Edit: A lot of missing points and comments are addressed in subsequent videos, and I'm working on making more as time, energy, and my own gameplay progress allows. Be sure to check those out, and if you want to watch my gameplay firsthand, check my Twitch channel to find the broadcast recordings. You might find exactly what you're looking for as I talk out my thoughts live on stream. Notable Points/Corrections: - You may reload your save game up to 2 save points prior to losing your run. That's up to potentially 6 days of time travel to prepare your defenses better, or to simply try again on a botched execution. - The shop opens at HQ level 2. If you are barely able to scrape by this early goal, consider returning to the game mode later. - I've received a lot of comments from newer players - first off welcome and I hope you're enjoying Arknights as a whole so far! Unfortunately, this mode is balanced heavily towards late-game accounts. If you're interested in trying this mode out without too much of a struggle, I would suggest a good goal to start with is to have at least 2 E2 Lvl 40 4-star operators in all primary Operator classes (starting with I would argue, Medics) to be slotted into Logistics Operator stations, where they will NOT be available for deployment. 4-star units are cheaper to invest in, and some are good in other modes but are lackluster here, which makes them suitable for the role. If you can supply that, and then a comfortable roster of other powerful units to do everything else with the buffs, I would say you're well-prepared for this mode's level of difficulty and operator demands. If not, there are plenty of other point farming guides available to collect the sanity-free resources from the shop earlier than expected, which will help you clear other content easier. - Raid frequencies aren't an exact science, but a raid every score period is a rough default. Don't worry too much about the early ones - they're usually melee-based. --- Good grief I really filled in a niche that needed filling huh? Thanks for all of your kind words so far (and thanks for the dismissive comments that missed the point too - gotta stay humble and remember not to feed the trolls) I'm currently playing at a slower pace than a lot of you since this was a passion project brewing for some time but I didn't have enough in me to get proper recordings and stuff when RA launched. If you'd like to join me on my journey, definitely check out the stream VODs on my Twitch channel if you can't catch me live - I'll do my best to answer questions in between things! As of writing, I just finished in-game day 20, and for reference, my account has been playing since launch. If you're newer to the game, take your time - Arknights is a slow burn and knowing the fundamentals is key to appreciating how to use the higher-end operators more effectively than an inexperienced player (or, if you're truly skilled, substituting other operator combos to fill in!). This game's been out for almost 5 years now; even I don't have a perfect account despite how much I love this game and everything it has to offer. The early game overall is rough, but that's definitely intentional - Rome wasn't built in a day, and neither will your base. Besides the tangible upgrades of tech tree points and rewards shop materials, you will always retain the experience of actually playing through the maps and knowing what to expect, where to check, and what you've already tried to throw against it. I'll try to emphasize this more in the next guide where I cover more new stuff and maybe a few map-specific clears.
You sure did, I really enjoyed RA1 so I was disappointed to see there was so much hate for it. Glad there are others out there who liked it! Edit: the strange territory stuff is probably my favorite addition so far.
Reminds me of the anniversary stream where they went over the stats; only 10% of players managed to get all the rewards in the month that it was open, even though there were low-level methods of cheesing the score. I was definitely one of those 10%... As for Strange Territory, that'll come soon on my campaign! Looking forward to it.
@@BunnyBiss Essentially resetting all the player's progress between runs because you didn't play perfect feels fucking awful honestly. RA 1 was cool and fun BECAUSE you were building your shit up over the course of all your runs, which you don't get here. It feels terrible. And the raids are a pain in the ass to deal with, the thunder season double fucks you over because why not? There's no way to get the raid to proc before thunder season either. It all combines into one awful feeling mess that doesn't feel rewarding in the short or long term.
@@eeroke12 Sorry to hear you didn't enjoy it. The first boss is definitely the toughest because you barely have any resources to work with at that point, like devices and food buffs. I definitely haven't been playing perfectly though, and I'm currently on day 98 on my first playthrough. Several of the tough fights I had to spend multiple acts on, or reload to try again. It's really hard to get the game into an unwinnable state though, if you're able to whittle down raids before they get to your base.
Oh god please no air-game... Definitely not looking forward to that raiding party when I get it. Edit: The gargoyles are here. Still not looking forward to it. At least they're melee until I poke them...
one thing that I found both useful and funny is that Phantom is unironically decent 1. it's 2 dudes in one slot, potential food save 2. good grounded hunter on those who run away and stop, as you first scare with main, then kill with puppet 3. while puppet can't pick up resources, bro can at least help somewhere while main is doing work
@@kyarumomochi5146 yeah I happen to not have her (didn't want her :trol:) and I imagine that works well But hey, ya work with what ya have, I have phantom who I raised more or less out of spite (I have Yato Alt, but only E1 compared to E2+both mods lv2 on Ph), and he does whatever job I give him well.
As someone who overuse Phantom any chance I get, I’m pretty sure the puppet’s scythe has brought death to more animals than all of my other fast redeploy combined. Somehow my Texalter has a tendency to let the goats run away with a pixel of health left. 😂
My experience with the Gamemode: no wood, go gather wood No food, spend the day doing nothing and get 2 rice 😢 No water, spend the little wood i have for water pumpie. No wood again 😭
To make rice/food, i need to gather wood and water, but i can't do so because i have no food for stamina. I wish they gave us a bigger resource to spend at the start to climatize
The early game is ROUGH. I should've made this clearer but this is why I went over hunting maps first: you cannot do anything without food and that should always be your first priority.
if you have nothing to do but still have actions remember that 'encounter' refresh every 2-3 day you might get food or resources there and my advice is focus on the left branch until the drill icon and there will be a iron farm in the right branch before the drill but you will need to fight first to unlock it and another thing is always check enemy info
Would you believe me if I said it could've been longer if I decided to read off my 48-page notes document, but decided not to because of the sheer amount of changes that the permanent mode update released? ...yeah that's part of the reason why I decided Google Slides, scuff, and the gift of gab would have to be enough for post-launch day.
If it comes to operators, I'd recommend Ambriel and Goldenglow. Global attack range can help finish off spotted enemies anywhere on the map if your blocker can't deal with them solo. They can also be insanely good in early base defense since you don't have enough structures to funnel enemy hordes.
You're on the money! Global skills or passives in general help so much in relieving some of the pressure you'll face here. Too bad we don't have Angelina repair bug anymore though...
Or use Reapers Guard They would be really useful to take wood when doesn't have a tool to farm it Especially Executor Alter His skill 3 is just wood annihilator
Resource maps: I used reaper guards to harvest and fast-redeploy for transport. Good video, and I think, there is room for more, like how to build the base, where to find ressources, how and where to fight several raids etc.
Oh man, Reapers! I totally forgot to mention them; I found a good spot on Jagged Jungle that Humus can camp to lock down a spawn and defend a harvester hub. I'll try to cover maps soon! Still gathering experience and footage on stream in the meantime.
Personally, Executor alter works very nicely since his s1 is automatic and increases his range, so he works very well to harvest multiple targets at once, let alone defend his position without additional support
Absolute unit of a guide, love this! I just want to add Dorothy S3 is still great for scouting if you aren't familiar with the maps. She also can single-handedly farm meat early on.
Trap masters are a little hard to come by and so I wanted to focus on operators that are either cheap/easier to acquire or distinctly good in the mode first. I don't have my Dorothy built yet (the eternal struggle) but I definitely will try to mention more uncommon picks that people can work with like this one - this is what the game mode ultimately encourages in my opinion.
By the way, if you have Yato Alter and if you're struggling collecting wood since you don't have Harvesters yet. Her S1 deals more damage in comparison to her S2 and S3, and within S1M3, she can rip 4/5 layers of wood easily.
Yo, you did the math! 🙏 Good highlight, especially if people feel comfortable enough to ward off patrols in favor of taking an extra lumberjack. More options is always a net positive.
