Just letting you know... whenever you asked who they look like, they had just said who in their lyrics. BTW, that's not Dr. Dre, that's DJ Hurricane, the Beastie Boys DJ at the time, who was eventually replaced by Mix Master Mike.
Beastie Boys are some of the godfathers of rap. They go back to 1981. Before that they were a punk band. This song came out in 1994, 5-6 years before Eminem was discovered.
Mike D with that short blonde hair pre dates Eminem by several years, Eminem loves the Beastie Boys and has done multiple homages to them even an album cover was almost an exact duplicate of License to Ill
Just got home from class in 1994. Tired as hell. Wednesday so in college that means the day is long. Everyones wednesday is long in college. LOL Got home, turned on Rap city. This came on, Watched it, jumped up and ran to Turtles records to buy it. No longer tired. LOL
Absolutely loving your reactions to the Beastie Boys. So happy you've got so much love for them. They were the soundtrack to my youth as a teenage skateboarder growing up in the UK in the 90's. And still dress like a B-Boy to this day except the crouch of my jeans is not as low as it used to be, NEVER WILL I GROW UP!
My favorite BB is “Gratitude”-and yes they are legends, so creative. Sometimes it’s hard for me to listen to, mourning those boys & Adam Yauch. Fly free, fly high MCA. rip 🌈🦋🦋🦋🏵
The Beastie Boys addressed their disrespecting of women in earlier songs by dropping a sick verse saying they were through with that, and had nothing but love and respect for them til the end… absolute fire.
Finally someone is reacting to other songs from the Beastie Boys. It feels like everyone else just always reacts to the same 4 songs. If you liked the flute in this one, try Flute loop, it's pretty good. I saw that you did Root down as well. There are so many good ones that to me represent better the Beastie boys than the classic 4 songs everyone always mentions. Brass Monkey, Triple trouble, Egg man, Get it together, Hey ladies, Pass the mic, Shadrach, Make some noise (so many cameos in this one, great to react to I think), Too many rappers (with Nas). There are so many great songs.
What you need to realize is the BBoys created the cut and slash style…before then it was each mc in a crew dropped thier verse and then the next guy went and so on. They definitely helped define a hip hop group, guys that played off each other
Growing up listening to the Beastie Boys was cool because the kept reinventing themselves with each song. Everything was new, so there was no rules of how you should sound or what you should do. Listen to them from their first album on
There ain’t a GenXer out there that doesn’t sing along with : “Well, I'm that kid in the corner All fucked up and I wanna So I'm gonna (yeah) Take a piece of the pie Why not, I'm not quittin' Think I'm-a change up my style just to fit in”
3mc's & 1dj. Piped in as their live performance for a Mtv musoc awards, 1dj, 1 take, 1record, no beat machine %100 percent Hip Hop from concentrate. Enjoy
Wow. Yeah you young lings need to revisit ALL the nine ting ninety-nine energy rap artists.... Heavy D Biz Markie Too Short En Vogue All em and more frfr
"...sounds amazing..." Because back in those days people worked on their craft, collaborated and worked together synergistically, and put in the time and effort into creating works of art. These days, kids have a fast food mentality. Put together a beat in 4 minutes, post it, sell it, no real collaborative effort, get the song back from another person then post it online for likes and attention.
I really wish you had listened to the track uninterrupted first off and then maybe played the track through a second time and then stopped to analyse/judge different aspects. Sure Shot is one of these guys greatest tracks and pausing it suddenly just really ruins the flow and how amazing this is.
You are killing this. Been watching from early on you showed up in my queue been watching sense. Anyways you said you and Eminem aren't aquatinted. So....go listen to the real slim shady 😏
Never heard beastie boys?... & 2:05 "Never listen to Eminem"?... so, you're new to hiphop ? That's like saying your'e a metal head and never listen to metallica... your shooting yourself right in the back. You don't know Hiphop or rap... you don't. It's like saying you paint but don't know purple. No need to shit on yourself like that dude.
Beastie Boys, nothing but love! Also, this and "Whatcha Want?" are for me two of their best songs, but damn what a catalog!
Just letting you know... whenever you asked who they look like, they had just said who in their lyrics. BTW, that's not Dr. Dre, that's DJ Hurricane, the Beastie Boys DJ at the time, who was eventually replaced by Mix Master Mike.
MMM is a force! But I hope DJ Hurricane was taken care of.
And before DJ Hurricane it was Doctor Dre (the one from YO! MTV Raps with Ed Lover, not the one from NWA). Nobody can touch Mixmaster Mike though.

