Was thinking of doing the same thing to a ZT that I love but hate the way it closes because of the detent. Came here and saw this!! Can’t wait to mod it! Nice work
Great tip. Simple reviews are the nbr 1 reason most of us subscribe to a channel, but fix-it tips and mod tips are awesome, and at least by me, appreciated. I have a small fine tipped diamond engraving bit for my dremel that should work great for doing that! Thanks!
yes sir folders with detents are nice all my Jake hoback come with them along with his little roller detents and it makes them just perfection, some knives simply are fine without but when you get a knife you love but maybe gives you thumb issues this little tricks is a great way to solve the problem and takes but a minute of time. Good video sharing for other to learn this little tricks in the folding knife world.
Well done I’m going to do this with 2 of my knives . Some company does It I forget who but Shabazz did a disassemble and the knife had a good little detention ramp and he loved it and I liked it too so again well done you didn’t go too far witch I know some people would think they would go a lot furtherance ruin the knife. I’m really impressed very nice bruh
Good job! After this. I take one of my 3" Roloc discs (Scotch-Brite), and buff the ramp. Making it shiny, and glossy smooth! Plus, a drop of heavier oil, on the detent path. : - )
Interesting tip on the detent ramp! I thinks many of my knives could use some custom assistance like this and other types of modifications for easier closing and deployment. My only concern would be the safety issue related to a possible false closing? Have you noticed any concern with that?
Thanks I was just wondering. How about blade play when open? Are you noticing any additional blade play when opened? I tried this ramp method on the small closed hole on a few knives and I took too much on one knife and then there was a lot of blade play when closed which was a big problem and I basically kind of wreaked the knife.
Yea after I thought about it more the liner lock would not be effected by this little ramp. Thanks for getting back. I will have to give this a try sometime!
I do this same thing with a dmt cone shaped diamond file and then polish in a stop edge, great little mod anyone can do to make them drop shut.
That's a good way to do it 👍
Hey - Can you perhaps explain? I've got a REALLY stiff knife that I'd like to work on. The drop is one of the stiffest I've ever experienced.
Same, much easier to control and pretty fast as well
Nice work Tom.
Thx Jay!

Nicely done.
Thx Barry!
You can see it still double clutching afterwards. Needs to be a longer and more gradual ramp
I need to do this to my Zero Tolerance ZT 0804CF.
Thanks for the video my Bladed Brother 👍 ⚔️ ✝️ 🇺🇲
Nice
👍👊
Well done brother!!
Thx big red!

you are a braver man than I. There are no redoes, well done. Great video keep it up
Haha I know, I've had some mods that didn't go that good

Yeah it's always nice when companies take that extra step
What knife is this it looks nice
Good job!

I don't see anything like that happening. Where the lock face meets with the blade tang is still solid

Nope no blade play either