@@СергейДорожкин-ю6п Personally, Fiametta has been my major deforestation expert. She can reach into the heart of dense clumps of trees and just pounds on them nonstop. Once the harvesters start to reach that area, wood collection goes BRRRRR
@@123goofyking sounds good, but sadly I doesn't have her. Same as Mlynar. So... Eija with Syrtr melt all trees. Even through I rush, I can't take it all with defenders and fast redeploy
I thought this mode would be clash-of-clans-like, but man.. i was wrong, I could barely create any structures to defend my base because of how hard it was to gather resources. Not to mention that enemy raids always appear on a fixed day and doesn't scale with your progress, meaning if you waste even one "action", your entire run is pretty much cooked. At least this game mode spits on those endgame doctors who say sweep-auto-deploy ruins the game because it leaves them with no idea what else to do.
It's so incredibly deep, and I love it - even if I understand why people pass it off. But it really stretches the limits of what Arknights is capable of, and it's so bold in doing so even if they didn't get it perfect the second time around. Also, Clash of Clans is actually a map name, haha. Wonder if it was a subtle jab - Clash of Clans (the mobile game) for me is so shallow and predatorily monetized that it makes gacha look like a saint by comparison. I do want to dispute the notion that you have to play perfectly though: every good player and guide maker has to go through countless hours of trial and error that may be more enjoyable to them specifically, but is still hard and frustrating at times - myself included! I do think they could've added a few low-resource maps as a confidence booster, but I must stress that you can't let perfect be the enemy of good. It's a mentality that builds up over standard Arknights gameplay clears that I think needs to be put on hold again in RA to really allow learning to happen again. Having just finished my third stream of my first campaign (days 20-30, one major raid defeated), I can safely say I'm not quite out of the woods yet, but I'm seeing glimpses of power trickle in from my investment. Since it's a permanent mode now, I'm happy to say that the option of just coming back when you have more operators, experience, or both is always open. There's that old saying that one has to use the cheapest tools in order to appreciate the most expensive ones - I think it's a bit much, but there's some truth to it here.
It is too punishing and less rewarding than normal IS i started slow and have been trying to catch up and make up for my errors i am stuck with the first raid boss because his 2nd phase makes him runs like hell and i dont get enough dp to deploy any one before he runs through the blue box, i just left it aside i am wishing i could start from 0
Thanks for this, reinforced some of my earlier observations and noticed some of the differences from the first RA (which I played too much too! LOL) as well on my initial runs. Good info/tips on the maps and operators (and their skills) matching.
@@DoctorSockratesgotta say, the first thought that crossed my mind when the video started playing was : hey, nice voice. 😂 Thanks for the guide, I remembered about the merchant class but I completely overlooked the agent vanguards when looking for fast redeploy. Shame on me, I have all three. Really glad they made it a permanent game mode because I so wanted to play the first one and I ended up only having about 1 or 2 hours for it because of real life events.
Thank you! I’m playing it right now and this is my second favourite mode after is. I’m really happy that you did a guide not to farm those points just to close the shops but how to actually play
There's a happy side effect: once you start taking more difficult maps with more resources, your score per 3 days goes way up. It's almost as if investment actually does pay off.📈 Then again, score per hour in real time depends on how fast you play...and that takes time to get good at.
Very helpful guide, definitely nice to get a guide which actually encourages you to play the game. Was a bit fan of the original RA and played a lot of it (though not as much as others, as I never was that good at it) Been really waiting this mode to arrive to EN. Only real issue I've had so far is the punishing hordes of enemies which spawn practically immediately during the Jet pack boss fight. Oh well. Still very useful guide!
@@DoctorSockrates Ironically right after I posted that, I remembered that operators with the Crowd-Control tag are in fact good at controlling crowds, and just used Reed Alter and Ethan to deal with the hordes of enemies. Now it's just a matter of dealing with the silly Keystone who ironically is putting up the most fight so far… Oh well, I still personally think that region locking material progression is a bit of a silly decision. But still enjoying the game mode none the less.
It is a huge wake-up call, honestly. I can see the argument that it's kinda preparing you for the twists and rule-bending gameplay ahead though. More powerful operators will make things easier, but you'll still need enough game knowledge and game sense to seize victory. It definitely blows that there's not a lot of early game confidence boosters to give you a good nudge towards this first goal - I feel like Arknights players overall are too used to either getting things perfect, or not at all. Perfect can't be the enemy of 'good enough' in this game mode!
@@DoctorSockrates I probably should start voicing my roadblocks in this game to you more often, because again right after, I found the right combination on how to do enough damage to beat the Keystone (haha). So now it's back to more exploration in the desert. I can certainly agree with that notion, RA is really all about experimenting and rewarding players who explore the maps, finding all of the hidden caches, treasure chests and bushes; Figuring out which operators are good for item grinding, etc. But I can understand why players can feel the need to get things perfect. The main stages (and by proxy Annihilation) require perfection to get the full rewards and get access to auto-redeploy. Same goes with IS which rewards for completing the stage perfectly in a row (Well, I think it does? But at least I know IS3 and above do punish the player if they loose life seals). Not to mention old SSS design gave you the trimmed medal if you didn't like a single enemy. It establishes a potential perception of perfection in the player base going into RA2, you only do get two actions per day and each day can bring you closer to a progressively more challenging assault on the base. So the notion to get things right the first time is something that is definitely present, and I can vouch for that fact. It wasn't until my third restart, and after some additional confidence from sources that I realized that your main base is absurdly tanky and can be easily repaired with gold. So I gave myself a bit more leniency on what I could afford to do. Sure, I still do occasionally re-load saves every once in a while when I want to experiment and re-do stages (especially when it's the day just after a new save gets created). But I can also understand another reason for wanting to get things perfect, it's a game mode which can start difficult and still ramps up difficulty, the first push to level 2 base and then max rice farms can take a lot of time. I think it totals to about 150 wood need to do all of the above, something which can definitely take a bit of time. I do definitely agree that the game could do with a bit more 'easy wins' in the first few days to boost confidence. Maybe an encounter node which for some gold can guarantee to give you a Crabbie Pump or the tier 1 harvesting bot, or have an early research node which does pretty much the same thing? Oh well.
Base-kun best defender :> Sometimes, merely talking to another person (or if you're a programmer, a rubber duck) really does help the logic gears churn out a solution, y'know? You know where to find me!
16:50 for hunting maps you can pretty much bring 2 ops I found to be a great combo IF you have them and that is Dorothy and Phantom Phantom's S3 has a shift which not only pushes but gives a random cc to the effected targets Dorothy straight up reveals the map with her traps on S3 and if you have M3 the traps most likely with 1 shot whatever that target is and all that is required for this strat is 1 high ground tile which is pretty easy and as long as you don't misplace the trap and push the targets wrong every deploy kills the animals no need to worry about traps since you have quite a lot of time and dorothy s3 on m3 makes sure you never run out of traps some alternatives: if you don't have phantom you can use GG as the traps become free vision wards that you can place if you don't have dorothy it's fine you can try and use robin on s1 for the bind and traps to help reveal the map
my main problem with RA is that now it is a permanent mode with nothing in it feeling like it was made to be permanent. (not bashing the guide just having a opinion on the mode / if people are just going to comment " lmao skill issue " don't waste your time reading then.) Rn the game mode has the problem with the 3day loops that if on day 30+ you fuck up and run out of items and your base is not tailor made for some of the more stupid boss waves you are just stuck your whole run ends there in a loop of failing or just passing but your whole base is dead and then you have to do the start part over again being in the bad loop of doing 3/4 days of nothing but spawning fast redeploys on wood nodes and entering a water levels 1 time to get your base upgraded from lvl 1 to lvl 2 and not being blocked from crafting any items at all. the water pumps have timed life so there horrible trading 10 wood for 10 water. the upgrade tree not being permanent when I reset a run feels like a slap in the face. the base for some reason no saving over now when in RA1 it did feels very backwards. Why do I have to reunlock the food crafts every run. I don't want to open a reddit page with the crafts to play a game mode. the food mechanics just not being fun as it makes you be locked out of one half of your node picks since you cant use your good units 2 times a day like in RA1. same withy buff food. almost all the food has bigger debuffs that are not worth the items you need to craft them For new players I have heard some of the following : Some boss waves still being beyond impossible. and ones again this being a game mode where you need a giga build account to play it. that fact that you cant use Op's from your friends is a huge oversight. Most of my friends that have not been playing since week one of global like myself look at the boss waves and burst out laughing when they saw the flying golem wave and just quit the mode. and this is after the Chinese server had a riot at how stupid hard the base game mode was and instead of changing what was wrong they just made a second game mode where the stat bloat is lessen. that is not a fix to a problem that is like putting a dirt covered bandaid on a open wound I love arknights to death and its propyl my most played game all toghter thanks to IS and CC but it seems like the people making the mechanics behind game modes don't understand what is fun. thanks for being at my tedtalk.
