Klopp looks exhausted by it all. Players look like they’re thinking about the new manager already. Big questions over the front three. We constantly need bailing out by midfielders and defenders blaming in worldies. You’ll win very little if that continues
Must admit we have been punching above our weight this season,but to cave in at this stage its gut wrenching.
Oh FFS be honest with the situation. This side have been shambolic for a couple of months. Conceding the 1st goal again, diabolical set piece defending, useless in front of goal wasting decent chances through poor finishing or a lack of composure.
The final nail in the coffin is Salah acting like a petulant child despite the fact that he has been dreadful since his return to the side and in particular the last 4 games he has looked like someone who won a raffle to play.
Thanks Jurgen for the memories, you will always be a legend of this club but leaving is the right decision.

Liverpool were never in this title race given the goals they concede. Tighten up the defence, show composure in attack and you will win games 2-0 comfortably
Neil keeps saying they have to stop conceding first but what I think is more important is to stop conceding goals by not getting the basics right. Every game it's the same old rubbish defending with the same players taking it in turns to see who can defend the worst. For West Ham's first goal what the hell is Quansah doing? He just stands there and no attempt to jump and try and head it. Gapko is near the goalscorer but doesn't do anywhere near enough with a feeble challenge to head the ball. For West Ham's second Quansah again is found wanting. He is marking goalscorer but doesn't even attempt to jump to head the ball and allows the West Ham player a free header.
As the same players keep doing the same poor defending game after game, it must mean Klopp clearly sees defending as not a priority. It looks like they don't do the basics of defending in training and the fault lies with Klopp. As good as Klopp has been for Liverpool, he doesn't pay enough attention to the defensive side of the game and it has cost Liverpool dearly. Earlier in the season when the strikers kept scoring it papered over the cracks of the defensive mistakes but now they are magnified since the goals have been hard to come by. The season can't finish soon enough. Lets hope Arne Slot has defending as a higher priority than Klopp and sorts that shambles of a defence out. What happened to the days when Van Dijk used to organise the defence.
2 goals should be enough to win any game. Our defence is getting away with murder. We haven't kept a clean sheet in the last 8 PL games. Even having Alison back hasn't made a difference
Exactly this ! The whole narrative has been about misfiring forwards but lets talk about the fact that the defence has been piss poor. 20 games weve gone behind first, simply unacceptable for lfc
I always said we were the 3rd best team but when we were top i thought Klopp leaving would make us win the league regardless, like a fairytale like Leicester. Lets just try and think of it as a season with some great comebacks, a great cup win, and watching exciting games. Thats what we pay for at the end of the day and its better than 99% of football clubs
We used to be put under pressure but never concede. Now its 5 mins of pressure and we concede.

Always felt that Mo played for himself and his personal targets rather than the team. Yes strikers need to be a bit selfish but he takes it to a new level. Time for him to leave - hopefully for a huge transfer fee. Win:Win for both him and club.
Salah disrespecting Klopp after Klopp leaving him out of the starting line up had shades of when Mane started to get left out of the team.
Klopp and Salah are two Liverpool legends that need a fresh start and Liverpool need new energy coming into the club

Like Neil said, we wanted to be there at the beginning of April for the start of the title run in, we were, and for it to play out like this I don’t know about everyone else, but I didn’t see it coming. Gutted that’s it ended like this for Jurgen.
Everything went downhill once players came back fit and we took the youngsters out the team.JK should bring them all back in clark,McConnell,danns etc obviously bradley injured. We need there're spirit and heart bk in the team
It's incredible that we had so much possession and so many shots, yet we had the same amount of shots on target as west ham... Such inefficient forward play and it's been the story of the last couple of months really. Even as far back as the city game, we should've been putting teams to the sword. In that sense, we haven't looked like a title contender. We haven't looked as serious as arsenal or city who both have the capacity to go away from home and shut games down
i just don’t get how the team seems to have lost their heads. after everything they went through at the start of the season. Players like Salah need to be leading by example and staying positive, not having a mope around. Stay positive and put a shift in - if only out of respect for Klopp. And if not then, to impress your next boss, Slot, who may well sell you on!
The whole team has let this great Man down, the whole team, and it's just Klopp and us fans who are here for the suffering and this heartbreaking ending.

