The anime made this scene look a lot better, imo.
Definetely
It goes to show how much David Productions cares about this story. They are the true JoJo fans.
The stupid timeskip tho
@@jethor yeah, that was kind of unnecessary
@@zh7334 i mean, it made sense with the character, for polnareff he just said " this is a trial, dont you agree, Jean Pierre Polnareff ", when in reality he has much more than what people can see, hes a character that hides his intentions and secrets in the shadows, where people only see the bare minimun so that his past doesnt come back to haunt him
"D-did you just interrupt your own monologue?"
1:16 "I am above you! And you are beneath me!"
What Polnareff actually meant: "It's over, Diavolo. I have the high ground"

@@ginogatash4030 he said emperor crimson because of the localization

I know I’m super late, but skipping time while monologueing makes complete sense for Diavolo’s character.
He skips time while talking “directly” to Polnareff, but why do we act like that’s the only time when that happens? He *literally* monologues during skipped time ALL THROUGHOUT THE PART. When he does it to Bucciarati, he explains his ability and taunts him, while Bruno is completely unaware. The same with Risotto, and also Giorno as well with the taunting.
So why don’t we question those moments? Because they *make sense* , Diavolo is extremely egotistical, and likes belittling others while they are literally being slaves to their own fate during skipped time. He sees himself as superior to everyone else, which is why he ALWAYS taunts his opponents. Plus, skipping time while he takes over from Doppio masks his identity further from Polnareff, in which our French Boi literally verbalized his confusion as to why Diavolo is standing where a kid was moments ago.
TL;DR: It’s not stupid, we just point that one moment out because it wasn’t in the manga, and miraculously forget all the other times Diavolo does it
When he was talking directly to Bruno while explaining his KC further inside erased time - was he actually talking to Bruno or was it like 4th wall break when anime character explains stuff out loud to the audience? Because that's what JoJo does a lot. But other than that taunting enemies (even if they don't hear it) - yes it makes sense and is very Diavolo-like. And Diavolo is very similar to Dio who also talks smack to his enemies inside stopped time. But then in the Diavolo reveal he does his villain monologue and then adds "don't you agree... Jean Pierre Polnareff?" - did he expect a response? Also Araki lets us know WHEN time skip happens by adding the cool space effect which originally wasn't in this scene so I think he let that out on purpose.
Also funny meme that shows logic of this change ua-cam.com/video/pZUAo_EqtGM/v-deo.html&ab_channel=LimpToast
This is a great video...
...Wouldn't you agree, Jean Pierre Polnareff?

Wow listen to this with headphone on load volume that bass tho 0:19
Maybe you shouldn't listen to it on full volume (especially in headphones) 😅?
Mangaka Connor why
I feel like in the manga Diavolo just didn't consider hiding himself to someone who would just end up being killed by him in a matter of seconds, that's why he didn't skip time. And it kinda works I guess.
Also come on, skipping your monologue and asking Polnareff if he agrees looks badass and 10 times cooler but is essentially pretty dumb.

You wanna know what would of been cool for diavolo they could of made it so every line he has you could skip a part of it and it still would of made sense
Wait did he not time skip his reveal in the manga?
Because it's strange. Why would Diavolo skip his own monologue?