Pretty valid criticism of the mode, and Hypergryph is really risking a lot with experimenting with it. There are definitely things that are needlessly obtuse and inaccessible, but I do find that there isn't quite an experience like this anywhere else.
You keep your tech tree points, at least! This is a longer, grand-strategy mode that isn't as digestible as Integrated Strategies. Decision making matters!
This mode definitely feels like untested wild frontier. The complete loss of your base and technology and going back to starving and trying to get enough wood to make a planter feels really bad. I've beaten all the other IS modes, over and over, but I might just not bother playing this one past day 12 until it feels less awful.
Completely fair! It's delayed gratification taken to some very big extremes. Though, small but important distinction: you keep your tech tree points on campaign reset, and you can respec them differently if you so choose. You will still be gated by HQ upgrades, but you can have the first tier of tech tree advantages going into a fresh campaign. I will also say that replaying the early game having learned what not to do leads to better early decisions, which leaves better breathing room in the middle and late game to survive mistakes and explore uncharted territory. People undervalue the power that knowledge and *actual experience* carries (not the number go up kind, the lived kind). If you've played games like XCOM or Civilization, it's more likely that you have the patience for all of this. And, if not, I'm sorry that Arknights was your first dip.
Oh this is perfect, thank you so much for making this! I struggled with RA1 when it was released because I just couldn't wrap my head around it all, and only really started enjoying it in the final days of the event (I think I barely scraped by to day 10 in RA1). I'm excited to give it another go now and get even better, especially with these good starter recommendations!
I can say Dollkeepers are good for fortresses and boss enemies tiles, they effectively can just keep fighting without dying, they might not be the optimal option but it's very entertaining to just have them switch back and forth between substitute constantly lol
Y'know, I have made use of some Dollkeeper friends on a certain boss map involving a big scary guy in the middle of the map, back in RA1. I can agree in general though: they're really useful if you can guarantee that their substitutes don't blow up, and especially when there's too much low ground to deploy a good medic and if the healing Defenders can't keep up. In fact, I'd use them on scrappy hunting targets if my Ambushers are taking a holiday - their survival method of simply not blocking things is very similar.
I would vouch for kazemaru as one you can take on resource gathering missions (at least early ones, haven't gone into rocks yet). Her s2 increasing her attack AND doing the aoe nuke at the same time work very well for harvesting trees in low operator compositions, and help clean some otherwise bothersome enemies that might stumble into her (together with her substitute's nuke if she's defeated). Also her doll extends her vision and technically increase her attack range, so it's been pretty useful for me so far.
There was a funny fan art of Mlynar wearing a plaid lumberjack outfit that I'm reminded of and I wish in hindsight I found it again to ask permission to credit the artist and put it in the video. Rhodes is a kind organization to our vulnerable operators, but the irony of then proceeding to send the best and the brightest young operators to the logging camps and mines while operating in Sargon is not lost on me. Something something yearn for the mines.
@@DoctorSockrates LMAO why can I imagine that on Mlynar and it feels oddly fitting 😂 Poor old man's gonna break his back Also I need to thank you cuz I've been searching for a guide like urs for a long time, but all I found was as you said, how to not play the mode. I'm searching for guides BECUZ I wanna play it man. I found it really fun even without searching for guides, got all the way to day 40+ but got too overwhelmed with so many raids and bad decisions so I restarted and now on my 2nd run 😂
Im on day 67 rn I don't even need a base to survive. Just kill everything at the start you got like 5-11 days to defeat it (but do it if map is good enough. 1 Blue box or 2 box close to each other) Honestly hardest boss I experienced for now was crocodile. 400k hp and 100% damage reduction from anything but blocker at 50% hp... And you have to defeat it in one day (only 2 acts)
Good to hear! Some maps are really good for interception but it's harder for most players to recognize if it's viable to do so; the base is used as a crutch early on in the first 30-ish days as a safer way to experience the strength of raiding parties without feeling like you've wasted an action point intercepting and failing a defense.
Thanks for the good amount of information! this is kind of video i'm looking for haha. if you don't mind i also wanna share some of my tips for the people who wanna play this mode seriously. 1. For resource collecting if you still don't have the machinery, you can use silverash + defender that have "average" redeploy time. SA talent -rdp is really good 2. For resource map that have wide area resources on one big location like the 120 wood map or you already know the layout of the map for the resources locations, you can use the combo of 1-3 machinery + mlynar, suzuran, virtuosa, eyja and any good aoe dmg dealer, my record is 104 wood collected on 1 act with the combo. this combo also clear stone and iron really easily! the key here is actually suzuran that could boost our op damage and machinery.
I absolutly love Reclamation Algorithm since the first iteration since it centered on revealing my man Passenger's backstory in the most subtle way. It's nice to see a guide available now, since when i first started my run as soon as it launched, it was difficult to figure out some of the new things. I'll be checking this when I hit a wall
For some reason, both my favorite game have bad tutorial and have learning wall instead of learning curve but both community are also very chill... Including how they laugh at each other content/video/build (Arknight and Warframe). Thankyou for the guide!
Side note: incantation medics and enmity guards is extremely good if you fight against enemies with reflect damage (Reed alter, Hibiscus alter, Zuole, Humus, FedEx, etc) Incantation medics heal while fight enemies, enmity guards are the same (also they don't need healers, they heal through fighting)
Thank you so much! This is exactly the kind of guide I was looking for. Also congrats (on the content creation side) for being so early with such a helpful guide--the views are definitely paying off, and it hasn't even been a full day yet! 😂
Very nice Guide to start of ur RA Journey! One thing i will not forgive though, is not mentioning the Hunting Squad Queen Dorothy! Her S3 Mines are Godsend to scout the Map for the Juicey Meat and clearing them. :P
@@DoctorSockrates yea they do in a Cross Pattern (The Detonation Range). Those Mines also raise the Usefulness of Global Skill Operators like Goldenglow or Ambriel, since they provide Vision for those Skills.
Dorothys value falls off when you get the tech upgrade that allows you to light 8 squares around the operator tough. At that point FRDs are so much better
@@kyarumomochi5146 Kinda true but also false, since Mines dont follow a deployment Limit rule. Like a lot of cases the answer would be: Just make use of both. Best of 2 Worlds.
That's absolutely huge! Good to know that they'll trigger properly and grant vision. God I really need to build at least one of them; I remember enjoying Robin in the gramophone stages because traps counted as allied units for charging them.
I'll try to cover endings as I get them, but will hold off for now since I've yet to experience it myself when there's so much to do in the game. They weren't kidding about the long term part, and I'm personally happy about that!
