It’s interesting we now have a RSV being brought back to life. There is NRSV and NRSVUE. However there appears to be some new love going to the original.
My first recollection of the RSV is being expected to memorise a small number of verses from it at age 10, more years ago than I sometimes care to remember. Although I don't recall the RSV being used much, if at all, in the churches I've attended over the years, it holds a special place in my heart. I recently purchased a copy and am looking forward to it becoming one of my regular go-to Bibles.
Waiting on my review copy. Really excited for this one. The RSV was my mom’s first bible growing up so it’s been fun seeing it come back in some really nice editions.
The RSV was my first non catholic bible that I read. I've been looking for an RSV, but they all been catholic ones. So glad we got a protestant version again. I own both the KJV and NKJV Sovereigns. Can't wait to see this! They are such beautiful bibles!
My church (still!) has RSV pew bibles. I usually read/preach from the ESV (occasionally the NRSV), but I’m thinking of getting one of these to use occasionally.
Thanks for posting this…I just preordered on your link to Amazon. I never read this translation and since I enjoy the ESV, I Thought it would be great to read.
Interestingly, they are republishing the RSV after it has been revised several times. I was forced to read the RSV in seminary many years ago. Overall I liked it although I disagreed with the translation in several places.

I am really looking forward to getting my copy. Great to see a mid-range RSV that is for us Protestants.
The only difference is one has the apocrypha/duterocannon right ?

@@SirDMTZ thanks brother. Would love to see you there.

Wish they had put the apocrypha in it
It is interesting to see the RSV come back around for Protestants.
Looks like a great Bible
BTW you didn't miss anything. The KJV Sovereign has the Psalm and Proverbs in the single column format. The NKJV is only double column. 😎😊
Good to know! Thanks!
Wow! finally a Baptist preacher that's not KJVO, Wow!!!!!!!
lol! They are lots of us out there.
I’ve been to a Baptist church that recently went from NKJV to the ESV. Shocker was when I went to a Baptist church that uses the NRSV.
