Nashville's Best Tiki Bar! [3 Bars In 1 Night]

- Does a tiki bar in Nashville make sense? It absolutely does. 'Paradise' is most needed in places where palm trees don't exist. My friend, Beverly, and I visited three tiki bars in Nashville to find out which one is the absolute best. We weighed decor, music, and quality of cocktails. You might be surprised by the winner.

I’d love to keep seeing more of these tiki bars in big metropolitan cities! Rather helpful for those of us that like to travel.
More to come!
“Big Metropolitan Cities” ≠ Nashville lol
Man I wish the Omni Hut was still open it was the best Hawaiian restaurant we had in middle TN. The building is still there and themed.
Yeah, Justin and Mo from the Hale Manu talk about it to me all of the time!
The ambience there was Tiki to the core!
Aww, I love the shout out to Justin and Mo at the end!
Such a great series !!! Love the voice over!!!
Thank you!
Love the series! Seattle next? I've only been to Inside Passage (which we would add to your "not a tiki bar tiki bar" list) and Navy Strength... but I think there's a few more close by?
Haha... I've heard that about Inside Passage... 'not a tiki bar, tiki bar.'
I'd love to go up and see the bars in Seattle!
Thank you for sacrificing your palates (and wallet) for us.😉😂 We will go directly to Choppers with this new intel. 🙏
😂
I hit up all 3 of these on a recent trip to Nashville and totally agree. Chopper was the best overall "Tiki Bar" I got the Christmas themed "You'll Shoot Your Eye Out" (served in a Ralphie in the bunny costume mug) which was tasty. Hubba Hubba was fun and a place I could definitely hang out in, but the drinks were just OK and Pearl Diver was way too clubby for me. Love your videos they help guide some of my stops around the country for sure!
Thanks! That's pretty much the same experience that we had/ felt about the Nashville bars.
Rocking a Hamilton Ventura. Very cool.
I was out in Nashville in May and walked to all 3 and had a blast. The other bathroom at Hubba Hubba was Christmas themed and Chopper was doing a Star Wars theme for May the 4th.
😂 amazing
I’ve never been to Nashville, but I’ll say Pearl Diver’s exterior looks like my kind of place but Chopper’s interior and drinks definitely more my place, plus I know Justin. He and I used to work together at The Bamboo Club.
Man great video for those who want to visit bars in other cities. Keep these coming man love them
Thanks! Will do!
Chopper..where Traders Sam's meets Futurama
Chopper looks like a lot of fun. I like the new wave we're getting now of bars taking the Tiki bar philosophy, for lack of a better term, of maximalist, theatrical decoration that tells its own story and applying it to different aesthetics.
Couldn't agree more
I would think that Nashville of all places would have a full-on tiki joint. The Robot Chopper bar looked the best though. The drinks make or break a place!
Yeah, it is kind of surprising that there isn't an authentic tiki bar in that city yet!
I'll have to ad Nashville to the list for Chopper. I normally can't do three bars a night because I like a minimum of two drinks at a bar
Yeah, we were tasting each other's drinks, so I think it helped us to get more of an idea about each bar that we visited. I totally get your point though.
We went to the Tiki Tonk back in March. Had the same experience as you.
😂
Need to get to Nashville…all 3 places look like fun! 👏👏🤙
Totally!
Great to put a face with the name in Justin Oliver from Tiki Recipes. If I ever go to Nashville definitely gonna have to stop in to Chopper.
You should, though Justin no longer works there.
We go to Nashville quite a bit, and Chopper is always a must anytime we go even if we have to squeeze in a 30 minute visit.
A Taylor Swift Skeleton….. I need to make one of those for my Tavern.
have an upcoming trip to nashville so re-watched this, post madonna inn episode...beverly is such a delight! ❤🎉
I was in Nashville (one of my favorite cities) in November. I Yelped Tiki bars while I was there and found all three of the places you visited. I didn’t make it to any of them, I was too busy doing all the other things! But I appreciate this video a lot because I know I will be back in Nashville at some point and now I know which place is worth going to! Thanks, Spike!
Thanks for sharing!
I went to Chopper when I was in Nashville. Glad I made the right choice, because those two other bars don't seem that great, or authentic, for that matter.. As a fellow native Californian, we're just spoiled for choice when it comes to tiki bar. It's hard not to feel underwhelmed when you leave the state!
I agree
Catching up on the shows I missed. This was a good one! Liked the off-beat tour. Keep up the good work, Spike! Another fun watch.
Thanks! Will do!
This should of had a subtitle of “Best Tiki Bar that isn’t a Tiki Bar” 😂 Quirky / Retro / kitsch is still cool though!!
That's a good idea. 😂
I liked Hubba Hubba Tiki Tonk as well, but our cocktails were not very good either (it was the same bartender). The atmosphere was definitely one of a kind and they were playing exotica and surf rock when we were in there and it wasn't too loud. I got a shirt!
I want to check out Chopper. That looks like a lot of fun.
I love Nashville, didn't know they had Tiki bars.
Would love to go to Chopper!
It being Nashville where every other country song mentions honky-tonks, it's no surprise that a tikiish bar would call itself a tiki-tonk.
A great overview Spike! Sparky approved!
Like I needed ANOTHER reason to visit Nashville!
great video. love these.
Thank you!
Dude just please find an excuse to come to Wilmington, NC and check out the Sorrow Drowner!
I'd love to!
Aloha and Yeeha!
Why wouldn’t you own being a Tiki bar?!?! It just means your bar is instantly more fun than most other bars
So good!
Why one street needs 3 tiki bars all about a mile from each other blows my mind.
That was a fun video!
Baywatch, Pearl Divers and Mai Tais. Sounds like someone's autobiography.
hahahaha...
Aloha and Yee Haw! Great video Spike!
Hey, thanks!
Good video
Glad you enjoyed
Pearl Diver and tiki tonk are the exact bars I avoid.
😂
Hale Manu should open a Tiki bar.
That looks like a Hawaiian bar Mai tai
amaizing video
Thanks!
As soon as I saw the tagline, I guessed… But that’s because I love chopper
I can understand the bartenders’ responses to this guy.
When did the bartender respond? Which one?
@@BreezewayCocktailHour you quoted the bartenders.
@@ethanad ah
The bar that appealed to me the most visually was Pearl Diver and the decor of Tiki Tonk was just stupid. Chopper doesn't do anything for me but i have heard others say the drinks there are great, but all of these places need to call them "Tropical Drinks". Having the word Tiki on the menu is so misleading. It's like newbie mug collectors who have Star Wars and monster themed mugs and then tell other people who don't have a clue, "They're Tiki mugs". Then that person gets the impression that that is what Tiki is and then tells others and it just perpetuates the problem.
Sooo..the best tiki bar in Nashville is The Hale Manu? 😉
Wow! I absolutely hate the vibe of all those places.
lol
"All gin's the same!" WTH? Maybe if these posers worried less about kitsching out their phony dive bar nd making a decent drink it wouldn't be totally empty. The best dive bars have genuine daydrinkers and the decor is UN-IRONIC.
How does the "server" not know that you can still serve Tiki cocktails in a non-Tiki establishment? Oh wait, they need to virtue signal, probably is also a part time writer at Punch Drink who titles all their articles,"You're Doing the ______ Wrong"
lol
All gin is the same?!?!?!? Blasphemy...
No kidding
Yeah... Millennials should be banned from opening tiki bars. =p