@@DoctorSockratesbut Worse, the Location, is Random AF! And Sometimes I'm in the Wrong Location at the Wrong time(Both Too Late and Too Early) or it sets on the F**king Faraway Unexplored Location.... *sigh*
The original RA had 3 endings, of which I got all 3. You had to do them over multiple runs. This one, I haven't confirmed yet, and I'm not spoiling myself on the Terra Wiki even if they did have it documented.
Something I recall from the original run was that Silence and Skalter were very good at scouting the map since their summons had the 3x3 vision range on top of the ability to provide healing in far off areas.
Yes indeed! Clutterknights is super underappreciated in this mode. ...also thank you for reminding me that I should find someone else to take Silence's spot in the Logistics Operator bench. 😭
i clicked your video for the EXACT reason you said in your intro, it was all just quick farms except for this one lmao. Thank you for an actual guide, albeit a long one however the sad part is there's a timegated part, that with the scoring and raids, and probably means I can't just go heads down and play it like I can with Integrated Strategies IS modes :(
I'm not sure what you mean by time gated, but at the very least I'm very happy to hear this fit the bill. As much as I'd like to try and condense things, even now I get questions on stuff I haven't covered yet - it's a big beast to sink your teeth into in late game.
Thanks for this video! I'm returning to arknights after a long hiatus and I have no idea how to tackle this mode (but I don't want to go in hating it like some other ppl are!) Liked and subbed, looking forward to a part 2 where hopefully my one braincell learns where to place walls / ranged tiles / guns so I don't get stuck in a save -> load file cycle lol Some tips on what to buy first in the shop, and general strats for each raid boss would also be great! Actually even a livestream upload where you talk over all of your recruit / deploy decisions in maps would be helpful~
I'll see what I can do about getting my Twitch VOD's uploaded here! Might be a second channel kind of thing, we'll see - need to check what best practices are on that.
Executor Alter is REALLY good in this mode 1. He is the ultimate shredder for resource mining so that collector robot can gather materials faster and more efficient AND he protects the collector machine too 2. Put him behind Mizuki for the ultimate Opp Stopper to prevent small fast mobs approaching blue box 3. Self Defence against heavy enemies is god tier unless their attack is B+
My first advice: have the correct mindset. Unlike modes like IS that can be tackled by sufficiently prepared mid game player, RA is geared towards late to very late game player. Just take the mode slowly, and do not afraid to reset run when its early. Because even if it would reset your progress, the skill point you got is not. So every new run will get much much easier while avoiding food sinkhole.
@@eeroke12 yes, but you will get the resources drone upgrade nodes for wood and stone immediately. That will make early resources gathering much more smoothly. Resetting also changes the rewards for encounter tile. You can reset the run to give you a favorable encounter rewards for early games like free water, gold, wood, or food.
I'm watching but I need to write down this comment first because I'm sick of the "fast farm" videos too. And yes, I'm struggling to build my base so I hope your 40min guide will actually save me *continue watching*
Inadvertently, those guides are making it out to look like RA is a meaningless game mode not worth learning, understanding and having fun with. In my opinion, that title is reserved for Integrated Strategies.
@janematthews9087 I don't think this is fair. Both modes are worth learning and having a good time with. I enjoy both, and I can guarantee I'm not the only one. The only issue I had with Fire Within The Sands was that it *wasn't* permanent because it meant I couldn't take my time to build my account first before attempting it more as it was around when I got back into it after a multi-year break!
Integrated Strategies feels great in my honest opinion, Reclamation Algorithm on the other hand feels way too much of a hassle to have any fun with if everything was carrying over after resets, then perhaps it would be somewhat approachable, but getting shafted without knowing every minute detail feels super exhausting and frustrating
I never managed to deploy buildings on my base in the first Reclamation Algorithm. I just couldn't figure out how I was supposed to do it and the guides I looked didn't help. I'm hoping I can enjoy this one properly.
few extra tips/summary from a fellow RA1 hardened doktha: the start is always rough asf, this is where u need to give it your all to build ur base for extra daily resources increase your base LV ASAP, that is the first big goal for easier future farming, all your first sufferings are for this FRD can use -6dp or block+1, your choice use block+1 on FRD, especially Mr Nothing s1, he FRD with 3 blocks in RA, also on e0 cantabile Degenbrecher is the GOAT Dorothy is also GOATLY for hunting beasts and opening up resources range also use another device to check RA maps so u can save time from checking the map and trying to remember where the resources are in that map there are still old maps from RA1 they are using there are 8 team slots, i put them as of follow for easier navigating and less prepping 1. Half Wood (6 ops, personally i put Texalter here) 2. Half Hunt (6 ops, different ops than team 1, personally i put Yato Kirin here) slot 1 and 2 for earliest starter 3. Fullpower Wood (12ops, using your best ops and use 1 other act for non-stage) 4. Fullpower Stone/Ore (12ops, same w/ slot3 logic, but more arts, forsake SA if u have anyone better, once want to farm stone, we cant really afford to do 2 stages due to resources limitation much later) 5. Full Hunt Melee only (12ops, some stages are annoying and has no high tile at all) 6. Block Raid (12ops, any raid has tendency, either slow hard hitters) 7. Fast Raid (12ops, or swarmed hard in waves) 8. custom (for some unique bosses and testing out new teams if you feel like replacing any 7 teams above) water pumping can be done in any wood/stone/iron/hunt team so no need to mind a specific team for it
I only started playing earlier this year and have maybe 3 operators that are maxed out so for me most of this video is "words that probably mean something and are probably important stuff". But I have been delaying it so I can finish the other event first and farm all those resources before jumping into this one. So I am now excited to see what I can do on this mode
I wish you could've seen live when I realized "Oh my god it's the trailer theme" last night on stream. I get chills just thinking about that sweet moment again.
I remember trying to just cheese the first RA with those other kinds of guides, but then the more I played it, the more I just liked farming mats & building up the base. Still never beat it, but I'm looking forward to more in RA2
Reed Alter is THE BEST for dealing with reflect damage units, since both the reflect and her healing are a percentage of damage done, the damage and recovery are nearly always identical. Also her skill two can pass that on to two blockers who've blocked a reflect damage enemy. The regen from her spheres is WAY faster than the reflect damage.
This video is a crime to be free. 40 god damn minutes of guides and good information that is well edited and voice by a guy with a very sexy voice. you sir earned my sub!
This might be slightly unrelated but do you happen to know how to get past the area boss in the olden site of zumrutruyasi, the one with one of the tuye cutscenes? I’m having fun with the mode but that node is blocking me from steel and I can’t find any tips on how to clear it as I keep running out of time by the time the priestess/boss came out and I’m honestly desperate :”) Thanks for being one of the only people who gives genuine tips on how to PLAY the game btw, not just SPEEDRUN it, great vid!
edit: this vid is a GODSEND original: i need to finish reading the in-game tutorial and then listen to this vid because goddamn i really want to understand what this game mode is/was (i tried playing the first RA and it just took my braincells) commenting to boost the algorithm
Fun fact/maybe bug(?) I discovered about Lin: Her shield makes her immune to the drought debuff. She straight up doesn't get burnt or stunned. Something to do with how her shield is coded???? I know Phalanx casters aren't particularly versatile, but she did help me solo the croc mobs for that croc priest stage.
Care to share a vid on how the 3x3 Ambusher stack works? I've already invested on 2/4 units so it might be fun to redesign the base at some point to one that caters on that build while still incorporating my Firing Range squad (Horn/Fia/Meteorite). Overall, great video! I really felt bad on how most of these players felt like they're missing out of something by not ACTIVELY participating/playing the gamemode so to some extent I kinda understand that the "Farming" guides were a necessity; HOWEVER, this is a gamemode that aims to remind you that you have a DIVERSE roster of units at your disposal. Something that most Endgame players don't really tap into since you can generally just do the usual deck of units that is TOP tier and be done with things or stick to a much stricter NicheKnights for the challenge. (Edit: here's a SUB! Cheers!)
