for a bit more speed by George´s camp ;). One more question Andrew: why is there no RSD video by you? What did you buy?
Hi, I wasn't able to get Ringo's Crooked Boy vinyl until yesterday due to it not being sent to my local record store in time, so I didn't want to do a video without Ringo being included, and now it feels too late! I bought U2 Atomic City, George's Wonderwall Music and Anne Briggs.
Excellent update Mr Dixon!
Thanks Mr Griffiths!