The Beasties had no Hip Hop anything in 1981, Cookie Puss was '83
@@mthai66 they first formed in 1981. I clearly stated they started off as punk.
Read for comprehension.
@@MRKNIGHT Ya I know, I was there. Reread what you wrote. You said they were Punk *before 1981*
Come on, be predictable... Keep fight over nonsense 😂 its hilarious
Mike D was first on that look btw. Em looked up to the Beastie Boys too.
Yeah, Em looks like them not the other way around. This was 1994
damn, inspiration Inspires inspiring inspirators

You have just fallen into a large beautiful rabbit hole
Great flute sample from Jeremy Steig from 1970 (released on Blue Note, which is the coolest record label EVER)
One of my favorite B-Boy songs! 🔥🙌🏻💯‼️
My favorite BB is “Gratitude”-and yes they are legends, so creative.

You man nobody really does Car Thief either.
Do the full version of Make Some Noise. Then, just put on Paul's Boutique and let it roll.
Professor Booty and Shake your Rump too and still more than that.
You have to check out: Get it together, Beastie Boys with Q tip. Awesome song....
Phone is ringing, omg
The entire Ill Communication album is fire
That is DJ Hurricane(their mix master, after Rick Rubin)
Same album as Sabotage. Diversity is the key to the Beasties. Never make 2 songs that sound the same like those with lots less talent who just mumble.
Greatest rap group ever
What you need to realize is the BBoys created the cut and slash style…before then it was each mc in a crew dropped thier verse and then the next guy went and so on. They definitely helped define a hip hop group, guys that played off each other
Beastie Boys is one of those groups where even if I'm not crazy about the song I still love the video because they're clearly having fun with it.
Growing up listening to the Beastie Boys was cool because the kept reinventing themselves with each song. Everything was new, so there was no rules of how you should sound or what you should do. Listen to them from their first album on
Bro you need to react to High Plains Drifter by The Beastie Boys.. You'll dig the vibes

The whole album is fire.

Mario C!!!! he produced this track and did alot of engineering after they left Def Jam.

There's alot of references just flying over this kids head. He doesn't know who Lee Perry is? Tbh he wasn't listening hard enough but maybe he will!
B-Boys...are on another level! I think you're to young to understand!
You don’t know who LEE SCRATCH PERRY is? You kiddos crack me up. You should def listen to him.
Google Lee Perry. Trust me
Dr. Dre was their Dj for a short time actually. Thats a crazy story.
Doctor Drè not Dr. Dre two different DJs and only one DJ'ed for the BB.
@@anthonyv6962 yes the one from yo mtv raps...I'm 46 and 4emember all of that
You seem neat, you’d probably also enjoy Aesop Rock.

Something completely different to react to is Du Hast by Rammstein, the live version in Paris.
Root down remix version is good.
I was always that kid in the corner. . .
More flute ? Flute Loop.
Slim shady was trying to look like him
Educate to elevate
If you only knew all of the references they’re dropping
I really wish you had listened to the track uninterrupted first off and then maybe played the track through a second time and then stopped to analyse/judge different aspects. Sure Shot is one of these guys greatest tracks and pausing it suddenly just really ruins the flow and how amazing this is.

Bra, Shady straight ripped off Mike D's look (and swiped their first album cover)

No need to shit on yourself like that dude.
Can't react to a song if you keep stopping it over and over
Before you're born, I Bet. $250
Too many pauses