I'll try and reconstruct it soon, but you can see it in my RA1 screenshot. The changes to roadblock constructs means I can't construct it all out of high ground tiles anymore and I didn't wanna include bad info when I recorded. And, yeah, this mode really wants you to drill deep with restrictions! One thing I think is a big factor is simply the deployment limit. You can expand it with upgrades, but to get there is a long path at 6 unit cap. Managing redeployments with larger squads is a skill that only gets tested in contingency contract I feel like, so it's unsurprising that folks default to "well if I don't have the single slot solution to this I can't do it."
My problem with reclamation algorithm is that it basically a whole different game in and of it self, it's fun however when I have real world stuff to do and don't have time to read a book worth of game mechanics then it's practically overwhelming. With the rogue like style of IS it's still feature the same game play as normal mode of AK and it's also have a lot replay potential, it's perfect imo since I can jump in and know what exactly I'm doing. But with RA I'm so tired from work these day that I don't even want to read how to play it.
You're on the money here; RA adds a completely new strategy layer on top of the round-to-round gameplay of Arknights and throws on twists/inversions on the objective formula (arguably reverting Arknights into its mother genre: Tower Defense -> Real Time Strategy). For me, it's really fresh, and I already like those kinds of games and it really strikes a game-narrative chord of harmony with me. This is the kind of stuff Rhodes Island has to do, and it's cool to be actually doing it and feeling like a heroic leader defending a safe haven through hard work. But for folks like you, I completely understand. It's a lot! And I hope you don't feel bad about it either.
Not that I've got very far yet, but i really like using april, she's essentially fast redeploy sniper with camouflage, perfect for scouting, hunting and overal just very versatile.
As much as I wanted to polish this up, I feel like it was better to just get this out and into the world; gotta love our favorite image editor Google Sheets :> This is just a passion project hobby of mine, so please be considerate! If we really wanted to, I could draw crappy stick figures or record some extra footage using my tablet. But, for now, this'll have to do.
An RA Enjoyer, LET'S GOOOOOOOOUUUUU! Even tho I played quite a bit when it first came out months ago, I didn't actually grasp every aspect. I love the time and dedication put into this. Great video!
I really interested to play this reclamation algorithm, but as most new player including me, the lack variety of operators is huge drawback factor making this game mode feels frustrating. A lot of times and stages make me thinks "if only i have this or that specific operator". However, because this mode is said to be a permanent mode, im looking forward to actually enjoy this mode in the future and thanks to your guide i can understand a lot of things better
I'm glad you recognize that this can wait until you have options to deal with the challenges here. For now, keep at it. This isn't the only thing worth playing in Arknights by far, and Integrated Strategies is a lot of fun when you get rental operators too.
Global skills in general are great! I'm a little further now and you can get something similar to it by sacrificing a little bit of food and some off-roster medics.
Nice intro guide, I was hoping you would tell me how to unlock metal mining though. I am on day 34 and I've explored the entire southern half of the map, and can't figure out how to get past the roadblocks on the left and right hand sides, I'll check your channel for more videos.
My other videos should have you covered. If nothing else, check your quest logs. You'll naturally end up completing objectives as you reveal more of the map, and if there's a node you need to visit, it will be marked.
3:50 correction u can retreat once But you no longer have the first op and the second act of the day. So technically there some play with it if you think the defense ruined Souce: i tried.
@@DoctorSockrates pretty sure u always can. In ra 1 defend twice too but most of the time if it too that point usually already a lost anyway 😕. Like i remember in ra 1 being rushed by catapult then i retreat then gets annihilated since all wall is gone
@@DoctorSockrates in ra 2 i did it in 1 % hp since my base isnt set up so when i restart the defense my base got poke and loss anyway but it is good to know. Though kinda still need a second team anyway to actually work
really helpul vid, kinda wished i saw it before being on day 72 lol. is it possible for you to make a guide for some of the "no mans land" stages, this crocodile priestess has me struggling hard and theres basically no guides rn.
I can't wait to experience those myself; I'll get back to you once I've tried them! Some of the maps are really buried in there but once I have some stream footage, I'll try to remember to get my impressions in. I also play slower since I'm really drilling deep and being thorough, so please bear with me!
Ah yes, the Sarkaz Football Player. Based on my experience with the first game: don't. Let the base tank it. I basically kept my base full HP during FwtS (RA1) and then built my defensive line somewhat close to my base so that when phase 2 drops, I let Hoshi step aside to let the linebreaker through to my very tanky base. Granted, the bases in TwtS might be weaker, so maybe have some repair bots ready this time around. Redeploy a spare defender or Hoshi when possible so that it's only the boss damaging your base, and DPS race him to the depths of his HP bar.
Work smarter and not harder, as they say. Good luck, have fun! Though, word of caution: tech tree upgrades are locked behind HQ upgrades per campaign. You might have enough points to max out the tech tree by farming, but you can only respec into the first nodes available until you're able to upgrade your HQ for that run. If I had it in me to farm throwaway runs, I'd only farm up to the tier 1 node total, then get the rest through normal gameplay. Having those upgrades should allow me higher score gains through normal gameplay, theoretically. Just thinking out loud here though - you do you!
It's easy to say, because your operator is already complete, for me who has a minimum operator, guide for farming points is very helpful, but I also want to play and enjoy the ra2 too😞
I know man, I know. 🥺 Those guides are better for you, and that's alright. Still, hopefully this gives you some guidance on what goals you should aim for at least, and you can look forward to it in the future! It's not going anywhere. I can't unlevel my operators, and it'd take a lot of work to make an alt and test out things. It is what it is, but I still want to share my experience regardless in the hopes that it helps.
Over all I quite enjoy this mode I am just farming points at the moment (doing 3 events, end day 3 to get points, reset) but I like it so far I will probably destroyed later on because I am stupid ^^ Btw Fortress defender can also destroy rocks for a secret path if they happen to hit something right in front of the rock So you can get easy acces if there is something blocking the rock without having to destroy that thing first
@@DoctorSockrates Yea I am using my Firewhistle to open paths so I don't have to chop down trees all the time if they block the rock. Have not tried it with anything else so far.
Their hands get too slippery!...or something. You can mitigate this with crab leg based foods that increase block, or special skills or module upgrade interactions (flagbearer module +1 block was mentioned in the comments somewhere), or by just straight using drones to collect instead and switching some packmule operators out for more DPS. Monsoon season definitely sucks, but I do enjoy watching my 1-block guards absolutely pound on some fools waltzing right past them without retaliating. Try this out with Chongyue in particular if you got him, it's like having a new Ambusher Specialist on the team.
Meanwhile said Angelina S1 bug somehow works on Vernal Winds stages, since I just found out about it due to the recent annihilation. Nonetheless, thanks for the guide.
You know I thought about it after sinking another hour or so into the game mode. I've probably spent close to 3 or 4 hours now. I'm only 46 or so for level in RA--but the mode is really growing on me. I have an endgame account so most raids I can cycle through slowing units and beat the raids. ETHAN IS CRAZY USEFUL FOR STALL. 6 star executer is OP at breaking rocks/trees and has high survivability. Mylnar is OP as usually, and so is Qiubai who has amazing stall with her bind. Our newest dragon is great because of her slow and healing after sowing seeds. I'm scared to get a raid I have no chance of defeating, but I did take care of the golems and boars already so I think I should be safe for a while. I believe my initial frustration came was because I was going into maps early on but not able to harvest much because I didn't know the map well--which made me feel like I wasted resources. Yet that's all part of the mode, trial and error, and discovery. The more experience I get and the better I am at efficiently managing resources and fighting raids early on, the more I come to enjoy the resource management aspect of this mode, and naturally the exploration of it as well. I really want to get to the point where I can build cooler constructs and want the medal set so I'm going to keep at it and hopefully be able to upgrade my base again. My point is that it's actually a lot of fun as long as I have the time to sink into it. It's the slowest game mode in Arknights so far, even most IS runs won't take this long so I get why others think it's boring. That's kind of the point of the mode, though. It's a mode focused on survival and incremental improvements rather than just 'beat enemies - we win'. Of course, once you can easily combat raids then your focuses shifts to the plethora of bosses in the map and the hunting zone.
