    I love the Trout Bitten crew. I’ve learned so much from the podcast and videos. The way you all make us the listeners feel like we are right there with you during discussions and fishing tactics is unmatched! Thank you for the wealth of knowledge and the reminder that a day on the water learning, catching or getting skunked, is still a great day. Tight lines! And thanks again!

    Dom, these keep getting better and better. Your storytelling is at a high level and, as someone fortunate to get to have you guide me, your teaching is spot on. Your passion for the craft is evident, your approach is logical and soulful…plus River is the star

    A joy to watch Dom.
    It's dark and raining now and the last weekend of the Trout season looks to be blown out, but the Grayling will be waiting once the levels drop.
    Cheers Pete

    I appreciate the data collection mindset. Helps to build good habits and keep engaged. Great stuff Dom! Sorry about the rod.

      Right on. I always say I'm out there to get good drifts and learn something. That's my goal. Cheers.

    Dom, sorry about your rod. I'm glad you didn't bust a knee or something. Man, I really enjoyed this video, I had plans to fish Monday but spent the day in the ER with pneumonia! I had been feeling bad for several days, thinking a good day of restful fishing would fix me, guess I was wrong! I'm here in the mountains of NC, and we are getting pounded with this hurricane, our Forcast is either 6 to 8 inches or 10 to 20 inches we are right on the line between the too. We need rain but not flooding. The creeks have been low and hot all summer. We get a flood about every 4 years and it's hard on our wild trout population. Anyway, thanks again for sharing. i really needed this one. Oh give River a good scratch for me.

      Oh man, I break at least one rod per year. I also fall in about once every couple months. Ha.

    Good stuff Dom. I very much enjoyed the part where you broke your rod.
    These films are honestly great. You got something here. the camera work makes me feel like I am standing next to you as you are explaining your ideas. It’s bittersweet. I love what you are doing but I don’t want this information so easily accessible. Haha. If you keep it up there will soon be an army of good anglers on my local water.
    Suck it.

    I hope the guys don't give you too hard a time about the fall & the rod break. I mean, Delly never falls (according to him). BTW_ your wading staff solution has been a gamechanger for me

    • @Troutbitten
      @Troutbitten  Місяць тому

      Yeah, Delly has gorilla grip.
      Staff: Glad to hear it.

    Hi Dom
    Greetings from SW Alberta
    Again I say thanks for the slack leader formula, a local fly fish shop said I should try the Airflo 5ft floating poly leader, I like the leaders you suggest and give the formula.
    What are your thoughts on the floating poly leaders.
    Thanks for your wonderful media offerings

    • @Troutbitten
      @Troutbitten  Місяць тому

      My opinion on floating poly leader, since you asked . . . No way. Not anywhere close to a slack leader. Far too powerful, and it won't land in s curves like a good slack leader. I've used poly leaders, and they won't provide slack like a Harvey. Cheers.

    Great, informative video Dom, as usual! Sorry about your rod, but at least it wasn’t a bone. Just curious, what was the rod you used in the second half of the video which replaced the Hardy and how does it compare using the mono rig system? Thanks and keep the great videos coming!

    I’ve learned that if you fall and break your fall with your arm instead of your rod, you won’t break as many rods. Of course, I also can’t scratch my own back anymore. Or throw a football. So maybe don’t take my advice…

    • @Troutbitten
      @Troutbitten  Місяць тому