Klopp's success and failure is caused by the same reason: high intensity and emotion.
We win games when the intensity/emotion is good.....the same thing causes bad spells.
Klopp left Dortmund and his last season there was downhill.
Same thing happened in 2020/21 and 2022/23 and now in the last month of this season.
It's normal stuff for a Klopp team.
The annoying, frustrating and bemusing tendencies to (a) concede first and (b) concede whenever an opponent shows the slightest inkling to attack - would be utterly inconsequential if we could just FINISH OUR BLOODY CHANCES. It is hard to fathom that such a stellar squad, and a club that has accomplished so much so recently, can at the same time allow opponents to score from a single chance, whilst we need several dozen before finding the net. It has to be psychological.
I was at the game, Liverpool controlled most of first half with no cutting edge, real goal threat, shakey at the back and not good in the air. Antonio dominated Quansah
Second half Liverpool dominated, attacked well and put pressure on West Ham, Gakpo drove the team forward with his runs.
Went 2-1 up, should’ve got the 3rd and killed the game with numerous chances, Diaz 1 on 1, Salah through on goal 2 on 1 right pass needed.
Didn’t get the 3rd and one error on the right led to few more phases of play that cost Liverpool the equaliser with Antonio unmarked and free header in from the cross 🤷🏼♂️
Defending is as mutch of a problem as attack. Slot needs to do a Rafa and bring stability.
Agree with this wholeheartedly. Clean sheets and being hard to beat has to become the priority. A top class no. 6 is required. Strike force and midfield has enough quality to win games 1 nil.
It’s way more of an issue. We have kept two clean sheets in the league this year but are still one of the highest scoring teams in Europe

Watched that first half, thought we should have gone in ahead but as we missed chances I had this feeling that despite everything we'd still concede first ~ and we bloody well did ~ just knew it would happen and I don't know why that defence hasn't been sorted.
Feel like I watched a completely different game to these 3

Quite incredible how far we’ve fallen in a month.
Found that genuinely sad. After seven years, to see a fall out between two biggest instigators of success.
Think this is the result of the constant injuries we’ve been having, the players that had to play every week look knackered and the ones coming back look rusty at best… plus we always go behind which means we have to chase a game and can never rest. Add to that Salah’s inability to shoot now… and it’s all just not very good.

We dominate in terms of possession but we don't create many clear changes and when we do created good chances we misfire in front of goal. As for the defending, if you could call it that.....
Liverpool were the better team, it was an improvement on the everton team. Liverpool were abit unlucky. They are trying to get their confidence back against the anti liverpool media. They deserve to win. West ham can be dangerous on the break.
We may possibly be one of the worst defensive sides at the top end of European football and I think we are definitely the worst side defending set pieces in football. Can anyone truly say we have 4 solid defenders at the back? All the talk around new manager and how we play with the back 4 well do we really? We actually defend with 2 center halves one of them always unreliable pick a name and 2 midfielders who are usually not feeling in that position. We need two center halves desperately and an outstanding defensive midfielder or else this is going to go on all of next year

Four matches in 10’days with an away match in northern Italy is too much football. Liverpool have now an eight day period for rest & recovery until Spurs on 5th May. I wouldn’t be surprised if spurs get whacked in that match. These players need a rest.
Says it all really when a team supposedly going for the league title has to score 2 goals just to rescue a point at the mighty West Ham. Can Liverpool beat any team these days? They've won one of their last five PL games, the same as Forest, Luton and Burnley and they're all in a relegation battle.
Our defence is complete fkn shit. Constantly ball watching and out of position. CBs have no command of the 6yd box and danger men or free men are constantly left unattended while our players are 3ft away watching the ball fly over their heads. We need a John Terry type back there (i could say Carra or Hyypia but you know exactly what i mean), sick of watching it. How are they not briefed on making sure certain players don’t have about 2 players on them?

Let’s keep it simple. There’s way too many players that aren’t good enough. We’ve lost leaders in Henderson and Milner and we don’t have as many winners in the team like Bobby and Mane anymore. Out that starting 11 the only player I think is good enough now is Diaz, maybe Van Dijk too even though he’ll be gone next season. We’re a poor team.

Same old shit! Go a goal down from poor defending and that puts pressure on the team and attack to score at least two goals to win. If the team feel under pressure they make mistakes and get injuries playing harder than they would have to if they took the lead. No penetration up front and when they do have, are once again let down by lousy finishing. Crap defending on set pieces. And if that wasn't enough public rowing between player and manager. Quite embarrassing performance really in the end to cap off an embarrasing week. If there's one thing you can rely on from Liverpool this season it's no composure in attack and defensive meltdown under pressure. No where near close enough to Arsenal and City and mounting a serious title challenge.