"THIS GUY! This guy gets it!" Really happy to hear it! Even with my experience, the imperfect information I get playing my first campaign so far with only small bits of information from chat and here on UA-cam makes things so much more exciting than you'd expect.
Tough call. If you're confident and experienced with both the enemies you are fighting and the operators that you're using, or if you don't mind reloading a lot, there's a lot you can get done with an underpowered roster, and the basics could probably be done with enough operators. Thing is, if you've played enough Arknights, you'll know that a LOT of operators get power spikes at E2 lvl 1. I'd also recommend getting a roster to that level because of logistics operator buffs; you'll need promotions to get the full effect eventually. Ultimately the only way to go is up here, so unless you're limiting your account to be pure E1's or something, work towards those goals and you'll have a new playground to test your power.
Notable Points/Corrections:
- You may reload your save game up to 2 save points prior to losing your run.
---
Good grief I really filled in a niche that needed filling huh?
Thanks for all of your kind words so far (and thanks for the dismissive comments that missed the point too - gotta stay humble and remember not to feed the trolls)
I'm currently playing at a slower pace than a lot of you since this was a passion project brewing for some time but I didn't have enough in me to get proper recordings and stuff when RA launched.
I am here for a good time and not a meta time and your guide is a lifesaver for people like me
You sure did, I really enjoyed RA1 so I was disappointed to see there was so much hate for it.

3. while puppet can't pick up resources, bro can at least help somewhere while main is doing work

My experience with the Gamemode: no wood, go gather wood
No food, spend the day doing nothing and get 2 rice 😢
No water, spend the little wood i have for water pumpie.

For me, i would usually just do resource farming and then go hunting. You won't run out of food that way.

Or use Reapers Guard
They would be really useful to take wood when doesn't have a tool to farm it
Especially Executor Alter
His skill 3 is just wood annihilator
Goldenglow Texas and Yato alters are the absolute MVPs of this event
@@DoctorSockrateshave you tried frost or robin?
Wanted to know if only the dorothy s3 mines had that range or if other traps worked similarly.
@@KuroeNezumiit also retain the s3 range, that's why she's meta in hunting maps at Fire in the Sands Event.
Amazing guide! I’m glad there are people out there who take time to learn and enjoy this game mode.
By the way, if you have Yato Alter and if you're struggling collecting wood since you don't have Harvesters yet. Her S1 deals more damage in comparison to her S2 and S3, and within S1M3, she can rip 4/5 layers of wood easily.
Yo, you did the math! 🙏
Good highlight, especially if people feel comfortable enough to ward off patrols in favor of taking an extra lumberjack.
More options is always a net positive.
May be, but there's time/dp efficiency issue. She can make more damage with one deployment, but what if to compare it at long distance?
Tired: It's less efficient.
Wired: If it chops wood, it chops wood.
Inspired: It's all I got, and that's what I'm gonna use.

There's a happy side effect: once you start taking more difficult maps with more resources, your score per 3 days goes way up. It's almost as if investment actually does pay off.📈
Then again, score per hour in real time depends on how fast you play...and that takes time to get good at.
Very helpful guide, definitely nice to get a guide which actually encourages you to play the game.

Now it's just a matter of dealing with the silly Keystone who ironically is putting up the most fight so far…
Oh well, I still personally think that region locking material progression is a bit of a silly decision.
Oh well.
Base-kun best defender :>
Sometimes, merely talking to another person (or if you're a programmer, a rubber duck) really does help the logic gears churn out a solution, y'know?
You know where to find me!
Ohh wow. This guide really helped out. Thanks for the guide bro. Absolutely gonna share this video. Also one new subs here!!
16:50 for hunting maps you can pretty much bring 2 ops I found to be a great combo IF you have them and that is Dorothy and Phantom
Phantom's S3 has a shift which not only pushes but gives a random cc to the effected targets
Dorothy straight up reveals the map with her traps on S3 and if you have M3 the traps most likely with 1 shot whatever that target is
and all that is required for this strat is 1 high ground tile which is pretty easy and as long as you don't misplace the trap and push the targets wrong every deploy kills the animals
no need to worry about traps since you have quite a lot of time and dorothy s3 on m3 makes sure you never run out of traps
some alternatives: if you don't have phantom you can use GG as the traps become free vision wards that you can place
if you don't have dorothy it's fine you can try and use robin on s1 for the bind and traps to help reveal the map
my main problem with RA is that now it is a permanent mode with nothing in it feeling like it was made to be permanent.
(not bashing the guide just having a opinion on the mode / if people are just going to comment " lmao skill issue " don't waste your time reading then.)
Rn the game mode has the problem with the 3day loops that if on day 30+ you fuck up and run out of items and your base is not tailor made for some of the more stupid boss waves you are just stuck your whole run ends there in a loop of failing or just passing but your whole base is dead and then you have to do the start part over again being in the bad loop of doing 3/4 days of nothing but spawning fast redeploys on wood nodes and entering a water levels 1 time to get your base upgraded from lvl 1 to lvl 2 and not being blocked from crafting any items at all.
the water pumps have timed life so there horrible trading 10 wood for 10 water.
the upgrade tree not being permanent when I reset a run feels like a slap in the face.
the base for some reason no saving over now when in RA1 it did feels very backwards.
Why do I have to reunlock the food crafts every run. I don't want to open a reddit page with the crafts to play a game mode.
the food mechanics just not being fun as it makes you be locked out of one half of your node picks since you cant use your good units 2 times a day like in RA1.
same withy buff food. almost all the food has bigger debuffs that are not worth the items you need to craft them
For new players I have heard some of the following :
Some boss waves still being beyond impossible.
and ones again this being a game mode where you need a giga build account to play it.
that fact that you cant use Op's from your friends is a huge oversight.
Most of my friends that have not been playing since week one of global like myself look at the boss waves and burst out laughing when they saw the flying golem wave and just quit the mode.
and this is after the Chinese server had a riot at how stupid hard the base game mode was and instead of changing what was wrong they just made a second game mode where the stat bloat is lessen.
that is not a fix to a problem that is like putting a dirt covered bandaid on a open wound
I love arknights to death and its propyl my most played game all toghter thanks to IS and CC but it seems like the people making the mechanics behind game modes don't understand what is fun.
thanks for being at my tedtalk.
Pretty valid criticism of the mode, and Hypergryph is really risking a lot with experimenting with it. There are definitely things that are needlessly obtuse and inaccessible, but I do find that there isn't quite an experience like this anywhere else.
omg the base and skill tree resets? That just plain out sucks
A man of the people ❤
I saw what needed to be done
Thanks for full guide, actually can see soul in it
Oh this is perfect, thank you so much for making this! I struggled with RA1 when it was released because I just couldn't wrap my head around it all, and only really started enjoying it in the final days of the event (I think I barely scraped by to day 10 in RA1). I'm excited to give it another go now and get even better, especially with these good starter recommendations!
Good luck, have fun, and don't starve!
Subscribed for the funni Popukar chainsaw lumberjacking joke 😂
There was a funny fan art of Mlynar wearing a plaid lumberjack outfit that I'm reminded of and I wish in hindsight I found it again to ask permission to credit the artist and put it in the video.
Rhodes is a kind organization to our vulnerable operators, but the irony of then proceeding to send the best and the brightest young operators to the logging camps and mines while operating in Sargon is not lost on me. Something something yearn for the mines.
@@DoctorSockrates LMAO why can I imagine that on Mlynar and it feels oddly fitting 😂 Poor old man's gonna break his back
Also I need to thank you cuz I've been searching for a guide like urs for a long time, but all I found was as you said, how to not play the mode. I'm searching for guides BECUZ I wanna play it man. I found it really fun even without searching for guides, got all the way to day 40+ but got too overwhelmed with so many raids and bad decisions so I restarted and now on my 2nd run 😂
Happy to hear it! I saw a niche and basically said to myself "This time I know what must be done"
MY. FAVORITE. GAME MODE. I loved it when it first arrived, and I'm gonna love it again
We are kindred spirits, you and I.
@@DoctorSockrates hell yeah. just played the mode for 5 hours straight today on stream and had a blast, cant wait to do it again tomorrow
Thank you for making this… there’s so little of reclamation algorithm guides or info it really feels like I have no idea what I’m doing
SA talent -rdp is really good
2. For resource map that have wide area resources on one big location like the 120 wood map or you already know the layout of the map for the resources locations, you can use the combo of 1-3 machinery + mlynar, suzuran, virtuosa, eyja and any good aoe dmg dealer, my record is 104 wood collected on 1 act with the combo. this combo also clear stone and iron really easily! the key here is actually suzuran that could boost our op damage and machinery.
great video man, I'm REALLY looking forward to more if you make them!
This is what I’m looking for. Thanks for the guide!!
Finally someone doin this guide for RA , im gonna subs for more info about RA
Finally!!! This is what I call GUIDE!!!
Dude Passenger's story went SO HARD
BRO HAD THE REVENGE ARC OF THE CENTURY AND DESTABILIZED AN ENTIRE REGION
Really cool vid! I actually enjoy the game mode :)
For some reason, both my favorite game have bad tutorial and have learning wall instead of learning curve but both community are also very chill... Including how they laugh at each other content/video/build (Arknight and Warframe). Thankyou for the guide!
Lordy loo I have so much to do here I don't know if I could get back into Warframe right now in time for 1999.
Ah i was looking for this thanks for the guide man
Kudos mate, great video. May the algorithm favor you more!
Side note: incantation medics and enmity guards is extremely good if you fight against enemies with reflect damage (Reed alter, Hibiscus alter, Zuole, Humus, FedEx, etc)
Incantation medics heal while fight enemies, enmity guards are the same (also they don't need healers, they heal through fighting)
thank you for this guide man, ive been looking for a video like this!
Real quick actually: do the mines detonating provide vision? That's one of the things I can't test since my Dorothy isn't fully built yet.
As an Ending Seeker like i am, This RA's Different Ending Requirement Crap is just like those IS2-3 Encounters, Random AF!
*sigh*
Frustrating as it is, I see this and think, "Aw yeah, REPLAY VALUE." I can totally understand if that's just a 'me' thought.
Howmany endings does RA have? And can you do them in one run?
The original RA had 3 endings, of which I got all 3. You had to do them over multiple runs. This one, I haven't confirmed yet, and I'm not spoiling myself on the Terra Wiki even if they did have it documented.
I watched it and now I understand it better and will definitely improve my play style. YAHOOO
Thank you! I've been so irritated trying to find how to play this game. i didn't play the OG event so i don't know how to start
I knew this would help someone like you! Thanks for the kind words, I feel vindicated.
Thanks for the guide!
This is the game mode that actually rewards players for building many 5* and 4*.
Tuye also get a unique artifact in this game mode
Fitting how we get a camel to keep us alive in the desert, no?
Something I recall from the original run was that Silence and Skalter were very good at scouting the map since their summons had the 3x3 vision range on top of the ability to provide healing in far off areas.
Yes indeed! Clutterknights is super underappreciated in this mode.
...also thank you for reminding me that I should find someone else to take Silence's spot in the Logistics Operator bench. 😭
finally i found some guy make this video, Thanks
i clicked your video for the EXACT reason you said in your intro, it was all just quick farms except for this one lmao. Thank you for an actual guide, albeit a long one
however the sad part is there's a timegated part, that with the scoring and raids, and probably means I can't just go heads down and play it like I can with Integrated Strategies IS modes :(
I'm not sure what you mean by time gated, but at the very least I'm very happy to hear this fit the bill. As much as I'd like to try and condense things, even now I get questions on stuff I haven't covered yet - it's a big beast to sink your teeth into in late game.
Very well made guide! Thanks for the great info
Thanks for this video! I'm returning to arknights after a long hiatus and I have no idea how to tackle this mode (but I don't want to go in hating it like some other ppl are!)
Liked and subbed, looking forward to a part 2 where hopefully my one braincell learns where to place walls / ranged tiles / guns so I don't get stuck in a save -> load file cycle lol
Some tips on what to buy first in the shop, and general strats for each raid boss would also be great!
Actually even a livestream upload where you talk over all of your recruit / deploy decisions in maps would be helpful~
I'll see what I can do about getting my Twitch VOD's uploaded here! Might be a second channel kind of thing, we'll see - need to check what best practices are on that.
Executor Alter is REALLY good in this mode
1. He is the ultimate shredder for resource mining so that collector robot can gather materials faster and more efficient AND he protects the collector machine too
2. Put him behind Mizuki for the ultimate Opp Stopper to prevent small fast mobs approaching blue box
3. Self Defence against heavy enemies is god tier unless their attack is B+
Oh man I wish I had the spare funds to train him up, FedEx looks so cool. I got him recently in an off-banner freebie!
gota share this video, no entire channel to people that struggle on this survival gamemode.
Base level is reset so they might as well wipe tech tree progress as well.
I'll try to get base building suggestions up soon; for now, you know your team best; build around what your team needs!
@@janematthews9087No way you think IS is worse than RA
@janematthews9087 I don't think this is fair. Both modes are worth learning and having a good time with. I enjoy both, and I can guarantee I'm not the only one.
The only issue I had with Fire Within The Sands was that it *wasn't* permanent because it meant I couldn't take my time to build my account first before attempting it more as it was around when I got back into it after a multi-year break!
Integrated Strategies feels great in my honest opinion, Reclamation Algorithm on the other hand feels way too much of a hassle to have any fun with
if everything was carrying over after resets, then perhaps it would be somewhat approachable, but getting shafted without knowing every minute detail feels super exhausting and frustrating
I never managed to deploy buildings on my base in the first Reclamation Algorithm. I just couldn't figure out how I was supposed to do it and the guides I looked didn't help. I'm hoping I can enjoy this one properly.
few extra tips/summary from a fellow RA1 hardened doktha:
the start is always rough asf, this is where u need to give it your all to build ur base for extra daily resources
increase your base LV ASAP, that is the first big goal for easier future farming, all your first sufferings are for this
FRD can use -6dp or block+1, your choice
use block+1 on FRD, especially Mr Nothing s1, he FRD with 3 blocks in RA, also on e0 cantabile
Degenbrecher is the GOAT
Dorothy is also GOATLY for hunting beasts and opening up resources range
also use another device to check RA maps so u can save time from checking the map and trying to remember where the resources are in that map
there are still old maps from RA1 they are using
there are 8 team slots, i put them as of follow for easier navigating and less prepping
1. Half Wood (6 ops, personally i put Texalter here)
2. Half Hunt (6 ops, different ops than team 1, personally i put Yato Kirin here)
slot 1 and 2 for earliest starter
3. Fullpower Wood (12ops, using your best ops and use 1 other act for non-stage)
4. Fullpower Stone/Ore (12ops, same w/ slot3 logic, but more arts, forsake SA if u have anyone better, once want to farm stone, we cant really afford to do 2 stages due to resources limitation much later)
5. Full Hunt Melee only (12ops, some stages are annoying and has no high tile at all)
6. Block Raid (12ops, any raid has tendency, either slow hard hitters)
7. Fast Raid (12ops, or swarmed hard in waves)
8. custom (for some unique bosses and testing out new teams if you feel like replacing any 7 teams above)
water pumping can be done in any wood/stone/iron/hunt team so no need to mind a specific team for it
Great tips here! I personally don't use the extra team slots since I juggle ops a lot based on weather, but that is a solid use of the slots!
I only started playing earlier this year and have maybe 3 operators that are maxed out so for me most of this video is "words that probably mean something and are probably important stuff". But I have been delaying it so I can finish the other event first and farm all those resources before jumping into this one. So I am now excited to see what I can do on this mode
Take your time! Glad to hear you're at least giving it a shot!
Thanks king, I am now totally motivated to play this game mode, some of your tips like using fartooth S2 sound handy.
Strange Territories BGM is banging real hard, the composers really cooked here
I haven't made it to Strange Territories yet! But I'll take your word for it - been loving listening to the RA soundtrack again.
Ooh, I knew she was effective, but didn't know the math worked out so perfectly. Long live harmacists.
I'm only 2 mins in and I already love this guy
thank you so much for this guide ;) Great work
This video is a crime to be free. 40 god damn minutes of guides and good information that is well edited and voice by a guy with a very sexy voice. you sir earned my sub!

This is awesome, +1 subscriber for you
awesome video! i dont play arknights but i listened to it while watering my plants
I'm told I have a good voice by many - I'm glad this was pleasing to listen to at least!
This might be slightly unrelated but do you happen to know how to get past the area boss in the olden site of zumrutruyasi, the one with one of the tuye cutscenes? I’m having fun with the mode but that node is blocking me from steel and I can’t find any tips on how to clear it as I keep running out of time by the time the priestess/boss came out and I’m honestly desperate :”)
Thanks for being one of the only people who gives genuine tips on how to PLAY the game btw, not just SPEEDRUN it, great vid!
Not quite there yet, but I will do my best to drill deep! Currently still working through it on stream right now.
edit: this vid is a GODSEND
original:
i need to finish reading the in-game tutorial and then listen to this vid because goddamn i really want to understand what this game mode is/was (i tried playing the first RA and it just took my braincells)
commenting to boost the algorithm
I hope it helps, and I appreciate it!
@@DoctorSockratesTHANK YOU DOKTAH FOR RETURNING MY BRAINCELLS 😮
Fun fact/maybe bug(?) I discovered about Lin: Her shield makes her immune to the drought debuff. She straight up doesn't get burnt or stunned. Something to do with how her shield is coded????
I know Phalanx casters aren't particularly versatile, but she did help me solo the croc mobs for that croc priest stage.
The amount of sheer cheese Lin can perform just by ignoring anything less than 200 damage is honestly incredible.
@@DoctorSockrates Yeah I knew this applied to normal attacks but to see it applied to weather just tickles my funny bone ig lol
Hoshi with module can have 4 block, so she can be used for material retrival too. At least for the first version of this gamemode i used her for that.
My biggest problem with the first Reclamation Algorithm is that I was never able to build anything in my base...
This one is the same unfortunately
comeback in arknights only for this mode
love it
Now this is a returner I can support.
Not that I've got very far yet, but i really like using april, she's essentially fast redeploy sniper with camouflage, perfect for scouting, hunting and overal just very versatile.
She's a rare hidden gem in the rough and definitely overshadowed by other FRD's! Good catch.
Dude, the guide is what I've been looking for holy sh*t. but you gotta get an editor man, get more visuals in your guide. great guide regardless!
@@DoctorSockrates thanks for the guide regardless, legit started a fresh run based on your insights and so far so good, so keep up the good work man!
An RA Enjoyer, LET'S GOOOOOOOOUUUUU!
Even tho I played quite a bit when it first came out months ago, I didn't actually grasp every aspect. I love the time and dedication put into this. Great video!
on topic of resource picking operator, mr nothing is really good even at E0 with S1 you can use him as 2 block 25 second fast redeploy
Perfumer’s S2 is, from my experience, super helpful for really big maps omggg
Global skills in general are great! I'm a little further now and you can get something similar to it by sacrificing a little bit of food and some off-roster medics.
Ma boy deserves more subs, and I'm in
Nice intro guide, I was hoping you would tell me how to unlock metal mining though.
3:50 correction u can retreat once
But you no longer have the first op and the second act of the day.
So technically there some play with it if you think the defense ruined
Souce: i tried.
For sniper hunting i find platinum is also nice when in ar 1 but didn't do much hunting myself.
Ah, they changed it then? So you can field two teams of non-overlapping operators for a raid at base?
@@DoctorSockrates pretty sure u always can. In ra 1 defend twice too but most of the time if it too that point usually already a lost anyway 😕.
Like i remember in ra 1 being rushed by catapult then i retreat then gets annihilated since all wall is gone
@@DoctorSockrates in ra 2 i did it in 1 % hp since my base isnt set up so when i restart the defense my base got poke and loss anyway but it is good to know. Though kinda still need a second team anyway to actually work
Thanks, appreciate this :)
really helpul vid, kinda wished i saw it before being on day 72 lol. is it possible for you to make a guide for some of the "no mans land" stages, this crocodile priestess has me struggling hard and theres basically no guides rn.
I can't wait to experience those myself; I'll get back to you once I've tried them! Some of the maps are really buried in there but once I have some stream footage, I'll try to remember to get my impressions in. I also play slower since I'm really drilling deep and being thorough, so please bear with me!
I like taking Kazemaru on hunting maps as well
Any boss guides? Im dying consistently on Linebreaker phase 2 even with a full built hoshiguma. How do i hold the Linebreaker down in Phase 2?
Ah yes, the Sarkaz Football Player. Based on my experience with the first game: don't. Let the base tank it. I basically kept my base full HP during FwtS (RA1) and then built my defensive line somewhat close to my base so that when phase 2 drops, I let Hoshi step aside to let the linebreaker through to my very tanky base. Granted, the bases in TwtS might be weaker, so maybe have some repair bots ready this time around. Redeploy a spare defender or Hoshi when possible so that it's only the boss damaging your base, and DPS race him to the depths of his HP bar.
as i hate being low tech, i will farm the points first and then give it a real go at it after i maxed all upgrades :3
Over all I quite enjoy this mode I am just farming points at the moment (doing 3 events, end day 3 to get points, reset) but I like it so far
I will probably destroyed later on because I am stupid ^^
Btw Fortress defender can also destroy rocks for a secret path if they happen to hit something right in front of the rock
So you can get easy acces if there is something blocking the rock without having to destroy that thing first
Huh, splash damage? I'll have to verify this! Usually I thought you have to clear the space for a melee op to smash it on an adjacent tile.
@@DoctorSockrates Yea I am using my Firewhistle to open paths so I don't have to chop down trees all the time if they block the rock.
Have not tried it with anything else so far.
The only thing I hate abt RA rn is that rainy weather. You telling me my specialist and a lot of guardas cannot pick up resources ?
Lol
It's so strange! I'll keep trying to see if I can make it work but...it's not looking good for our girlie.
"THIS GUY! This guy gets it!"
Really happy to hear it! Even with my experience, the imperfect information I get playing my first campaign so far with only small bits of information from chat and here on UA-cam makes things so much more exciting than you'd expect.
"Given the opportunity, players will optimize the fun out of a game." - Arknights
This holds true for a whole lot more, unfortunately. Is what it is.
Hypergryph took all the fun out of the mode sadly.
The fact that they lock stone behind some nodes I can’t even get to makes this a hard pass for me bruv
That's alright! Arknights has plenty of other content that's more accessible for your progression and skill.
In terms of a lot of more niche 5* ops in RA, is E1 lvl max enough for resource gathering and stuff?
